I have had this for years!!!
Never had a problem, I still use it.
I use it for charging my phone, laptop, Insta 360, GoPro(s) and Nikon Camera. Perfect for traveling, especially when on a long motorcycle ride or going abroad.
I bought this specifically for providing a power supply supplement for my Sony ZV-E10 camera and Wireless GO II mics, whist on location. It’s perfect for that but also keeping my mobile phone or tablet charged as well!
Keeps its charge for quite some time and charges quickly, especially using a matching Anker charger. Highly recommended.
Purchased this as I thought it was suitable for powering/charging my Nikon Z8 camera. It isn’t as it doesn’t support PD. However, charges my mobile and my wife’s mobile phone so still eminently useful. Of course, my mistake – as had I read the battery specs properly, it doesn’t state that it is PD device. But otherwise a great powerhouse of a battery to have on hand.
This is the second purchase of this model, really very good. Old version fully charges my phone 3 times whilst on camping trips. New version has some improvements I’m told, but doesn’t come with the free carry bag that the old version came with sadly.
This is a brilliant power bank with only one disadvantage which is the charging time. However, there is a saving grace with the ability to connect two chargers to it – this can half the charge time if both are 2.1A outputs.
This charging block has the ability to handle anything that you can throw at it and having three ports to charge from is SO handy! I use this to run all my camera battery/drone battery, phones, headphones – you name it, it does it.
Whilst I ALWAYS bring two spare 20,000 mAh battery packs wherever I go, I rarely need to use either of them as this does the job well and handles it well. The BEST feature of this item however, is the fact that you can charge it via. TWO MINI-USB inputs at the same time. Where has this been all my life?
The plastic casing is also durable and whilst it can get scratched in your daily use, I’d rather have that than cracked plastic that is similarly weak. Okay, it’s not exactly light-weight but then again, if you’re looking for a product with that in mind, look elsewhere – but for general travelling and daily use, this is absolutely ideal to take with you.
Big in size, but does charge my phone 2-3 times after charging it or even multiple phones
Bought this to get me through the festival season and it’s been a life saver. Took it to Isle of Wight last weekend and came back with it still half full of charge. Best power bank I’ve had so far!
Obviously due to the size it takes a long while to charge so don’t leave it to the last minute to top it up.
Just what is this made off?
I have mine now almost 9 years.
And it still works perfectly.
I never had issues with this thing flying. I have dropped it a few times, the case has dents. But still it works perfectly.
Excellent battery life – it is slightly on the heavier side but worth having
This charges my iphone13 pro over 4 times which is great. It is a bit heavy though but seems well made.
I bought it for a USB light, it works well.
I’ve used this several times now to recharge my pixal phone, it will recharge it to 78% twice and 47% once, this is the maximum I have been able to achieve and I would expect it to deterate over time, but it works and is good if this is what you need, it won’t charge back to 100% 4+ times as some reviews say it will.
The Anker PowerCore 26800mAh Portable Charger is an excellent high-capacity power bank designed for charging multiple devices on-the-go. With a massive 26800mAh battery capacity, it can provide multiple charges for most smartphones, tablets, and even some laptops.
The build quality of this power bank is excellent, with a solid and durable design that can withstand the rigors of daily use. It’s also relatively compact for its battery capacity, making it easy to carry in a backpack or purse.
The PowerCore 26800mAh Portable Charger comes with three USB ports, allowing you to charge up to three devices simultaneously. One of these ports supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology, which can rapidly charge compatible devices. The other two ports support Anker’s PowerIQ technology, which intelligently identifies and delivers the optimal charging current to your devices.
In addition to its impressive charging capabilities, the PowerCore 26800mAh Portable Charger also comes with safety features to prevent overcharging, overheating, and short-circuiting. The power bank can also automatically turn itself off when not in use, helping to conserve battery life.
Overall, the Anker PowerCore 26800mAh Portable Charger is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-capacity power bank that can charge multiple devices simultaneously. With its fast charging capabilities, multiple USB ports, and long battery life, it’s a great investment for frequent travelers, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who needs to stay connected on-the-go.
Very sturdy powerbank from Anker, battery life is amazing can charge my steamdeck about 3-4 times when travelling, and my phone up to around 10 times. The only gripe to the product is the quite heavy so it may put users off if they want to travel light, but I would 100% recommend this powerbank.
I bought this power bank a few months ago, but only recently did I start to use it. Unfortuantely, after charging, it went faulty. I contacted Anker after finding the details on Amazon and used thier online help. I informed the agent, the nature of the fault and how long I had had it, along with the order ref. number. The agent arranged a replacement to be sent out and after a short wait, the item arrived and so far so good.. Very good customer service and despite the intitial fault, the product seems to be working as expected..
I’d bought this as an alternative to much cheaper Chinese versions. It isn’t lighter nor does it have better capacity than my old cheaper product. So I can only hope the internal batteries are better quality and last longer. Double charge feature is neat, but not essential.
I originally bought an Anker Astro E7 25600mAh in 2015 and it served me amazingly up until it kicked the bucket earlier this year.
The PowerCore model is ever so slightly bigger in size as seen in the photo, but wasn’t a deal break for me at all. This thing lives in my backpack that i use daily and have it available for emergencies and long journeys.
You can take this on planes with you. It recently came on a trip to USA with me and there were no issues. I spoke with Anker through email about it as well before purchasing and they also told me that it is ok to carry on planes in a carry on bag.
It does have a bit of a weight to it, so if youre looking for something not too heavy then this might not be good for you. But it’s also not outragiusly heavy given the capacity that it holds.
I was a little disapointed that it didn’t come with a protective carry bag like my old Astro E7 did and after reading one of the reviews here, it looks like they did get one. So i am little confused on if it should come with one or not. But again this was a non-issue for me as i was able to reuse the old carry bag from my Atro E7. Even though the bag is slightly too small, it does good enough for what i want.
I also noticed when i opened the packet that it came with a little manual which was a Welcome Guide. This guide seemed to be wrapped up in plastic which really didn’t seem necersary to me when all past Anker products i have bought have had the manuals but were not wrapped up in plastic.
My only reason i bring this up is because everythig else in the packaging is recyclable. But then there is this little plastic bag which can’t be recyled. Some may disagree but i would probably look at this as being plastic which didn’t need to be used when i remember my purchases from 2015 onwards not having bits like this.
In summary though, this is a great product and still lives up to it’s name for it’s purpose and i will continue to purchase cables and batteries from Anker in the future.
Its bigger and heavier than i thought but it does the Job perfectly. I use the power bank to plug into a heated Glllet and its on full all day, so its got plenty of power and it shows you how much power is left/has been used. For a phone id still use anker but maybe a smaller size.
I absolutely love this thing. It’s a behemoth of a power bank and it just does everything perfectly for the purposes I require of it.
The thing about powerbanks is that often you don’t feel like you need one until you actually have one. This model from Anker would be suitable for a number of types of customers, whether they’re travelling or hiking and need a reliable, dependable power source for charging phones, radios and photography equipment, or maybe a regular commuter on trains and planes, or perhaps just want a powerbank for slipping into their bag for a long bus ride or car journey in the back seat that will feature a long Netflix binge that’ll sap your phone’s juice!
A powerbank really is a fantastic thing to own, and this is my favourite one. It’s got huge capacity (it will charge my Sony Xperia XZ Premium 8 times before the bank needs charging itself), 3 separate charging output ports (so it’s ideal for a couple or a family in a range of situations), it charges quite quickly for its size, charging in around 8 hours with dual inputs connected (two charging cables plug into the bank at the same time), and it has some brilliant safety features built in, such as protection against overcharging of devices from the powerbank (so in other words, if your phone only takes 90 minutes to charge but you left it plugged in for 120 minutes without monitoring it, that would still be safe), and protection against overcharging of the powerbank itself (so I can leave my powerbank charging overnight, and it’s ready to go again once I wake up). The powerbank also features ‘adaptable trickle charge’, so it will feed lower levels of current into some devices automatically, such as some fitness bands/watches for example.
Hopefully what I have written so far paints a clearer picture for you as to what owning one of these would be like. A couple of final points to make though… as silly as this may sound, I use mine around the house a lot. It frees you up completely, you don’t have to sit near to where a charging socket is. You can sit anywhere in your living room, in the garden, in bed (and not have a cable stretched across the room). Also, Anker produce a range of models of powerbank, with varying sizes and features. This beast-of-a-powerbank is great, and I think you’d love it, but it may be worth checking out the other sizes that Anker do as well. If you’re a fine lady, you may wish to go for a slim model that can easily be slipped into a handbag, for example.
I genuinely believe most people would feel a real day-to-day benefit to their lives by owning a powerbank of some form. With today’s dependance on devices in mind, it really does give you new freedom and peace-of-mind. Even if you only need a small one for emergency power. I strongly recommend you check one of Anker’s models out, they are the best company I have tried, and their customer service is exactly what everyone would would customer service to be.
Thanks for reading 🙂
So far working perfectly as i would exspect from Anker as i buy alot from the company for its reputation for providing quality and reliable accessories , power banks etc. Had only 1 slight concern, i brought this power bank after losing my previous Anker one. This one is far more powerful and works perfectly, my concern was one or two of the negative reviews on amazon? Regarding failing etc or 1 min working and not the next. However i have used this for a while and as of yet all working great. And like my previous one never any trouble. charged it back up from flat 3 times and still works perfectly. Every port charges all my devices as exspected, and i know Anker has a great reputation with customer support. So i would recommend this battery pack for any gadget bag and explorer. I just hope eventually Anker will bring out some of there american power core blocks for tenting and caravaning, but untill then ill have to be jealous of the americans again haha but seriously great piece of kit. And can now charge my 10inch tablet and note 9 and my bludtooth headset or my other tethering device. Also works on my portable monitor, broadband if power goes down. All you need is to buy a usb to dc adapter for around 10-15 on amazon, which you can pick from 9v-12v making this power bank a must have.
I bought this at a discounted price as part of an Amazon Prime day lightning deal.
The overall build quality and capacity is astounding.
It allows you to charge 3 items at any one time (of which I’m usually charging an IPhone XS Max, a 2018 iPad and an Apple Watch)
I regularly have to travel for work where I will usually be away anywhere from between 24 – 48 hrs.
This allows me to charge the above without having to carry around mains chargers.
I haven’t managed to drain this bad boy yet, so it serves it’s purpose well.
The flip side of having such a large capacity is that it takes quite a while to charge in itself.
This model charges using Micro USB of which there are 2 inputs.
You don’t have to use both but doing so obviously doubles the charging speed, however even doing that it takes around 4 hrs.
My only criticism would be that it charges using Micro USB rather than USB C…but then again I’m sure there’s an upgraded version out there by now.
Regardless this version is totally fit for purpose and does it’s job well.
Highly recommended for Juice junkies who need a lot of charge whilst on the go.
Well done Anke
First let me say that this is the best portable charger I have ever used but it comes with a number of caveats. Let’s start with the good.
Pros:
1. Battery is huge and it charges devices quickly without draining too much of the battery. I can charge my iPad Pro twice as well as my phone and my headphones and still have some juice left over.
2. It is reasonably portable – for long trips on planes or cars you can chuck it in your backpack and it will last you the whole trip – it is fantastic in this way.
These are, in my opinion, the most important aspects of this device, and functionally it works perfectly – but buyers need to know somethings about it before deciding to go with this model.
Cons:
1) It is very large and very heavy. This noticeably weighs down my backpack and is not a device that you will be carrying around in your pocket or a smaller bag (such as a handbag). Anker does, however make smaller options so I would advice you to look at those if you are planning to carry the charger on your person at all times – I, myself, have a smaller battery back (10000 mah) which comfortably fits in the inside pocket of my coat for on-person charging.
2) It takes an age to charge. This is an unfortunate side effect of the battery size and the fact that it uses micro-usb to charge. In order to charge fully it requires an overnight charge with two Micro-USB cables plugged in. I would have much preferred if they had included a USB-C port to allow for charging of the device and of USB-C devices (such as the iPad Pro with its USB-C to USB-C cable) as well as faster charging for the battery pack.
So, if you are looking for a battery pack which is lighter and fits in a pocket or a small bag – this may not be for you but there are plenty of fantastic alternatives from Anker and other suppliers. If you are looking for something which can charge a laptop, an iPad and a phone all in one, that you want for travelling or that you don’t mind lugging around – you cannot do better than this.
I bought this powerbank because I trust the brand as I own just one bluetooth wireless headphones from Anker adn have never experienced any issues. When the opportunity came to buy a powerbank in the black Friday sale, I chose to buy this fast charging one…and omg…I was blown away! It’s worth every penny. Those days are gone where you patiently check your phone every 5 mins and only see that it goes up by 1% . This is worth its weight in gold. I use it regularly and feel safe leaving home knowing that my phone/kindle/bluetooth headphones will all be ok.This powerbank has come with me to 4 destinations, although heavy in weight its truly worth it. It was oddly satisfying to know my partners cheaper powerbank couldn’t keep up- As they say, buy cheap pay twice. You can leave it uncharged for up to two weeks with regular use, which is good because you never have to remember to charge it, but bad if you’re thinking you’re carrying additional weight for nothing. I wish was there was an in between! Other powerbanks tended to charge my bluetooth wireless headphones initially then after leaving it in your bag the other powerbank goes into standby and stops charge, with all 3 different powerbanks- No problems with Anker! Buy and trust Anker always! Don’t waste your time and energy with all the cheaper versions no matter how enticing the price drop is, you’ll be the one who is left with a sub standard product long after the excitement of the price drop wears off. You’ll be the one asking for replacements 6 months down the line. They just don’t last as long! if its not the cable, it’s the bank..I would know, I had 3.
I bought this battery after owning a small lipstick size one and a 10.000 mAh one from Anker.
I already knew they would last a long time and as it was on offer I took the plunge for those weekends that I might be camping with friends and we all needed several phone charges (it has three USB out plugs which is a true bonus as we often have two iPhones and an iPad or GoPro camera to recharge overnight)
The main feature I would recommend this battery for is the speed at which it is recharged thanks to the dual charging input. I am truly impressed, it charges twice as fast as my old 10.000mAh one… and that makes al the difference as I was often deterred from taking it with me as my old one was still charging most of the times even after having plugged in overnight. I suspect the battery to charge much more slowly when not using a fast dual imputes charging brick like the one I have… so maybe not ideal for recharging on the go with a basic iPhone charger or the 12V in the car…
It is otherwise a relatively large item which I would not necessarily take with me every day, but which given the amount of charges it contains can save a travelling couple quite a bit of issues with recharging devices on the go.
Would absolutely recommend as a long-lasting filming/camping/travelling backup battery. It is sturdy (made of metal) and easy to use.
If I were to find a minor gripe in it is that, given its large capacity, I would have provided it with more than 4 LEDs as it is not granular enough a meter to understand whether it is closer to 75% or to 50% and this can lead to more frequent recharging out of fear of the juice running out.
It’s a nice piece of kit and I’ve decided to keep it but I haven’t yet managed to get it to full capacity via an Anker power adaptor I already had for their Bluetooth speaker. It is a huge capacity and I presume the reason it takes so long to replenish. Be prepared for many hours wait to recharge from flat or close to flat. It does however work quickly to recharge even three devices plugged in at the same time. I could not manage to recharge it at all just using a USB source instead of the mains adaptor. In hindsight I would have chosen a portable charger with a lower capacity and the ability to be charged much quicker from a mains source.
UPDATE: Anker have been very quick to discuss these issues with me and I am very positive about their help. They provided me with a dual port charger which I have tested and found that the PowerCore does recharge in around six hours from flat. This is acceptable to me given that the capacity of this portable charger is huge. Just using any old USB charger – I tried a couple – did not result in a quick recharge so I recommend this device – Anker USB Charger 4.8A/24W 2-Port USB Wall Charger and PowerIQ Technology. There is an extra cost of course and it is up to the customer to decide. I recommend to Anker that this be included in their kit in the future. Trickle charging from a PC or laptop using the USB cord/s provided is unlikely to recharge the PowerCore sufficiently or in sufficient time. I have revised my star rating to four because I believe Anker have helped to resolve the issue for me.
Anker USB Charger 4.8A/24W 2-Port USB Wall Charger and PowerIQ Technology for iPhone 8 / iPhone 8 Plus / iPhone X / iPhone 7 / 6 / 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 / mini 3, Samsung Galaxy, Nexus, HTC M9, Motorola, LG and More
Do not over-specify your needs, though, as like me, if you are greedy for capacity you may still have a long recharge wait! Buy a smaller capacity if it meets your portable needs.
This thing is a beast, it just keeps going and going! I have four other Anker portable chargers which are all smaller than this and all work great, but for Glastonbury Festival I wanted to make sure I had enough power to charge my iPhone 7+, my wife’s iPhone 7 and my Sony RX100M4 camera so I bought this extra capacity battery pack too.
It takes a while to charge, but unlike some of my other Anker battery packs this has dual input charging so you can take advantage of double speed charging which is handy. Once fully charged this has more than enough capacity to charge your iPhone 7+ around six times, maybe more. I’ve never used it to exclusively charge one device only, but I know that it packs enough charge to keep my iPhone 7+, my wife’s iPhone 7, my Sony RX100M4 and two Garmin Fenix 5 watches topped up for a week away which is very impressive.
There’s no getting around the fact that to hold this much charge it has to be big and heavy, that’s just the nature of the current battery technology. I keep a smaller 10,000 mah pack in my wife’s handbag for emergencies on a long trip.
If you are only going to be away from power for a day or two you might want to consider the smaller, lighter models on offer but if you’re away in the wild for several days and need to charge your phone, ipad, Sony cameras (and any other USB charging cameras) then this is the model to get.
For completeness this works perfectly with the following devices, all tried and tested by me
iPhones (all models)
iPads (all models including my 12″ iPad Pro)
Sony RX100 (all models)
Sony A6xxx (all models)
Garmin Fenix (all models)
I forgot to mention, it also charges things super fast, if I need to quickly top up my iPhone battery before heading out I’ll often use this because it seems to charge my iPhone faster than some older iPhone wall chargers, faster than charging off a laptop or computer USB socket and faster than my car cigarette charger too.
I purchased this and it arrived well protected without any problems. The product was in the typical recyclable anker box, which included: the powercore 26800 charger, an anker micro USB cable, the anker 18 month warranty and a happiness guide.
As always with anker, this is a great quality product, the charging is quick and it holds a lot of charge. There are 3 usb ports which can be used individually or all at once. The dual input charging halves the charging speed of the charger which in some cases can be helpful, however i rarely need to quickly charge my power bank so i do not need to use it as much (it can get warm when dual charging is being used)
Naturally, the quality of this battery pack does not feel as good as the powercore 26800+, which is the premium version offered by anker. The premium version does not offer dual input charging however it has qc quick charge capabilities and feels more sturdy, despite being more expensive this may be a product to consider.
Overall this is a great charger, in my opinion is it definitely worth it to pay a slightly larger price for an anker charger rather than others offered by the competition. The customer service for anker is fantastic and you will always be given a pleasing response.
Personally, on Amazon I rely on customer feedback to determine the true value of an item, therefore when making a purchase i am dedicated to providing a valuable review to the consumer. I spend time using each item that I review to give a clear and thorough opinion of the item. All reviews of this product are my personal opinion on my experience with the item. I hope that this review is helpful to you and will help you in making your decision. Thank You.
I was looking for the largest capacity power bank I could find to recharge to both my iPhone 5S and a Motorola Android ‘phone at the same time, and have the extra socket to charge my partner’s / another phone if needed. I play a lot of the MMO game “Ingress”, and find that the battery on my phone runs flat in just a few hours with the screen on all the time, and so when attending a “Mission Day” or other all-day event, it’s important to have a means to recharge on the move, “in the field”, rather than having to rely on the kindness of stores like “Eat” and “Starbucks” for a charge.
I have Ingress-playing friends who have Anker power banks and swear by the brand, so it was one I made a point of looking for and decided to buy despite the higher price compared to some others, plus it was one of the only ones at this price which had the three USB out sockets I wanted. I’d also read up on the speed of recharging from these larger-capacity power banks and so looked for one that had something akin to a “deliver as much power as the device can handle” systems, and which this has in the shape of Anker’s “PowerIQ” feature.
In the same way, I’d also read that the larger capacity banks take far longer to charge (obvious really) but I liked this Anker one as it boasted two separate USB input sockets (microUSB) enabling you to use two chargers / two USB outputs to charge the power bank simultaneously.
Comes packed in a nice cardboard box, containing the device, user guide, two short microUSB to USB leads, and a rather inadequate (IMHO) travel pouch.
When it was received it was showing 50% charged (two out of the four LEDs lit when the “enquiry” button was pressed), and using two high powered mains to USB chargers, I saw it charge to full capacity in just a few hours.
In-use, it’s fine; it charges three devices of mine simultaneously with no issues, and that’s a mix of Motorola, Apple and LG-branded ones. Can’t really say how much actual “true” capacity it has or how many times it will recharge device x on one full charge at the moment, as it’s not had the use yet. If after having used it for some time and if I feel it doesn’t deliver, I’ll post back here.
Pros;
-3 x USB outputs for 3 device charging simultaneously
-Intelligent charging
-Double recharge facility.
-Solid build quality.
-Nice follow up email from Anker via Amazon asking if everything was OK following it’s purchase.
Cons;
-It’s heavy… I knew what it weighed when I ordered it, but I’d hoped I’d be able to drop it into my coat pocket and leave it there for emergencies, but at half a kilogram you really feel it. Not an issue so much if you are intending to carry it in a shoulder bag, but I’d say consider that, perhaps even putting something of a similar weight in your jacket / coat / bag etc to see how it will feel, before you buy.
-No charger is included, although Anker do sell a suitable one. To get the most from this lump of battery you really need to have two high watt output USB chargers. I already had two Dell mains to USB plugs that are designed to run either a laptop or normal USB device from and which are capable of delivering up to 22w. These work great with it. If you just have two standard 5v 500mah chargers, you’re going to see some HUGE recharge times, so bear that in mind too.
-The travel pouch isn’t very good; it’s a basic “string pull top” bag, and if like me, you really want to put leads and emergency plugs with it to form a “charging kit” for travelling, you can’t fit much else in it.
-It comes with two USB to MicroUSB leads which I’m guessing are intended to be used to recharge the device itself. Both are short, thin types and don’t look to be that great quality. What I’d like to have seen is three leads; one for each socket out but that two of could still be used for charging the device itself, or no leads at all (after all, there’s no charger plugs included) and a reduction in the price however small. Most people buying one are very likely to already have a USB to device cable they would be using with it.
For those reasons, I feel it drops to 4 stars. Most of them aside, perhaps bar the slow charging with standard USB to mains plugs, if it was just that bit lighter I would rate it 5.
