It’s very good for the price, although it is a bit heavier than I expected…. Works well as a replacement cable for Occulus!

Physically, the cable isn’t flimsy like a standard phone charger. It does come packaged as a coil but it doesn’t take long to wear it into shape and comes with a Velcro strap attached to keep it at the length you need it.
Upon testing the speeds of the 6ft version with the Oculus PC app, it can handle the Link feature fine as Oculus has stated on their site. But only at 2.0Gbps and NOT the 5Gbps advertised on here. To be fair (again, in my experience with the ‘meh’-length 6ft cable) I am using the USB 3.0 port at the front of my PC case instead of any of the motherboard 3.0 ports.

As for using this as a normal charger, it works just fine. My S22 Ultra receives fast-charging with it, so long as it is plugged into an outlet that can produce the required 25-45W

I digress slightly, but overall – get the 10ft version. I only really suggest the official Link cable if you genuinely need the extra 6ft of cable

The 6ft length is decent if you’re only using the headset in stationary/sitting Guardian Boundaries directly next to your PC/laptop for games that don’t require much bodily movement (i.e. Sim racing: Dirt Rally 2 & F1; Some FPS and ‘Fitness’ games, depending on various other situations: Pavlov VR [Pavlov Shack beta, as is know on the Oculus store] & Beat Saber.

The photo shows this 10ft Anker cable (on the left) and the old 6ft ravpower cable (on the right, the same thickness as other charging cables I’ve had before) that finally gave up the ghost after several years. This one is impressively weighty! Takes up more space, even when coiled, but I can see it lasting a good while and surviving quite a battering from everyday use.

I haven’t tried it in the fast charging plug, but plugged into a standard usb slot on an extension cable it charged my phone just fine at “normal” speed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very thick cable!

This is a good quality cable which certainly charges our phones miles faster than the ones we’ve been using. Perfect for the car.

With this cable my devices charge at their higher rate, so in that respect the cable does its job well. The cable is only 0.9m, the full 1m would be better – I know it’s only 10cm but that would make a big different. As for its relaibility, only time will tell, but I’ve never had issues with Anker cables in the past.

Well I always do my research before buying anything including reading reviews, so when it came to buying this cable it was the right choice, if you are looking for a longer cable this cable is perfect for reaching from one side of room to other, it is durable and built to last. I will not be removing it because it is the cable for my MagSafe 3 in 1 charger for my Apple Watch, AirPods, iPhone. So not sure how it would deal if being plugged and unplugged all the time but it does look like it can handle anything. Anker is great brand from which I have purchased products from before for many years now which have always been great value and quality.

    Good quality cable.

Bought other Anker stuff before and always quality stuff.

Not sure if this carries more than 1A as that’s all my phone ever takes but I can tell you the cable is very thick like tow rope. Lol.

To be honest I’d prefer the regular thickness cable so just to let people know.

Well after a lot of searching for a compatible cable for my VR headset I decided on this.
It is very think and sold cable but this also means that it is not have the flexibility of thinner cables . I found my self getting pulled back towards my computer even with lots of cable left to play with.
Still a good product and cheaper than the official cable.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is far cheaper than the official Occulus Link cable and it performs exactly the same function.

I’ve not had any dropouts or problems with the quality of the video or audio that gets sent to the Quest 2 via this cable, however you should note that the amount of charge delivered to it via this cable is unfortunately not enough to keep the headset charged during use.

I started playing Skyrim VR at around 80% battery. After an hour of play, the battery had gone down to 64%. Granted, this is a far better outlook than if you were to play via air link on battery alone, but it is disappointing as I had expected it to at least stop the battery from depleting when the cable is connected.

I suppose getting around 6 hours of play time with the cable connected is an okay result. I don’t know anyone who plays VR for 6 hours straight, so maybe it’s a non-issue for most people.

I bought this cable to use for VR, after having bad experiences with other cables I picked up this one. Trusting the Anker name I expected it to be the better purchase. It’s great.

Worked out of the box, reported 4Gbit/s speed on a 5Gbit/s port – You’d expect some drop off anyway. Display was silky smooth. I can finally enjoy VR on my PC.

The Cons are unlike the cable it is replacing it doesn’t have a 90degree connector. This doesn’t affect the functionality, just makes knocking it while playing a little more likely and perhaps a bit of additional stress on the port. This can be fixed though by getting a 90degree adaptor. So I guess I know what I’ll be buying next.

I recently bought a capture card to stream Nintendo switch content to my social media and for some reason I was getting an error stating “this device must be connected to a USB 3.0 port” which made me confused as it was. Turns out the cable I was using was not powerful enough and couldn’t support the 3.0 power.

HOWEVER, this cable can do exactly that. This cable worked straight away out of the box and did exactly what I wanted it to do and saved me refunding my capture card. Cable looks solid and feels durable. Thanks Anker, very nice.

This is my second cable i tried (other one i tried was a fasgear make), and i still got the connected, but a black screen in my headset.
If you have a laptop, please take note, this might fix it for you.
Laptops have 2 graphic cards, one built into the cpu, and the other more powerful discreet gpu.
Oculus quest will try to use on board graphics which gives you the black screen.
You need to force it to use the more powerful gpu, i did this by going to device manager, down the list click on display, you will see 2 gpu’s there, right click on the on board weaker card, and click disable. That’s it, after that my link cable works fine.
Other things to note are it does not have a right angle connection, which would be better, and it is quite a thick , stiff cable.

    *Only relevant for oculus users*

Good sturdy cable for the the oculus quest 2, although should have got a slightly longer cable. My main complaint is it won’t charge the headset but it does slow the battery drain down so you will get more playtime on the quest. Also the usb C side isn’t angled so it sticks out of the headset instead of being flush with the side like the official cable, so you lose a bit of cable length.

All in all this is a good cable and I understand this cable was designed more for phones but as oculus website recommend this cable as an alternative to the official one I thought it bwould be relevant for some potential buyers.

Got this mostly for the Quest 2 as a link cable and does a good job of charging and data transfer rate. My only issue is that it’s built TOO well, and by that I mean the cable itself is very thick, heavy and stiff which adds extra weight to the headset on one side and has a tendency to pull itself free. You can use the attached cable management velcro to wrap around the headset band but this isn’t a sure fire solution and adds even more Weight to one side. If you want a link cable I’d suggest maybe a different one.

  20. RosellaVillalob says:

Works as a cheaper alternative to the link cable for the quest 2. It’s a thick heavy wire, you notice it’s there even when you attach it to the head straps with the cable tie provided.
It’s not perfect but considering the price difference this is definitely usable. I would reccomend getting a better head strap than the standard one if you’re planning to use this cable. The standard headstraps are uncomfortable enough without the extra weight. For sim racing games it’s great, for games that you need to turn your physical body a lot, it’s a little awkward.

As a general cable i’ve had no issues with it, but I got this on the recommendation of using as an oculus quest link cable, and while it does work for that, it’s just a tiny bit shorter than i’d want after running it to the back of a pc, and borderline when on a front usb port, and not having a 90 degree connector just makes the weight distribution on the headset feel worse than it needs to be as it really hangs off the side being quite a thick cable. I did consider trying to take off some pressure by clipping it to my waist but there just isn’t enough length to the cable to do that nicely, so I can’t fault the cable for general use but for the oculus quest it doesn’t seem the best way to go.

  22. JeannieForro says:

I bought this to use with my Oculus Quest 2 and it works very well. It has great response times and can easily view games in high resolution.
The cable is very durable as it has sometimes got pulled out of the headset whilst playing but the connector is still in great condition. I have also ran over the wire a couple times with my chair and the it just carried on working like nothing had happened.
The only downside is that the cable is very stiff and not very flexible meaning that sometimes it goes across your body and it is difficult to move it out of the way.

Overall I would highly recommend as a cheaper alternative to the official link cable from oculus.

I bought this for my new Quest 2. Apart from the straight rather than angled plug it works absolutely fine. Does the Oculus original work better? I don’t know. And I won’t be spending 90 to find out, either. I’ve not had any problems with this and, even though it’s not supposed to do a good job of charging as you play, it keeps mine running much longer than the battery does.
Great for games like Elite, not so hot on its own for moving around as it is a wee bit short, but you can get extensions and still be spending less than that Oculus original. Much less. Plus, then you don’t have to using such a long cable when you don’t need the movement.

After contacting Anker about the problem in the old review they have helped me to fix this problem with a new wire to me. This one works perfectly well and is stable and reliable. My only negative is that the wire itself is quite heavy but that is to be expected from 10 feet of wire being carried around with you. Overall now, the service of Anker is great and the new wire works well.

    (Below is my old review.)

So far I have bought the item for my Oculus Quest to connect from my computer to the headset. But for some reason the wire is very temperamental and does not hold a connection to my quest. So far I would rate the item poorly as they say it works with the quest however it did not for me.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersWorks really well with the oculus quest right off the bat did the job considering the times we are in i only ask anker two small things with this cable please make an adjustment to the usb c end to a 90 degree angle so that it sits perfectly along the side of the headset unfortunately i had to buy an adapter (picture above without the adapter and with it)which works with this cable made it so much better as before the cable was sticking out what felt like half a meter while using the headset so a change to the angle would help massively to safely use it without damaging the cable and the port of the headset while waving your arms about in vr lol, second thing id like to ask is please make a reallllly long version like 20m or more my vr setup requires i would say at least that maybe a little more

I love anker products, when I got my new phone with a USB c port I was like cool be able to try out one of there new cables.

I originally had one of the usb 3.0 to micro USB cables braided with the red nylon and wanted the same Brading on my current one but if I wanted usb 3.0 transfer speeds I had to sacrifice the red braid.

The cable is thick and feels like good quality. If you want your cable to stay a certain way this cable is perfect but its never straight. The braided version provides much more flexibility but,

overall this cable is study, major issue free and provides a full fast speed charge for my s10 while providing up to 5gbps speeds.

I bought this cable with the intended purpose of using its length and capability with USB 3.0 for my Oculus Quest as a means to do Oculus Link – linking the headset to your PC so one can use it like a HTC Vive or Oculus Rift. The cable accomplishes this well.

That being said, I have had issues both with the weight of the cable, but mainly the sound of electricity when the cable is unplugged and when it touches pretty much anything, which is fairly concerning when plugging and unplugging the cable to my headset. The cable also has a tendency to fall out due to the weight of the cable itself.

Should you be looking to get a cable for using Oculus Link with your Quest, this one will do the job but I would recommend looking for one with the 90′ angle so the cable has more of a chance of staying plugged in whilst in use.

Golden Review Award: 46 From Our UsersI’ve tried several USB 3 to Type-C cables with Oculus Link and only really had great success with the Anker cables. I already own a 1m version of the PowerLine cable which proved excellent for both charging and data transfer but was way too short to use for Oculus Link.

I decided to purchase the 10ft/3m version which should give a little more freedom with Quest Link. The cable arrived in a fairly standard Anker box, like many of their other products. The cable is much thicker and slightly less flexible than the 1m variant of the cable – I’ve attached a comparison photo. I suspect this cable is probably better shielded and has thicker cable cores to reduce interference and voltage drop over longer lengths. There are moulded plugs at each end of the cable and a removable velcro strip that can be used for cable tidying.

After plugging the cable into my PC and Oculus Quest the PC software detected the Quest connected at USB 3 so was good to go for Oculus Link. I was then able to play regular Oculus Rift games using the Quest whilst seated.

Unfortunately Anker don’t make a 4m or 5m version of this cable (that I could find) and you really need that sort of length for room scale VR. What did surprise me was that I connected the 3m Anker PowerLine cable to a UGREEN Active USB 3 5m Extension cable (ASIN B01FQ88CE6) and Oculus Link still worked perfectly, essentially providing me with an 8m cable for room scale VR!

    Highly recommended!

    Pros:
    – Works perfectly with Oculus Link
    – Good quality cable and construction
    – Velcro cable tidy
    – I was able to extend Oculus Link to 8m using UGREEN Active USB 3 5m Extension cable (ASIN B01FQ88CE6) without any problems

    Cons:
    – The cable is much thicker than the Anker PowerLine 1m cable

5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly with Oculus Link for the Ques

The packaging of the cable was nice, very well presented, upon cutting the tape on the outer box the cable was immediately visible neatly tied with an Anker branded reusable cable tie, a nice addition.

Upon removing the cable from the box the first thing that stood out to me was the thickness of the cable.

The cable is very thick and not very flexible, now this could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the use case, however, I haven’t found there to be an issue and it feels really well made. The thicker cable is better for me as it does not tangle as easily and coils very neatly for traveling.

The thickness and rigidity are comparable to a solid core cat5 cable if you are a techy kind of person you will know what I mean.

The connectors on either end of the cable are very solid and don’t feel plasticky and flimsy as some other cables can do. I’m sure most people have encountered a weak connector in their time…. cough… cough… Apple.

As for data speeds, I sadly cannot comment as I have only used the cable for charging up devices. I specifically purchased this cable for use in charging my new Nintendo Switch and for this it works perfectly.

As previously stated I am a fan on Anker products. That doesn’t mean I’m some sort of obsessive fanboy who blindly buys without research or consideration of other brands!
What it implies is that Anker is a brand I continuously trust to deliver top quality and very reliable products.
I wanted a long cable for my new S8, giving me more flexibility to use the phone when charging at a socket that may not be situated right next to where I am.

This 10ft cable is perfect… the main cable itself is very thick and sturdy; offering great resilience against damage whilst also being flexible and easy to manoeuvre.

As with all Anker cables, they come with a clever little velcro style tie around the cable, so you can coil it up small and use it to secure the cable whilst travelling or for storage.

The connectors themselves feel very solid and i have no worries about them coming loose after repeated use.

Using the original charger, this long cable still delivers the optimum fast charge, exactly as per the (rather flimsy in comparison!) original Samsung cable.

    Very happy.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAnker products are always my go to for charging cables and other similar electronics and this cable demonstrates why. The build quality of the cable is strong and durable, it charges my phone faster than any of my other cables, and the data transfer speeds are thanks to the USB 3.0. My only minor gripe with this cable is that the cable is very thick which makes bending it at more extreme angles impossible which made it unsuitable for the phone stand I had in mind but I just used this cable elsewhere and I would highly recommend this cable to anyone looking for a general use, long durable cable.

    Pros:
    – Strong cable
    – Charges fast
    – Transfers data fast
    – Very long

    Cons:
    – The cable doesn’t bend very easily which can cause issues with certain stands

This cable is a great alternative to the cable you get in the box of your new USB-C device. The cable is tough, durable and the heads of the USB3.0 and the USB-C are well protected and do not feel flimsy or a poor quality fitting. Being USB-C, it is a reversible charging cable. You don’t have to worry about if your putting thecable in the right way in the dark or when your in a hurry. Just Plug and Charge.

I have used my cable for around 15-20 uses so far and I keep it wrapped up using the provided velcro straps to keep the cable wound together, and out of the way when in use or not in use. This is a little touch that Anker provides for many of their cables, I like my areas tidy so this is great for me. This cable does support fast charge devices such as my Huawei P9 and other fast charge/supercharge devices. The length of the cable is long enough at 6ft for my needs. I have Anker USB charging hubs which have around 1-2m (3-6ft) on the power cable so this more than enough in total.

Overall, the PowerLine USB-C cable is a great product in which will last you a long time with its durable properties and super fast transfer rates using USB3.0 as well as being a reversible charger in which is more straight forward for the consumer. I would recommend this product whoever is looking an extra cable to satisfy your needs.

After having ordered some USB cables from another manufacturer online where the connector had come loose from the main cable, I did some research to find out whether Anker cables had the same issue and thankfully none were reported.

I thus ordered 2x of the 6ft USB C cables and have found them to be very good with value added items such as velcro cable ties which have been attached to the cable itself so you don’t end up losing them – very nice touch ! For those of you who may be concerned with regard to the product recall – I can confirm that the cables I received were sealed and not the same product type as the recall – so no concerns there.

I’m always interested in finding good manufactures for products and did some more research into Anker – surprisingly I actually already have a few of their products such as their USB charger and also memory card reader – both products which I haven’t had any problems with.

So why the 4 stars instead of 5 ? Well to be honest the problem isn’t wholly at Anker’s door – I bought this cable as I have an Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe with a Tudia case, and the connector on the Anker cable has quite a large rim on it which means that if you try to plug it into the phone, the connector hits/rubs against the case and you end up getting a power only connection until you jiggle the connector a bit or use a bit of force to push the connector in all the way (I don’t really want to start using force on a brand new phone).

For those who are interested, the cable that I got eventually which had a much narrower bezel which didn’t have this problem is the iSPECLE Nylon Braided cable – although it’s also worthy to note that Anker continuously improve their product (I contacted them to let them know the issues I experienced) so by the time you buy this product it may well have been modified to have a smaller bezel.

The same thing has happened to me with HDMI cables – the manufacturers put the ports too close to each other and some cables have too large a rim which means you can’t plug the cables of the same type next to each other as they don’t fit. Other than that I have no issues with this cable – very good

So far so good, excellent product. Fast charging of my HTC 10 (I think as fast as the original one), fast transfer of files, pics and docs from/to phone/PC, sturdy cable and white which matches my silver/white phone unlike the original HTC cable which is black so used at work where the colour does not offend me that much.
The only issue I have with this cable for now is that it is only 90 cm long which I had not realised as described in ft not in cm and I thought somehow that it was one metre or a bit more. It’s ok to use on the desk with my laptop but when charging it from the wall for the fast charging, as my wall socket is just a tad too far away from my furniture I have to leave the phone on the floor/on a pile of books.

I would recommend it. Anker has never failed me so far and it is my third Anker product (in addition to this cable I have a normal USB charger and a wireless vertical mouse).

  35. PamPerduehs says:

Very simple unboxing procedure, as it always is with Anker products, this is PowerLine, the finish and quality of these products is second to none, I have many cables for USB-C, lightning, Micro USB, from many manufacturers and original cables, for my galaxy s6 and 6P. The quality of these surpasses them all.

As you will see in my picture, the cable is held in place by two velcro straps, that actually wrap around an individual cable with a smaller velcro piece so they do not fall off in daily use, I am saying velcro but I strongly believe it is something else and it is much more efficient than velcro, there is no sound and it secures it better. I already have a few of these from Anker and I can honestly say it also holds up better. The fact that they put thought into the ‘thing’ that they use to hold their cables together and it is of such high quality whilst other manufacturers use those twisty plastic things or nothing, allows me to place even more faith and respect into Anker for the quality they provide

Obviously, this is for anyone with a USB-C device, the 6ft cable, which I have is perfect for you if you like to sit on your bed and have it trail to the power outlet, general users and specifically if like me you are a stickler for cable management and like having a clean desktop this will reach around and make it very easy without you having to worry about damaging, snagging or trapping the cable, its PowerLine people, I don’t think I will every say goodbye to my PowerLine cables.

Overall, I am very happy with this product, it is presented simply, I hope to see a braided version in the future, hopefully, a different colour to PowerLine+ Micro USB and Lightning so it is easy to differentiate between them all, perhaps PowerLine+ USB-C? I would recommend this product to anyone who needed one, every time!

Do not let this deter you but, I was supplied a sample for test and evaluation, I will be sending it back as I do already have one and I actually accidentally chose this for review, but even if I didn’t, this review would be and is, honest.
