Lovely paint set to use. Bought as a treat for myself and use most weeks. The pans are vibrant and well pigmented. The range of colours is fabulous and saves on mixing. Would recommend!
I purchased this as a gift for someone who has only started into watercolour mediums. This palette has enabled her top produce some very vibrant and beautiful pieces of work. I would recommend this to other fellow artists as it has been one of the better watercolour palettes I have been able to get my hands on.
It’s a beautiful set, also includes aquarelle paper! I haven’t done any painting in years ,I used to acrylic, but I thought I’ll try aquarelle. I looove that painting of Tuna fish that this girl painted on reviews, it actually inspired me Thank you Artistro and the girl
Lovely watercolour set with water brush, paint brush, sponge and mixing wells. Includes some metallic and some luminous colours so it’s very versatile as a travel set in a nice tin and comes with some sheets of watercolour cut to the same size as the tin.
Perfect selection of watercolours. I’ve used this at my desk, on a workshop, and out in nature. Nice and compact, handy to chuck in my bag along with a bottle of water and I have all I need.
Really like how compact this set is. I’ve never used watercolours before but love how the colours turned out on the sample card. I tried using them but as you can see I used the wrong paper user error and not an issue with this product, which I would recommend!
The paint is nice with nice colours and the box is super cute (and the main reason I bough it, am using it as a pallette for some of my other paints.)
but as of now, I’m leaving 4 stars for presentation and packaging.
Everything is beautifully packaged, the case is very handy and fits all necessities to get started with painting.
I haven’t touched any type of paint since about 20 years, and I was aware of what I’m getting when buying Artistro.
There are many mixed reviews, but I can’t agree with most negative ones, because you get everything in 1 beautiful pack, the paper supplied with the kit is very high quality, literally the perfect type of paper for watercolour paints.
When it comes to painting, the quality of paper is crucial, even with very good paints but poor quality paper you won’t be able to do much. The paper supplied is a small size, but who said you have to always paint on big canvas? It’s just up to preference, after reading the description you obviously should know what you’re getting, and you can always buy some more paper separately.
Although I’ve seen harsh reviews on YouTube, saying that this kit isn’t at all worth it and it’s better to spend more money on expensive stuff, I absolutely can’t agree with those!
In contrast, look up on YouTube Artistro Meringue tutorial”, and you will find a review of the travel set, and you will see that these paints aren’t as bad as some people say they are. As long as your batch is fine, these are definitely usable
That being said, this of course is not a professional kit for professional artists, but it is a great kit for beginners who are just getting started, or just don’t really know what they want, or just want to play around. It would also make a great gift for kids who enjoy art.
Overall, for what you’re getting, I would recommend for anyone who wants to start creating.
I will update my review with some pictures later after I’ll get used to these, because for now as a total beginner, there’s no point uploading just some random splashes of paint.
The package includes:
– 48 beautiful watercolour paints, including 4 metallic
– a sponge
– an eraser
– a pencil
– a waterbrush
– a fine brush for details
– 10 sheets of small size 300gsm watercolour pape
This is perfect for any artist. Colours are great, and the packaging is just so aesthetic. I loved it so much I ended up buying another one for my mother who is an artist too. Highly recommend it.
i decided to get back into traditional art years after school and decided this set would be a good place to start.
the metal tin was damaged on arrival due to delivery which also damaged inside but i contacted the company who replied back almost immediately offering a replacement to be sent out which arrived the next day without having to return the original!
i’ve only swatched the colours and done a quick paint to test so far but am pleased with it for sure.
I’m a beginner in watercolour but my first impression is very good. The tin contains all you need to get started. The pigments gives very good coverage (I tried all colours on the test paper that came with the set). Only reason for 4 stars overall is the metallic and neon. The neon may be a bit unfair because I don’t like neon under any circumstances, but the metallic seems to need at least 2 layers to get the depth I’m looking for but I’ve only tried to paint a small square so I may change my mind as I get to use them more
Very nicely pigmented colours and a wide range of tones too, I brought these during my A levels and they always got the job done to the standards I needed them to. They come in a beautiful case too so that you can take it wherever you need without any hassle, they are very smooth when applying them to the paper and they don’t bleed either like many other watercolours tend to do!
Artistro as a brand is high quality but affordable.
I never liked watercolour as a medium as I thought it couldn’t be vibrant. I was very wrong.
This is a good quality set. Very highly pigmented.
It is so handy as it comes with everything in the set if you want to do art on the move that is.
I’ve enjoyed using this on-going
If you like quality ease of use and affordable then this is the paint set for you.
I’ve bought this as a gift, so I have just opened it and looked at contents.
Looks exactly as advertised, I’m pleased to say. The tin is a beautiful colour, well thought out design inside. No hesitation in giving this as a gift.
So often I have bought items as gift only to realize, once seen in real life, that I can’t. Just not giftable quality. No such problems here. Its gorgeous and I know it will be well received. Very happy with my purchase.
I needed a better set of watercolours with more colour options than my original travel tin. This had gorgeous range of colours that comes with a pen brush, watercolour brush and eraser etc. High pigments, really hold on the paper well. I dont use the brush provided but the brush with the inbuilt water resevoir you just squeeze would be useful if out and about! My only criticism is the brush its a bit cheap… so as a professional artist I would recommend you buy decent brush and enjoy your paints!
edit: after 7 weeks of using these paints I had to return to upgrade my review! I have been really enjoying the metallic colours in the palette….and if you add them to the right colours you can have ANY metallic colour in your work! My latest painting of Tuna I added the silver to the purples and indigos for their tails, and to the lilacs on the bodies and it gives any work an ethereal touch. I now use the silver in with the base wash in all my fish I also used Gold in with oranges amd reds and it just turns the colour metallic so is a lovely addition.! . I also love the many shades of blue through to purples. There are also flourescent shades and these are like colour boosters. An Excellent palette and well worth the 23.
