My twin boys asked me to buy it so they could organise and secure their drawings. It did not rip or get loose. I have ordered a second one, having filled the first. It has helped them practice and improve on their drawing skills.

I have several (or many) sketchbook but needed this size to keep some print examples in.

This is proving really useful and I’m pleased with it.
It has a sturdy hardback cover which is coping with life in my bag very well!
The paper quality is good, so far it’s handling being glued in, oil pastels, pens and ink very well.
I haven’t yet used it for painting.

I’m happy with it and would happily buy another.
I hope you find this review helpful, thanks for reading.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat overall, though seeing some ink bleeding when using a Sharpie on the paper. Had me concerned as recommended weight for sharpies is 70gsm. Not entirely sure if this is a mistake on my part or theirs but as I said, no major complains overall.

My daughter personalised this sketch book and absolutely loves it! The paper is thick and good quality, would highly recommend.

I have the issue of the book being so nice that I don’t want to fill it with rubbish drawings whilst trying to improve! Good quality paper and binding.

This a bound, hardback book of blank white paper. The paper feels thick, good quality.

It’s a really useful sketch, ideas book and the large format appealed to me. The paper isn’t opaque so can’t trace designs. Good Amazon warehouse deal.

Using this for all types of sketches, love the minimalistic design of it with it being very durable and having a lot of thick and smooth pages. However it isn’t thick enough for my newton promarkers.

This sketchbook is soooo good especially considering the price. Works well with most mediums, however my alcohol markers bled through, which isn’t unexpected and if you’re using watercolour you have to be very careful because it does tear the paper. Nonetheless, still a great, sturdy sketchbook for drawing in 🙂

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI really like that the paper is thick but sometimes if you use an alcohol marker it does bleed but in general it’s really good for markers and pens and has a lot of pages

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersBought this sketchbook to practice Gouache techniques and I’m very pleasantly surprised with it.
At 170gsm it is capable of holding wet paint with no bleed through to the back of the page. Slight warping of the page once dry but nothing too harsh. I’m guessing it would hold acrylic paint well too although I haven’t tried that yet.
Definitely great value for the price, I might just have to buy another one.

Good book, good size. It seems to smudge easy, but I bet they all will when drawing in pencil, and the writing seems to be on the back of the book, which seems odd to me, but overall I’m happy with it to be honest.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI recently bought this sketchbook after my watercolour pad fell apart (oops) and I wanted something much more sturdy that I could track my progress in. The book is really sturdy and well made. The pages are thick but smooth there’s no tooth to them. This is really helpful for pencil sketches and details. The cover is really sturdy and the pages are bound really well they won’t fall out after significant use. I’ve tried a few different mediums in this and I can say that it doesn’t take alcohol markers too well. My ohuhu markers bled through and even marked the page beneath as you can see in the pictures. This doesn’t bother me too much as the markers come with a plastic slip I can use in future to stop any bleeding. The paper does work well for pencil sketching and also using gouache paint (My preferred medium) I haven’t tried watercolour yet on this paper so can’t comment on that. I have also used posca acrylic paint pens on it and it works fine but if you go over the same area a few times it will begin to rip the paper and make little crumbs. Over all this sketchbook works really well for what I want and is a great price and I would recommend it to those who primarily use pencil, gouache or any other type of thicker paint such as acrylic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really wonderful sketchbook for the price!

I bought this for my daughters Christmas, just for fun. The cover was slightly dirty when it arrived, but I bought some graffiti stickers for her to cover it. It’s a sturdy book. Seems well made with plenty of pages.
The pages appear to be thick enough for her to use felt tips/paint.
If your serious about art, probably not the one for you but for child’s play, teenage hobby or for fun, then it’s ideal.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI love this so much! Stumbled across it looking for a specific brand, decided to take a leap of faith and buy this instead as it’s a lot cheaper than said brand.

I would say this is still on the more pricy side so not amazing value for money, however it definitely is worth it. So far I’ve only started pen line drawings on the first couple of pages so I can’t comment on how the paper holds up for wet media, but there’s basically 0% bleed through from Uniball fineliners! Confident that the paper can withstand quite a lot, caution may be needed when painting tho – I seem to remember the label mentioned to not load it up with water too much when using watercolour. But I definitely think I’ll be able to work with acrylics in it without much issue.

The paper is a heavy weight, smooth but has slight texture (which I personally like a lot) and it’s an off-white ivory colour. Similar to moleskin paper but it isn’t a completely flat, smooth surface and has a bit more weight to it.

The book itself can lay out flat too which is great!

I will definitely be back for more of these 🙂

This is a nice little book/journal for a beginner watercolour artist. In that the paper is ok, but not THE best for any serious artworking. Absolutely fine for pencil sketching. Certainly ok for beginners as you can watercolour on this, I say because the papers you will start to get into ie hot pressed/cold pressed etc when you really get into watercolour art will start to determine your final style or painting. I purchased this for my daughter who is 17 and wanted to start to make little sketches and then add a soft watercolour wash finish to them. This is perfect for that.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this sketchbook to have a place to be looser and doodle more often. I work mostly with alcohol markers and the paper has a relatively low bleed compared to other sketchbooks I have used – however like most sketchbooks the colour will show through the page even with light application. Slightly more resistance to this would have improved the rating, since it’s hard to use both sides of the paper when doodling with alcohol markers.
The thickness is just right for easy use without being so thin that it will need quick replacing, and the small leaves mean you can draw close to or over the centre fold on most double-spreads.
The paper also holds relatively well with the light use of acrylic markers, though will not hold up to use on large areas (though this is typical of this kind of paper, and wasn’t expected).

You get what you pay for. The thickness isn’t the best so if you’re looking to be doing anything with paints in this paper then forget about it. Sharpie sort of holds but not really.

It’s quite sturdy, the cover is hard so I don’t worry about it bending and stuff.

Mainly I just use it for doodles, for anything other than that it’s not very good. Hope this helps.

he book is nice and perfecct, however what im pretty disappointed about is paying a ridiculous price for delivery service so pretty much is spent 15 rather than less than 10. A very annoying thing was that i purchased this book on the 4th of jan and the order said that i was supposed to receive this sketchbook on the 6th however the service was delayed to the 7th and 8th and i only recieved the sketchbook today, which means i had to wait for 4 days in total to receive the sketchbook. amazon please if u have given an exact date for delivery, if u delay the delivering service then next time i will refund and buy the book somewhere else. on a good not the sketch book is nice and perfect and i like it, its just the delivery service has to improve.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersOverall I’m quite happy with the sketchbook, I’ve used it for 3 months now and filled it up half way. I really enjoy the square format and the smooth surface of the paper. The hard cover protects it very well. I can’t recommend it for watercolour, inks, markers because the paper can’t take the moisture and it will bleed through and the paper will rub off super easy even with certain erasers and also any tape rips the paper. However as a practice sketchbook with pencils and even Gouache it works fine and is very enjoyable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good practice sketchbook for the price

It has very nice thick white pages, so crease very obviously at the spine, compared to other sketchbooks.
It holds pencil drawing well, but page starts peeling after rubbing out and ‘re drawing fairly easily. Holds biro and thin liner pens well, except liners start bleeding the thicker they are (0.3+) which could be slightly annoying for those who like v accurate fine line precision and skethcing. Markers go on nicely and do bleed through the page the thicker they’re applied- normal reaction with markers in general tho. Doesn’t really hold liquid/waterbased mediums too well. They don’t blend nicely onto the page.
Overall, though it is good quality for the price and suitable for daily sketching and quick idea generation especially when on the go!

Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersI’ve been looking for a new brand of sketchbook to use for a while now, since I use so many different kinds of art supplies, I needed a sketchbook that could handle as many different mediums as possible. This Artway Studio sketchbook is as close to the perfect sketchbook I have found thus far. It handles inks, watercolours, fineliners, colour pencils, acrylic paint, alcohol markers, oil pastels, water based markers etc. in this sketchbook and it has withstood all of it. The only art supply I wouldn’t in here is alcohol based markers due to ghosting on the other side of the page, but that can be covered up with another piece of paper. Overall, I’m extremely impressed with this sketchbook, and i will be buying more!
