This is lightweight and can be used on a low-ish setting. Hair stays sleek, flicked and frizz free for at least 3 days. Can cake the hair into a ball if you are not focused on what you are doing.
This is a well-made and efficient revolving brush from BaByliss. this is my third item. The previous two lasted several years each. It has made it easy to dry my hair with arthritic hands.
Used it today, the day I received it and I love it! I rough dried my hair to about 80% then used it to create volume then straightened and I love the result, it is salon quality. Well worth the money!
Only down quality if I had to give one is the weight of it, I do find it a little on the heavy side.
Gives a great salon blow dry for my bob haircut. I was sceptical but it works so well and once you get use to it, its brilliant So much easier than a hairdryer and brush.
This is a replacement for my other one which lasted years. It does such a good job of styling my hair I cant go away without it. Iv recommended this to family and friends and they have loved it. Great product and lasts for years.
I have used similar before but without the bristles (solid prongs). i think I prefer the previous one which unfortunately broke. My hair gets a little tangled with the bristles ( likely me as I have fine hair but plenty of it).
I have fine shoulder length hair and always struggle to get volume. When I first used it I struggled to get to grips with it. I then checked out online advice and found if I use mousse and almost dry my hair with a hairdryer. Then start to use this by switching it on get it spinning the correct direction then put it on a section of my hair and keep it moving it builds loads of volume. Very impressed.
Very happy with this product!
I would definitely say that you need to attempt practice more than once! It took me about two goes to get into the swing of things, I Wasn’t expecting: 1. For it to get as hot as a hairdryer does! And 2. For the rotation to go so quickly.
I love that it comes with a head case, as when you have finished using and it’s still hot you can place it on to avoid any damage to any worktops. I have layered hair and some face shaping and this is exactly what I wanted to be able to get bouncy blow dry on every use!
Unfortunatly had to return these as they pulled my hair out !!! I expect very good for thick hair but fine soft hair, like mine, not really. I have shoulder length hair so would have been good to bulk up but not this time. I would recommend it for the right hair .
This is my go to item when washing and styling my hair. I have some dexterity issues and the fact you can rotate this brush at the push of a button sloves that problem. I can’t live without this brush as I certainly would struggle without one hence I own two just incase.Easy to use and a great on offer price. Love it.
I used it this morning and it does work really well…smooth rotation and no hair gets stuck
Some of the brush bristles have come off tho so will give it a few more days to double check nothing else comes off.
But i do love it tho!
It works well, dries well, though my hair styled hair stayed with me for an hour, then my curls came back.
Will try to use it in another mode, maybe it will stay longer.
BEST EVER result, but bristles go flat and rotator motor gets tired and slow within around a year.
Excellent result for my full, coarse curly hair. Smooths and creates a big bouncing executive blow dry perfectlyand I’m very fussy; must be smooth and glossy.
Loses a star because the bristles can’t tolerate the combination on heat with necessary tension. I’ve bought 3 in as many years. Also, the motor burns out around this time too despite being as mindful as possible not to strain it.
Just what I wanted. I have a shoulder length cut and I really struggle to blow dry my hair with a round brush and hairdryer. Unlike some other heated brushes, the brush on this one rotates and you can change the direction of the rotation, to suit which side of the head you are styling and if you are wanting to dry under or outwards with a flick, which I find really useful .
I bought this as I have trapped nerves in my neck so only have proper use of one hand,my hair is really long so thought it would be easier for me then blow drying. Let your hair dry naturally then use this. It was tricky at first but better now I’ve worked out how’s best for me to use it ,bristle’s could be stiffer I think but it does the job. I was a hairdresser,so might take you longer to get the hang of it ,as if I didn’t have my problems it would have been a doddle.
Love this. And I’ve gifted it also. I have a bob hair cut and it’s great and curling in the ends to get a salon look. And also for root lift a the front. It’s easy to use has two heat settings but I use on the high always. It’s light and ergonomic and a great price. Would highly recommend.
I bought this dry brush for my mum, I heard about him and my mum needed one I just thought this can be a good gift for her. And I was right. now she uses it with pleasure. At the beginning it was a little hard to use but after she just got used with it and is styling her hair very easy in no time. The only thing I will say it very good for curly hair and short hair, for long straight hair is a little bit useless.
This is my 3rd Babyliss Big Hair Rotating Styling Brush in about 30 years, so they last a good long time, even with a lot of use. I wouldn’t be without mine. I have very fine, straight hair which doesn’t hold a style very easily, but this hair appliance gives my hair a nice lot of body, bounce, volume and shape. I’m not very good at styling my hair, but this styling/volumising brush is brilliant, and is so easy to use, and does what it says on the box. My hair always looks more cared for and better after using this brush. I can highly recommend. Many thanks.
Very light to hold, dries my long hair fast plus curls it at the same time if needed. Bought as I don’t like waiting for hours for my hair to dry.
I love my babyliss big hair. I bought this after my old one, which had a long and happy life, eventually gave out.
These are great for adding volume curling and drying.
The rotating head is fantastic and takes away so much faff. Its the best bouncy blow dry tool you’ll find at this price and its really reliable.
I have tried others, but I keep coming back to the Babyliss. I have had them over many years but they still do what they do best. I tried the Revlon recently but sent it back for this one.
Just what i needed to put volume in my fine hair.
I cannot recommend this product enough as I had one before that lasted me 8 years (without joke), so I am happy to have another one that hopefully will also last me long enough.
Thank you, BaByliss for providing quality!
Have been using this product for years but unfortunately my last one died after many years of use – great hot air rotating brush
I love it. It is so easy to use.
Light and comfortable as well.
I was looking for something to help me manage my thick, long hair and I regret I didn’t buy this product earlier.
Buy it!it is worth every penny.
Fyi,I wanted to by Dyson Air wrap, but I simply couldn’t justify the price to value, and I am so happy I went with this product and save so much money!
I have fairly short hair and find this an excellent brush to have along side my hairdrier. It’s easy to use once you’ve fathomed the direction of the rotation
On the left hand side of hair you need to press the right hand button and vice versa Gives my hair a lift. I do it in nearly dry hair. Haven’t been too successful using from very wet hair. Might just be me though.
Unfortunately they don’t last long. I’m on my 4th one now and i don’t have long hair.
It is as described. Took a few goes to get the technique, but now find it very easy and the results are fab.
Perfect for my fine hair. Styles it really well – very simple to use
Have use this make of babyliss hair brush fir many years..this is the only hair brush I use..this is the best fir my fine short hai
For my short hair needing more shape and volume this is invaluable.
I really like this and this is the third one I have bought. Each has lasted about 4 years. Surely it should last longer?
I have long thick hair and this tool is a great help to make them look as if I used a dryer and a brush. I can’t do my hair and my arms get tired, but with BaByliss Brush it got much easier.
So I wait for my hair to be 90% dry after the wash, separate my hair into upper and lower parts, then separate again, use heat protector and start rolling. I roll this brush inside and outside, so my hair ends get a nice look. Then I do the same with all hair, finishing with styling my long bangs. That’s it.
I think it’s ideal for ladies with slightly wavy hair or damaged hair. My hair is keratin treated and very straight, but still this tool makes them look even nicer.
My wife loves the big brush on this for styling as she has shoulder length hair. Definitely good value for money and a swift well packaged delivery. Would recommend.
This is the best revolving styler ever – I am so worried that they will stop making it that I have stocked up on them, there is NO way I could every imagine using something a separate hair dryer and a brush to get the style that I need and the smoothness that comes with this piece of Magic. One lasts at least 4-6 years so I can imagine the stock I have will see me through this life and the next one too. But with an amazing bob, or styled short hair, it really is fantastic.
This is great in theory but think it’ll take a while to master. The revlon version is mch easier to use as you rotate it yourself. I’m sure I’ll get there with practice though.
Not too sure. The older version was better my hair is frizzy and static. Seems to do something for the moment and next day I’m not sure… It’s frizzy.
It’s alright, there might be a hack to it. Also tends to catch the hair and rip it out.
This has changed my life – well the hair side of things. I have tried for decades to create something resembling what my hair stylist does when she blow dries my hair. Alas, having spent a small fortune on hair driers, brushes, straighteners, lotions and potions, nothing has helped me to come close.
Welcome, Big Hair…
Truly amazing results. Now, it did take me several attempts to get the hang of it but wow, persevere ladies, as the results are well worth the practise.
I have long, very thick, slightly curly and completely unruly hair that has a mind of its own. My senior stylist finds it challenging and none of the younger girls in the salon are ever allowed to even start my blow dry.
I can now achieve that “just walked out of the salon” look on my own house every time!
Follow the instructions! The reviewers who talk about tangling clearly didn’t and don’t understand releasing a button.
Let you hair dry naturally to about 80% dry – this is not a hair drier it’s a styler. Use your favourite heat protector spray / styler, section off and get to it. You won’t regret the effort!
Simply the best hair product I have ever used and I can assure you I have spend a small fortune in my search.
If any of this resonates with you, buy one!
Attractive packaging and product.
The instructions are all text, there are demo videos online from Babyliss. I did it from memory – miserably – and got my hair tangled on the first few attempts. It soon unravelled.
I used the 1st hot setting, just in case i rotated it the wrong way and it rushed close to my scalp, which i did initially.
The dryer sounds like most, a little noisey.
The brush itself is great, although most of my hair ended up towards the handle – my poor technique!
It does straighten and curl towards the end. I could reach the back and even tried with my head upside down so that i could reach it easier but it works better keeping the head the right way up!
The cool setting seem to come on, on its own, or maybe i knocked it. This will stop the wrapping function. No surprise really as the settings bit is a little flimsy.
After a few attempts i got the hang of it and liked it. Exactly the effect it states.
For layered thick hair this would be amazing.
I originally bought one of these when they first came out years ago and once that died I bought another one. Fast forward to that one dying and I decided to twice try something different and it was a huge mistake! The first product I tried was a Remington one and it was just such hard work to get any sort of volume so I gave up with that. Then I was given another (non rotating) hot air brush which actually started off really well but then got recalled because it was a fire hazard! So I learnt my lesson and went back to what I know and I am so glad I did!
The finish that you get with this one is far more like when you go to the hairdressers, which I haven’t for ages now! It gives your hair volume and height if you want it and you can curl your hair under or flick it up. It just takes a little bit of getting used to what you need to do what works for you. My hair is shoulder length, layered and gets very knotty. What I do is shampoo and condition my hair and then go and do something else until it is part way dry and then start styling it. If time is short I rough dry it with a hairdryer first and then use the Babyliss afterwards. As my hair gets so knotty I do have to keep making sure it’s smooth before using this as you don’t want to try and spin knotty hair! There are some good videos online that show you the best way to use this and to get the most out of it and if you follow them you will be amazed at the results.
So, in conclusion, I really recommend this brush. I was foolish to think anything else could be anywhere as good but it’s a mistake I won’t make again.
UPDATE: 22 April 2018
I still highly rate this brilliant appliance BUT the cool setting stopped working after about one month of light use, only 2-3 times a week at most. Have to deduct one star accordingly to be fair. I know I’m not the first person to flag up this fault. Thought it wasn’t a big deal but actually it’s pretty vital to ‘set’ the curl/wave, for my hair type anyway. On another matter, in my opinion the two heating settings are hot to very hot, i.e. not warm to hot so I only ever use the first setting as the second setting is way too fierce for my hair, plus it would take out any last bit of moisture.
DECEMBER 2017: I’ve just used it for the first time and I’m over the moon! I have very fine hair but loads of it and in the right hands, i.e. a great stylist, it can look fab. I’m rubbish at blow drying and styling with a brush at the best of times. But this appliance has just given me that ‘salon’ look: root lift, smooth and shiny hair with NO STATIC just lovely soft waves. I didn’t even pin any of my hair up or back, just dried it to about 80% as per instructions, brushed out a section at a time and got on with it. No tangling or knotting. Tbh I’m really pleased how incredibly easy it is to use, got the knack of it in a flash. If like me you have longish hair your arm will get a bit tired lifting and getting the back in shape but it’s so fast it’s nothing at all. Believe me, if I can produce great looking hair, anyone can. Even my other half was really impressed with the results, very complimentary. It’s banished my bad hair days!
With this wonderful product I can actually blo-dry my hair so it almost looks blo-dried in a salon! (Almost, but not as good as my lovely hairdresser). It has a 50mm diameter barrel with bristles and 3 heat/speed settings. On 2 of the heat settings (hot & hotter) the barrel will spin in the direction of whichever button you have pressed (clockwise or anticlockwise) – see photo 2.
You soon get the knack of knowing which direction button to press. The trick is not to panic if you get the wrong direction, but calmly remove your finger from the button – and then press the other one to smooth everything out fine! (Sounds silly for me to say that but it can be tricky when your’re looking in the mirror!) The third setting is cool air, to ‘set’ a curl or wave in place; for this setting the barrel does not rotate. Using this the waves do stay set a lot longer & with more definition.
There is a ‘cap’ to protect the bristle brush part when not in use or travelling. (In 1st photo). Loose hair will get entwined around the barrel brush which needs to be cleared regularly. There is also a filter at the handle-end to keep clean – all explained in the leaflet supplied (see 3rd photo).
Update: 26.02.17: It comes with a 2 year manufacturer’s guarantee which works, as my barrel stopped turning in its 2nd year. I contacted Babyliss directly and although I had to pay for its return, they provided me with a new one under the Guarantee. This now has the remainder of the original Guarantee period, plus an added 6 months.
I’m completely reliant on it & looked a mess while I waited for the replacement to arrive! But I’ve downgraded to 4 stars because I can’t help feeling that due to the moving parts, plus the fact that you can’t remove the barrel for thorough cleaning, that trapped hair is always going to strain the motor eventually – I can’t imagine it lasting as long as my normal hairdrier, for instance. (I also had a previous, similar Babyliss barrel drier which died just after the guarantee period)..
It is nevertheless a super drier and hair smoother, and avoids the feeling of needing 3 hands! It saves your wrist from constantly turning a brush, so is good if you suffer from arthritis or stiff joints. And I it’s the only way I can get my coarse hair to look remotely smooth.
Couldn’t be without it, hope this one lasts longer!
