My old Babyliss straighteners died last week after over 15 years of weekly use so these had a lot to live up to! Disappointing the cord is a lot shorter I don’t care if it’s in a salon or bedroom if the cord isn’t stretching from one side of room to another so I can grab another comb etc it’s too short. This pair the cord is at least 1m shorter. Huge difference. So bear that on mind if the good mirror is in bathroom but socket is in hallway. On the plus side the coating has changed tremendously so my hair doesn’t feel like it’s being tugged or pulled now and these are lighter. Faint new smell which will burn off and the automatic shut off is a god send for those who don’t use smart plugs for straighteners. Very quick to get my wavy hair straight and pleased with results. One other minor grip these only have 3 heat settings last ones had much more control on temp although let’s be honest never used it as hair was too thick. For some people who have coloured, damaged or fine hair those settings may not be adequate. Oh and I also kept my heat protective mat from last pair of straighteners this mat was much smaller and thinner. Overall for the price very happy and great replacement for my much loved and well used original ones which were just like the famous GHD ones. So these ones for the price I still wouldn’t buy GHD’s.

Brilliant value!!! I love that it heats up almost as quick as ghd and 3 different heat settings. Styles brilliantly. I’ve short hair and it works great, but in the process of growing hair cut into a bob and know it will ge good for that length also. Happy I purchased this instead of expensive ones. Babylis a really good alternative. Thanks Babylis!

Purchased these as my others stopped working after 5 years. Heat up quickly, leave hair sleek and shiny, comes with heat mat which is great as I can roll up and put away once finished. Only downside is the heat button on the side which you can press while using and heat setting changes.

It is a good value for money, but they posotioned the controls on the handle kn a way that when you press on the hair you accieently hit the on/off button.

This straightener heats up very fast, which is perfect for a rush workday morning. It is also a good size for travelling. The heat proof pad is also very useful. I’d apply styling prep then use the straightener, it keeps my hair less fizzy for the day.

Temperature worked fine the first use after that only gets to 205oc and the plates don’t meet have to go over the same section of hair loads to get it straigh

Only thing I find iritating is the power button is where you grip so keep checking for accidental turn offs. I prefer the thinner longer ones where designers have gave us room to grip, style and keep them from turning off when button pressing. all in all they do the job eventually.

Work really well and they’re light and come with a travel wrap so easy to take on holiday. Also the colour is pretty so I always know they’re mine (I work in a gym where evveeerryyyone bring their own straighteners)

As other reviews have mentioned, the plates don’t meet fully unless you press hard, higher up the handle therefore probably not suitable for very fine hair.
The temperature control switch is hard to avoid when holding due to its position but the temperature lock feature helps to reduce accidental changes.
A good product for the money.

A few people mentioned where the temperature buttons are placed being a problem, for me they definitely weren’t. When you turn the straighteners on you choose your temperature, then when you start to use the straighteners the buttons are disabled so if you accidentally press one of them, nothing will happen. However if you do want to change the temperature midway through straightening you just have to hold down the button until the light next to it turns red. They straightened my frizzy hair just as good as the ghd straighteners. Glided through my hair smoothly and the end look was good. Overall amazing quality at an amazing price.

i can’t say anything negative about these, especially for the price. i think they’re easy to use and i don’t have any issues with them. for the price i don’t mind that there is no lock switch, when i’m done i just wrap the cord around them to keep them closed and then secure them by wrapping the heatproof mat around them which has an elastic band. i also have never accidentally pressed the buttons on the side when using them like a lot of people seem to do so i have no complaints

I would have given this product 5* if it wasn’t for the unfortunate placement of the on/off button and temp control at the top of the iron which meant that when straightening my hair I couldn’t grip the iron properly.

Other than that, smooth iron which I’m really pleased with as I’ve been a GHD user for many many years and was starting to find the ceramic plates ‘gritty’ rather than smooth.
Used it for a curl this morning and pleased with the results. Excellent value for money.
