I’ve been replacing my electrical sockets and fittings with BG units because I like that they come with little caps to cover the screw holes and also that they are easy to wire up.
Took a long time choosing this .My decision was based on how I’m going to use it and the USB ports.
On/off switches are top left and top right making it better and not turning the wrong thing on or off.
Was looking at the one usb and one type c but decided two usb was better . Colour is white but was keen on grey/brushed steel face for a minute or two.
Good dimming from this switch with nice even dimming from bright to off without any jerking. Highly recommended.
I fixed it myself and that was a few years ago so I’m still here .
Just two buttons (one on socket and the other on the router) to join the wifi and set up. Now have full coverage upstairs and so easy to set up.
After decorating the dining room and hallway, the overall appearance was marred by the yellowing old sockets on the wall. Although the old sockets were functional, they looked horrible – yellowing, scratched and the edges covered in various colours of emulsion from careless decorators of the past. I didn’t need anything fancy, just clean new sockets. I had 3 to replace. The internal layout of the new sockets were identical the the old MK ones. A quick read of the instructions confirmed that the wiring requirements were the same, so power off, screwdriver out and the job was done in a few minutes. I have a lot of experience in rewiring, but if you do not, it is recommended that you get a professional to do your socket replacements. The missus was chuffed with the results, particularly with the smooth rounded edges (the old ones had very sharp edges). In the end, we have freshly decorated walls with fresh clean sockets – no more regrets thinking ‘I wish I’d done something about those old sockets’. A really economical finishing touch!
Very easy to instal. Works really well and balances out our three LED wall lights. No issue with voltage drop. Wish I bought them sooner.
Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Installed it where the WI-FI signal fell to half capacity, at the other side of a 500mm stone wall. Now full signal in that vicinity, and also extending into other rooms and outside where there was previously no signal. Great value for money, easy to install / set up and prompt delivery.
Probably echoing others. Working fine so far. Not very sturdy but fine for my low traffic lamps. Switches get in the way of some smart plugs but whose fault is that (?) as some plugs are designed not to foul switches. Where 25mm metal wall boxes are used fitting is easy enough, but the cavity wall plastic type do not accommodate these sockets by a couple of mm.
Didn’t like it was sold as new when it was second hand. The packaging was already open and there was fingerprints all over the face place. Luckily it works OK an cleaned up OK.
I foolishly bought a replacement dimmer switch from a local reseller after an old MK finally melted, running 8x4w halogens. No joy – it wasn’t rated for halogen low wattage. This product is and works perfectly. I miss the the little click when I press the button in to turn the lights on/off and the wiring diagram was a little confusing, hence only 4*

Item arrived in opened package as if it had been returned however everything was there so I fit it in place of a standard socket. I was struggling to get a decent WiFi signal in my kitchen, after fitting this and going through the easy setup the signal is now good.
I wish someone made one of these with high enough output to do proper fast charging. Also, if you plug in large transformer plugs, there may not be enough room for a normal straight USB connector. Although it’s ok, there is certainly room for improvement in specs and physical design. Having said all that, I have bought about 3 more if these since my initial purchase, so it is a compromise I can accept when comparing to similar items.
Most modern routers offer dual band WiFi – 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Most modern devices, including consoles, iPads and your phone will by default connect using 5Ghz. Most routers offer separate 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands, but not all of them are set to provide the separated bands by default. You will need to go into your router settings to split the bands, otherwise this repeater might not function properly [for what it’s worth, my Virgin router offered both bands by fault, but my girlfriends EE router didn’t and it took a little bit of troubleshooting to split the bands and get the socket to work].
If you want to extend the range of your 5GHz WiFi then this product probably isn’t for you. If your router doesn’t offer separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands then this product might not be for you either. If you’re trying to stream Netflix in HD in a room 40 meters from your router then this product probably isn’t for you. If you want to connect your external wireless cameras, your Amazon Echo or other smart home devices to a 2.4GHz wireless network, then this is an incredible effective, clean and easy solution.
