This was quite a fun game to play, easy to learn which is a bonus.
We love games at home – family games/ party games – played in groups.
This game sounded great in concept, and looked contemporary + fun too! Upon receipt it’s clear there’s been a lot of effort in the quality/ design, and everything is beautifully made and presented. The quality alone easily justifies the 8.99 price tag (price at the time of review).
The recommendation is more than 2 players, so our little family unit of 3 (2 adults, 1 x 11yr old) got stuck in… there’s a “surprise” in there too I won’t cover here, that you can reveal after playing a few games… I’ll leave that as a secret, but it does give a new twist.
Anyhow, back to the game… it really is as the description states: Poker meets snap. Two classic card games kind of morphed into this one.
The rules are really where we got stuck – and it took us a while to actually get past the fact the game was a little confusing/ complex at first. But once we got into playing and rules became clear, the fun began.
We’ve not played this too much, but on those occasions we have played we’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. It packs small, too, so is transportable… and you only really need a surface of some kind to play it (as you do need to pass the pack around).
Recommended – so long as you can persevere past the frustrating learning curve! 😉
This is a great game for a few of you to play with a lot of sillyness. The instructions are clear and it’s easy to get the hang of. We’ve had many games, some lasting 3 minutes (yes, so fast) and some lasting over half an hour. The faces are hilarious and making others pull them is even better.
Nice quality cards and prints.
THere’s a certain complexity that makes this game slow to reveal its pleasures, but it is a lot of fun once you get therough the initial confusion. It really needs more than two people for a decent game, but is suitable for a wide age range.
This is a fun game for all ages. Really sinple and easy to learn. My 9 year old has a tough time with the concept of poker face but in this game it doesn’t matter as the ‘stack’ is built and she forgets what she’s put in there anyhow! Surprisingly engaging for such a simple game (just watch the video on the product page to see how simple!)
At time of review this is priced at 8.99. A lot of card games are priced around the 9/10 mark so perfectly fine here.
The box is reasonably sturdy and the plastic tray inside holds the cards in place and protects them. Equally the card stock is good quality and the printing has vibrant colours so all the physical aspects are good.
The game itself is reasonably easy to learn, although it would take a few tries. I also think because of the knoledge and bluff aspect, it’s near impossible to play for two players. 3 or more is fine.
I must admit after a few plays, I feel that it might be better playing with one less red face per number of players than they suggest. It is VERY hard to get 4 of the yellow “good faces”.
There’s also a small packet inside which says open after 3 games so a little surprise to come once you fee you need to change it up a bit.
I’m happy to recommend, but you might want to fiddle with the rules slightly.
This is a hilarious poker, risk taking type game which involves you trying to collect all the good faces, but then you lose it all if you find a bad face, very simple to pick up and suitable for all of the family. Best with over 3 players so the games aren’t so quick.
Funny and simple and I like the bold artwork, recommended.
I really liked this game, it is a relatively simple concept, easy to learn but does make the time fly.
Like has been mentioned in other reviews, it is probably better being played with more than 2x people but all in all, have no complaints and enjoyed it.
This card game is fun but also frustrating. In the pack you get the cards and a instruction card that explains how to play it. I found watching a video on YouTube was the easiest way to learn how to play. This is a risk taking game you need to collect all good faces to win, but can loose very quickly at the turn of a bad face. Definitely needs more than 2 people to play.
This is a very chill, low-key fun game. Suitable for young and adult players, ideally a group of several people.
The rules are fairly straightforward, the instructions present in the box are easy to follow, but as with any games – a few rounds will get most players catch up with the rules fully.
The quality of the cards is very good, they’re thick enough not to easily bend and should last you for a long time. There’s enough of variety in cards, that no gameplay will be exactly as the last one.
Happy playing!
It was the 1st time I watched this game and it seemed interesting from the description,so I decided to get it.To be honest,I didn’t really understand how it worked,so after searching on YouTube and watching the video,I finally learned how to play and it was very interesting. The cards are made of good material,I don’t think that they can be broken easily and I really liked the box how they were packed. To make the game more beautiful,I think it should be played with 3+ players.I like it .
This is sort of a nice game, although to get the most from it I would suggest three or more players. It’s made of good quality materials, and the video tutorial makes it a lot easier to follow. The problem with two players is that the games tend to be quite short (three games in 10 minutes) so it’s almost over before you have got started,
He really nice touch is a little pack of extensions to the game, these let you add more complex rules to the game, but after you have learned the basics. That’s actually someth8mg that I really like, start simple and then expand !
This is an engaging game for a long train journey, or for nights staying in on holiday. I suggest everyone watches the YouTube film first. It’s quite interesting, and you don’t need to concentrate too hard, but it whiles away time. Perfect to slip into a rucksack when travelling. Its not the best card game I have played, but it’s engaging and fun.
I did struggle a little to get my head around even though there are instructions and a YouTube video you can watch. It took me a while. But when I had it was pretty fun. I not sure an 8 year old would understand the instructions. Under the main deck there is an envelope to open after a few tries which throws in wild cards. I probably would reccomend this as good value for money for a game but not sure it’s one we will play a lot. Ideal for traveling as it packs up in a nice sturdy box.
This can be as fun as it is frustrating, especially if you are close to winning. This is quite a simple game once you grasp the concept, the pack includes a help card so you can easily find out what you need to do depending on what card is turned. It’s less of a skill and more of a risk based game, as even if you order the stack it only needs one person not to turn a card to throw out any sequence of cards you have set up. This is definitely better suited for more than two people as can get quite repetitive, it’s not that held other family members interest that long, so one or two games was enough.
I think this card game is great value for money but you do need to play it several times to get your head around the gameplay.
The slim-line box feels pretty durable — good for both storage and travelling. The cards are laminated and feel good quality. I really liked the thick, branded rubber band that was used to hold the cards together. However, it does have a slight nick in it, so won’t last too long.
This game is quite tricky to get the hang of and I was grateful for the clear instruction card and the YouTube video (even if the narration used silly voices). Several plays later and the game kind of made sense — repetition is essential! My 8 and 6 year old only got to grips with the game because I was repeating the instructions. The included small prompt card for each stage was especially useful. I like that you can add two new cards to the game once you have got used to the basics.
It is a fun game for adults, but children do need reminding of the different actions that can be taken. It works well as a travel game, especially as you don’t really need a hard surface to play on, but I would recommend playing several times before travelling so you can get your head around the rules first. Also, we found that the 2-player version was not as fun; it works well with 3 to 5 players.
I’ve played and been impressed with a number of different Big Potato Games so was intrigued to check out this one. Promising poker style play for 2+ players without the complexity, I cracked it out for a game.
First impressions were good as the cards themselves are well made, a decent size and come with a band to keep them together if you want to take them on the move. The game is relatively quick to get your head around, though the online video didn’t quite have me understanding the difference between the hand and the deck you make nor what to do when the deck comes back to you but once into it its clear the depth of strategy that this game brings. It’s probably better for around 4 players than for two but still good fun nonetheless.
Overall then this is a good game, well made that could just use a couple of tweaks to the instructions to be great.
