This is an easy and simple game for the family. It’s really fun- you can play with as little as 2 people up to as many as you’d like in groups. Simple instructions and easy to catch on. My family has had fun playing! Definitely a great value for money buy.
This is a good value game for 3-6 people.
You have to try and guess words by using clue descriptions that use as few letters as possible. The fewer guesses, the more points you score and less is more (hence the name of the game!).
It is really simple and easy to learn and is for ages 8 and upwards. It can be challenging but can be made easier if playing with children.
The game comes with 6 Erasable Markers, 6 Erasable Word Boards and 100 Double-Sided Cards. There is a handy QR Code so that you have quick access to a Digital Timer.
It offers great value for money and can be really good fun!
This is a great toy for the kids. It is also an excellent gift item for the kids and the families. The toy keeps the kids engage and awesome for the entertainment.
A game for kids and adults alike. It’s a great way to get everyone involved in the fun, and the rules are easy to understand. The game involves two players, and the goal is to get rid of all of your cards. The player with the fewest cards at the end of the game wins! The game is suitable for all ages, as it is easy to explain and doesn’t require any special skills. The game is also educational, as it helps to develop a sense of strategy and planning. The components are also high quality and durable, making it a great gift idea for any occasion.
This is quite an unusual and fun game 4 between 3 and 6 people aged 8 and above.
The idea is to get a player to guess a word using written clues … the catch is that the written clue have a few letters as possible. It’s actually easy to understand how to play once you get started.
This is an enjoyable game and is quite competitive … I personally think this would make a great party game especially for over 18s that have had a few alcoholic drinks, it certainly could get quite silly and a lot of laughter could be had.
The game includes 6 erasable markers, six erasable word boards, 100 double sided cards, QR code to the digital timer and instructions.
Our family have had a few test runs at this game and can see it has a lot of potential … we’re definitely saving this one for Christmas game nights with our extended family.
Highly recommended
This less is more game is easy enough to understand and slightly harder to actually play . The idea is choose an object or person from your listed card and using as few letters as you can describe what it is. If playing in a group this could actually be quite hilarious, especially if alcohol is involved. I ordered this with my nieces in mind , they love games over Christmas and this one is right up their street .
This is a fun family game. We are a family of 6 and this was a fun time for us. I will say my teens are much better then we are at this game. Probably because they abbreviate everything on text. We did have to use our phone as a timer which seemed odd that it wasn’t included but it didn’t detract from the game. Fun was had by all.
Fun game, not hard to learn the rules. You have a single player be the guesser, who tries to guess the secret word using the clues give to them, and the other players write a clue using as few letters as possible, hoping to get the guesser to guess the secret word. The guessing player looks at each answer one by one, starting with those using the fewest number of letters. The guesser gets one guess after each clue is shown, and the more clues used the fewer points the guesser scores. The game also rewards those clue givers who succeed in getting the guesser to guess the word correctly.
Not a hard game to learn, my main issues were, one, the need to use a QR code to get a digital timer to use on your phone. We just used a clock and it would have been nice to have something like a sand hourglass type timer instead. We kind of wanted a system that discouraged phones being present and not to have to pass around someone’s phone with timing out and other issues.
And two, the dry erase markers you are given to use aren’t as effective as we would have liked, but we ended up using pencil/pen and paper after a while.
The game has materials enough for 6 players and needs at least 3 players.
Overall, a fun game though!
Our family loves to play games so I’m always on the look out for new and fun ones. We have five kids all 12 and under. That said, we feel that this would be a great game to play with our two oldest, but not our younger kids since the game does require full reading, writing, and use of phonetic skills. Other than that, the game is of great quality and sounds promising for an older crowd.
This game is fun for groups of 3 or more players so it’s a good one for family game night with older kids (recommended for ages 8 and upwards)
The game involves guessing words based on clues but the twist is that the clues also have letters missing. This makes it tricky and mind bending but lots of fu
We play a *ton* of board games, and we found this one to be fun…with some caveats.
The biggest issue is the sort of two-fold problem the game creates. You’re supposed to pare down and abbreviate your clue, but your clue still isn’t the word that you’re supposed to guess. For example, if you figure out that “snd n wvs” is supposed to be “sand and waves,” you’re still supposed to be guessing “beach.” It sounds easy enough, but game after game we got tripped up by this after a few rounds.
Scoring is terrible. We played with four very competitive people, and our clues were so short we often went a round or two before the answer was guessed. According to the instructions, we should have been in negative points….we made our own scoring rules.
It’s definitely easier to guess an answer after a few rounds of clues, so…it’s arguably better to abbreviate less and get the person to correctly guess your answer at the end of the first round, rather than get super competitive with short clues and have the answer still unguessed into the second round.
As with most games, the fun depends heavily on playing with a “game” and good-natured group.
We played this with friends (4 adults) and it was pretty fun. It’s a good creative challenge to think of ways to abbreviate.
One person guesses. The other 3 write a clue with as few letters as they can. Guesser gets to look at each answer one at a time starting with the fewest letter clue. Guesser gets one guess after each clue is revealed. The more clues they get the less points they get if the Lu guess correctly.
I would say 3-5 letters was our most common number. It was surprising how often a person could guess the 3 letter words!
I agree with another reviewer- needs a sand timer! They just had a QR code for a digital timer but when we went to the site it didn’t work. Seems easy enough to just add the timer in the box.
Also the dry erase markers had erasers in the lids which is nice but not so nice when they don’t erase well. We had this problem with the game Trivia Crack. You’ll pry want to use different markers or have something else handy to erase.
We’ve only played it once so I haven’t figured out if this is just a ‘this is how it worked out this time’ thing or an actual bug of the game but it seemed like it mattered who you say by. The people across from each other ended up always guessing each other’s answers. Because if people have the same number of letters you reveal from left to right so if the person to the left of you gives worse clues then you’ll typically get less points because it will take more clues but if the person left of you is a good clue giver than you’re more likely to get more points. I wonder if it would work to change the rule that the guesser chooses which clue to see first if the people have the same number of letters.
Also, I think you could play with more than 6 players if you want. Just wouldn’t have the fancy boards.
Anyway, clue-giving game. We love the challenge. And it’s entertaining when the clues get misunderstood.
For example: the word was Monopoly
One clue given was : FK MNY (fake money)
Another was: PSS GO (pass go)
$12-15 seems more right for price especially with no timer, but if it intrigues you, I think you’ll get your money’s worth.
This game is really fun and easy to learn. We’ve probably played it a good 50 times since we’ve received it. Everyone in my family enjoys it, even my 4 year old. We couldn’t really understand the points system and unfortunately lost the directions on the first day. Because of that, we kind of created our own. The game is very simple. You have one person who guesses the word that they choose, randomly, on the card, based on the hints that all of the other players provide. The goal is to get the guesser to guess correctly by deciphering your abbreviated hint, hence the title, less is more. The game comes with 6 dry erase markers w/eraser on top, 6 color coded dry erase boards and a large stack of cards that have word choices on both sides. This game has definitely earned its spot on the list of games, for family game night, but I don’t quite think it’s worth 20 dollars. However, I would absolutely recommend it.

We have 5 kids and our family loves board games. This game looked interesting so I wanted to try it. It took some time, more often than other games, to go through the directions and understand how to play this game. I love simple games that make it easy to play, whether you have 15 minutes or hours (even better if you can play without the board if you are limited on time or want to play something on the go). Because this game lacks simplicity, we don’t play it often and we didn’t enjoy it as much as others
If you play this at Family Game night, just know the middle and high schoolers (who text all the time) will have it in the bag. This game is pretty fun and is an interesting concept – get the other people to guess the word by writing as few letters as possible. There are a ton of words, and the game pieces seem to be well-made.
I took off one star because the QR code site didn’t work. It brought me to a site with a timer, but the site itself didn’t work at all – when I pushed the buttons, nothing happened. For the $20 game price, they could have just included a little sand timer. The necessity of using a phone for a timer also really annoyed me because we put our phones away during game night.
It’s a pretty fun game for family time, especially for younger children. The game is simple to understand even for younger children. It is a good game for learning as well. We had a good time with this game.
This game has a unique premise and is fun to play. The instructions could be clearer and more detailed, and I wish that the game included a timer instead of expecting players to use a phone, but there are lots of interesting prompt words and the dry erase board is a unique feature. Some reviewers have commented that the markers don’t erase well, but that isn’t my experience. They’ll definitely wear out eventually and have to be replaced, but I haven’t had any trouble writing or erasing. Also, the boards are good quality, and even though I was concerned about the plastic hinges breaking, they’re sturdy.
Update: After more use, it did become difficult to erase the marker fully on some of the boards, but this game was a hit with friends! They really enjoyed it and want to play it again.
For anyone that loves general knowledge, trivia games etc, this game is an absolute must have! This is great fun for all the family of all ages.
The game requires you to guess the answers using less letters than you would normally see, this really gets your brain firing to think in a different way than normal to get to the answers you need.
Fast paced and great fun for all ages. There is a timer you can use with the game, but we tend to not use this as a preference. The packaging is nice and simple to pack away and keep safe.
This is a quirky and fun but suprisingly competitive and tricky board game to master, one of those that is easy to learn and grasp the rules of but actually quite hard to win, especially when playing with those who are more literature inclined.
The game runs on a point-based system in which you get more points for using less guesses to figure out the words, which is why it gets more competitive the harder the words are that need to be guessed.
This allows the difficulty level to be scalable based on who is playing and their age range, which is great as easier words can be used for guessing for those who may be younger, scalling it up for older players with more intellectual words.
Straight out the box you can start the game with the included 6 erasable markers, 6 word-boards, 100 double-sided cards, digital timer, and a good set of straightforward instructions that anyone can follow.
A lovely and fun game overall, recommended for all.
This is a really cool idea for a game. Each round you have a Guesser and the rest of the players are Clue Givers. Each person is trying to get the Guesser to guess the secret word with as few letters as possible. You start with the person with the fewest letters in their clue, reveal their clue to the Guesser, and if the Guesser gets the secret word correct, then both the Guesser and the Clue Giver get a point. Otherwise you reveal the next shortest clue and repeat. The cards, markers, and mini-whiteboards feel decent and I think they will hold up to many sessions. The instructions are clear and they even give an example for scoring. The game is easy to learn and fun to play. There are only enough materials for 6 people to play but in a pinch I think you could improvise and play with more.
My only complaint is not including a timer and instead giving us a QR code to go to a timer app on their website. There are two problems with this. First, the website is just broken because the buttons don’t do anything. The timer doesn’t work. Second, I don’t want to use my phone on a party game like this. The first person done is supposed to start the timer. I don’t want to pass my phone around the table. I just want an easy 60-second timer with a button and buzzer, or even an hour glass timer. If it weren’t for the missing timer, this is a 5-star game.
Just as headline reads a game with total potential!! Not sure why any product hoping to takeoff would cut unnecessary corners? ie. No timer instead use your device?? Ugh, my pet peeve with game night is players distracted by cell phone during play and here you’ve asked us to bring in the enemy?! I cant suggest enough to add a sand timer- take out distraction! (Something you shouldnt have to do with new purchase!) While we’re at it, get real wipe-off markers, bc included are subpar and don’t like to erase!! A bottle of cleaner will help cards not stain- but it’s optional.. See, why we shouldn’t cut corners?! This is FUN- concept is there and a lot of laughs to be had (just fix the issues like this!!)
Who can play: x3 or more players is best- otherwise you have “an old maid conundrum!” You know if 2 play and if you don’t have maid.. the other does!! This is, if I vote for mine- and you vote yours.. we’re always in a tie. X3+ players fixes that! We did play teams- IT WAS A RIOT!! Game can adjust like that. Age is teen/adult- younger wont understand abvr. concept.. you could team little with adult if needed but, prob. wont hold interest in the same way as others.
Game in play: instructions are unique- some steps easier to follow than others.. however, this is also a game strategy of common sense! We made our own set of rules that mimic original.. we took the gist and added simple where it became confusing. ie, we set pt. system by #’s of 10 scale and tossed out the offered idea. We also decided- first one to specified #..wins! This lets you control time less or more. We added bonus letters: Q,Z,X gave double pts. if you won round- which is a fun twist. Don’t get me wrong you can use the rules including just be sure all players listen up during explanation..
A game mine really liked despite its shortcomings. Seller take note these are easily fixed.. you’d have a winner on your hands! As a family group text we always send snaps of unique license plates we see.. so for us, we find fun in the idea pregame! A concept completely unique to this game- tbh, I’d rate board/user friendly a 2.5 and fun had a 5 star!! Something to keep in mind when ordering.. Hoping info can help make your decision- stay safe everyone.
Great family or friends game. It was easy to understand the instructions and we had fun playing it. Lots of laughs and perfect if you are looking for a new game for family game night.
This is a fun family game. It does need a minimum of 3 players. We played with our children aged 11, 14 and 16. It is do-able younger than that but I think it would be hard for them to really compete below that age. It’s a simple concept – you have to give clues to a word using as few letters as possible. We all really enjoyed it. It’s quite quick to play but it’s not a fast game as there can be quite a lot of thinking for the clues. To get around that, the instructions advise setting a one minute timer once the first person has written their clue. There is a link to their own timer which didn’t work for us but you could use any phone timer. We didn’t bother with that and just nagged each other once the first person had done their clue!
The game components are really well made. There are loads of question cards so you won’t run out and the little white boards, with a disc that flips to show how many letters you have written, are cool. Like another reviewer, I am irritated by the poor grammar in their slogan “Guess better with less letters”!
Overall it’s a great game that we all enjoyed and the first time I have seen this concept. We will certainly play again as a family and it’s an easy one to get out for a quick game.
This is actually a fun game to play. My kids are 13 and 8 and they enjoyed it very much. The directions on how to play are clear and easy to understand. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because the timer would not work after scanning the QR code. It would just bring up the play button and the restart button. Timer would not show up at all after hitting the play button. The only thing I wish it came with are score cards.
The game has a good concept you each use a Baird to provide a clue to the guesser to try and work out what the word is. It would be better if a timer was included in the box, we forgot about it saying to use your phone after reading the instructions and so the game dragged a bit. Some words are easier than others to guess. The shortest name is not always the winner, middle of the pack is usually the better bet. Overall good fun and one we would play again. The pens and parts were of good quality.
Our family likes to play games and this seemed like a fun game everyone could play that wasn’t to hard or serious. The first thing I noticed is that there aren’t any spare markers and the marker doesn’t erase well from the plaques. This could make the gss as me less fun to play over time. I do really like the little turning piece on the plaques to only reveal part of what’s on it at a time. The instructions are pretty simple but I find it cruddy that they expect you to use a device for a timer. It would have been so easy to just include a cheap sand timer so it seems cheap. Some of the rules are kind of weird but you can easily adjust them to what works for you. The scoring is a little convulsed but does give a little extra motivation and make it more fun. You could easily play more than one round or play to a certain score to make it last longer or shorter. I was a bit confused why the fonts and backs of cards are different colors. Is one side harder than the other or what’s the difference? Overall this is a fun little game that is easy to learn and play and can also be picked up and put firm easily. I just think they cheaper out on a couple things and I was disappointed by that.
This board game involves guessing words using the least letters possible. It reminds you of shorthand or more recently, text speak.
It was fun and giggles ensued as we tried to guess the words. You get wipe off boards and markers and a QR code to use as a timer. The cards are double sided.
It is a nice game to add to game night with family and friends.
The game is marketed for 3-6 players aged 8+. The set includes a deck of double sided cards with 6 words written on each side, 6 small whiteboards with coloured circle, 6 whiteboard pens with erasers and a set of instructions. The aim of the game is to give the “guesser” clues to correctly guess the word from a card, using the least amount of letters. The packaging is very simple and basic. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. The pens all work and wipe off the whiteboards easily. My concern is that we’ll have to keep buying more whiteboard pens to replace the original ones, once they all inevitably dry out. My husband and I slightly tweaked the rules to play a game with just the 2 of us – it was still really fun, even if we were just sort of making it up as we went along! I’m excited to play it with our older children over the weekend and I’m sure they’ll enjoy it too. Happy to recommend.
A simple game to play and pick up even when you don’t have a lot of time. You can play by the rules but we have fun adapting them into a quiz with teams. It’s a word guessing game with clues but you have to use the fewest letters which makes it a challenge. You need 3 people to play it properly. My child who speaks in txt speech found it quite easy as she was up on abbreviations. It’s fun and gets you thinking and we all had a laugh. I would play it again and I suppose you could make your own topic cards.
Creative game, gets the brain working.
It’s a unique concept too.
Fun game both adults and older children can enjoy.
I played with my 8 year old who took a little getting used to the game before she was proficient in it.
