I got these as a starter set to use with the 12v Pro GKF edge router/shaper. The storage box is quite bulky for the number of bits, although this does mean I can fit the GKF’s 17mm spanner inside. The grip of the bits in case is very stiff and (I find) requires a tool to lever them out of their recesses – and this at room temperature. So far I have used one cutter on (in total) about 6m linear length of PSE softwood timber to profile it round (bit 3), it worked fine. They’re not cheap, but hopefully will last me a lifetime of very occasional use.
I liked the sturdy case provided and the pictures showing what each bit was for.
A little difficult to remove & replace bits due to a very tight fit.
Only used the straight cut router bits so far. It may be me but I found it difficult to keep cut straight when it goes from one guide plate to another.
I bought this to use with my newly acquired Bosch Router (from Amazon). I liked the quality of the Router so went for the manufacturers own Router Bit Set. I could have got a cheaper set but quality sometimes costs that little bit extra.
It would be nice if Bosch gave some specs for these such as the round-over radius. Some profile pics would be helpful too. I’m sure the bits are good quality but time will tell.
I’ve never used a router before or the various bits but after some practice on spare wood I’ve found these very good value for money & once you follow the router instructions very easy to use.
Really handy compact box of bits for the Bosch Palm Router. The set covers most routing needs and has a bit for Dove tail jointing.
Good quality work well.
Just the job.
Don’t go cheap when it comes to your drill and router bits. You really do get what you pay for. These are fab and the picture on the back of each bit’s finish is very handy for referencing. Would recommend.
I use frequently along side Bosch Router, I have 1/4 and the same set in 8mm. In my experience they still seem sharp after loads of work, mainly in the making and edging new pieces for previously unloved furniture that would normally end up on the scrapheap. I think I had to sharpen 1 of the bits I use the most but never had to replace them and have had these sets well over a year.
Im new to the world of routing, i recently bought a Bosch pof 1200 and, after some shopping around decided that this set had the best variety of bits for the best price (for a Bosch set). I could have opted for a cheaper set but my experience with power tools so far has been buy cheap by twice.
Delivery was 2 days quicker than quoted so i was able to start work on my first project (a wooden window frame) earlier.
The case is sturdy enough and has a helpful diagram on the back showing what bit creates what effect, great for a novice like myself.
Ive only used 3 bits so far but im pleased with the set.
The bits look well machined, I noticed one reviewer commented on them being poorly made, even dangerous, they seem fine to me.
I ummed and arrred about buying expensive router bits but im so glad i did. Everything about these are quality the bearings feel like the will last for ever and the blades are razor sharp. Top class!
Bought these in conjunction Curve Cutting Guide I should have bought these bits ages ago, they are quality items the router bits I have used previously have blunted very quickly these Bosch ones performed well didn’t blunt I will now expand the range of bits I currently have really pleased with them.
I was please with theses cutters, I have only used a few so far but watch out when getting them out of the plastic box as they are sharp, nicked my finger removing one. Unsure how they would fair in the hands of a professional having to do multiple tasks.
Reasonable quality bits. First set I received was damaged, one of the bits had a chipped carbide edge the chip being in the box. Amazon replaced no problem and the second set are OK. Used on softwood up to now and they are holding up well for occasional use but for heavier use I would go for 1/2″ shank bits.
he router set looks very good quality although I’m not able to try them out just yet, it’s comprehensive set and should be useful and fulfil my needs. nice plastic case to house them in, 4 stars for the set as not tried and tested 5 stars because they were delivered well before the estimated time.
in all excellent on sellers part. Thank you.
In response to an inquiry I received about what bits are included in this kit, I am posting this review to add a picture of the contents. The router bits are made in China. I have not had the chance to use these bits yet, so I can not comment on the quality of the bits at this time. I post it with 5 Stars for now given the nice assortment of bits.
Having said that i use them as a work-a-day set for my workshop. Yes you can pay a small fortune for bits and I do own some of them, but this set (6mm) are used in my palm router and it’s nice to have on the work-bench in the case for general use, so far stayed sharp (considering they are used on reclaimed timber).
Four stars because the blown case is a bit of a pain, clip to hold it together broke very quickly and the bits are a very tight fit, but this is a minor problem really as it the bits that are what i use after all.
A useful set of router bits at a good price – bought to give me a variety of bits to play with for my new router. I’m not sure they’ll last as well as more expensive ones and mine are already starting to blunt slightly on an oak staircase I’m making. The selection of profiles is not bad, but I think you need to buy a router bit to suit the job – not fit the job to the bit! However, I imagine I’ll gradually replace them with new and more pricey bits as and when I need them. All in all a good purchase, and the wooden box is rather nice too!
After considering many differeny makers and getting slightly confused I bought the small Bosch set after buying a larger set of a different manufacturer from a local DIY centre.
The Bosch set gives me more faith. The individual pieces are well made with no small weld voids and they have been etched with their speed rating!
For DIY, occasional use, a good set to have.
