Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI hate strimmers, but the grass had grown so long and the man who mows my lawn hasn’t been able to work since last year, so I had no option but to try and sort it out. Never had a good experience with a strimmer, I usually end up injured, or the grass looks cut but then long bits start popping back up the next day, or the line keeps snapping.
This strimmer is great. Easy to use, the adjustable handle helps to hold and control it, and the only time the line snapped was on a particularly large and chunky weed. However, it was quick and easy to refeed the line and carry on. For the price, this strimmer is brilliant.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersWeighing around 2 Kg., this plastic and metal constructed strimmer was so easy to assemble, most of it having been done so already.
The hollow tubular metal arm arrives folded into three section with the power cable running down the middle; think of an elasticated folding walking stick/cane, usually for the elderly.
Holes in the tube allow spring loaded metal studs to click into place for assembly/disassembly (I recommend that the strimmer is left assembled.)
The plastic strimmer guard beneath slides, then clicks into place.
Opposite to the plastic rear guard, is an adjustable metal wire bar, which may be slideither nearer or further away from the strimmer.
This pushes plants away from the strimming cord beneath, protecting flower beds, etc.
The strimmer’s cord cassette, simply drops into place beneath the red capped cover, that is in the base.
To open, squeeze the opposite marked sides together to release.
    It clicks back into place.
Thread the cord through the hole in the axle assembly and adjust to the length required.
A two way switch arrangement built into the top handle, switches it on and the lower switches either side, keeps the power switched on during use.
Depressing the main switch shuts off the power.
The safety orange coloured flex/rubber plug, is 6 metres long.
Use an RCD device when strimming, sensible footwear and sometimes protective eyewear for those hidden bits of debris.
There is an adjustable lower front handle, angled to requirements, by depressing both sides of the handle’s red buttons simultaneously; releasing them the handle clicks into a preset position.
Readjust until the best comfortable position is found.
I use this handle to hang the folded electric flex.
Easy to store, clean and use.
It’s a classic well thought out, well design strimmer, competitively priced unit for these financially slimmer times; cut costs, not quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE SLIMMER TRIMMER

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our Usersive got to say for the price this strimmer is brilliant, i have two cordless ones which i found useless. so i thought well if i waste 20 odd quid more. well so be it, but it is brilliant edged and cut weeds with no hassle, the cord did break twice but it went against a brick wall. overall good purchase

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI purchased this to replace an old Flymo strimmer, for which I can no longer get spools. I was surprised at the small size of the box, but the strimmer was easy to snap together, no tools are needed except for a screwdriver to secure the cover. Once out in the garden this little machine did a great job of slicing through the 25cm tall overgrown grass and some fairly hefty weed stalks. The adjustable handle made it easy to find the best position and there is plenty of spool cable left after an hours usage. As others have mentioned the electric cable could be longer and you will most probably need an extension cable for anything but the smallest of lawns. For the price this lightweight strimmer packs quite a punch in terms of its performance. On first use, it seems to have been a great buy!

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersThis is a really decent strimmer, it’s really light and easy to use. The grip adjustment is really helpful allowing you to quickly adjust to the pitch of your garden stopping your arms from aching. Replacing the wire is easy as the spool comes fully out. The wire also easily can be pulled out as the casett is on a ratchet and can be rotated to release more wire. The only issue I have is that usually when strimming I pulse the motor, rather than have it running constantly on full speed. This pulsing causes the wire to automatically spool out occasionally, so I have to stop and pull it back in, but this issue is more with me than the product. Overall I’m really happy with this strimmer, if it broke I would buy the same one again.

I bought one and was bit smoke coming out so they replaced it straight away and due to me being housebound I couldn’t send old one back but still received replacement. Very good selle

So easy to assemble. Felt sturdy. Used and very sturdy , good quality and cutting power. Had a Flymo double wire spool and this did a very good in comparison being only one wire spool. No surprise considering the manufacturer and really seriously good value for money.

It tackled 1m tall thick grass and weeds without problems.
However, the cutting cord which came with it is thin and breaks easily if it hits the pavement – you need to purchase a reel of thicker/stronger stuff.
Pulling cutting cord out is easy enough.

For the price, it’s much lighter than I expected (especially compared to my previous one which was more expensive)

I have light use for it – small garden, but all the edges are all fenced so I get through a fair amount of string in a single cut.

    For the price, it’s excellent.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersArrived promptly, very easy to assemble and straightforward to use. The cutting cord is easy to lengthen by clicking, it does seem to break off quite often so will try different when I buy replacement. Very happy for the price.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWarning the front metal guard needs to be extended out and clicked into place otherwise the wire breaks to short. Had initial problems with self feeding spool, but rewound wire and made sure front guard is extended, and all good

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLovely lightweight Strimmer and easy to assemble.
Unfortunately the strimmer cord that is supplied is totally not fit for purpose and crap. Breaks so easy so it’s down to B&Q for more substantial plastic strim cord.

I’ve used this twice so far and think it’s great for the price and got the job done. Wasn’t so hard to assemble either. You just have to know to trim the line abit once your ready to roll.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSturdy strimmer, well built and feels good in you hands. Issue’s start with, poor instructions for assembly. Edging guide does not lock in position causing the strimmer wire to break. Because it is not automatic feed, I had to strip the strimmer spool and refeed the wire

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersGood cutting thin grass, although the line snapped like 5 times during 1 session of grass cutting but that’s because I hit some thicker weeds.

I tried using a 2.5mm line like another reviewer mentioned but what absolute garbage advice. The diameter of the hole in the strimmer where you insert the strimmer line is fit for the 1.5mm only, which means the 2.5mm isn’t sitting in the housing at all and it’s a faff. Unless you plan on tampering and voiding your warranty just stick to the 1.5mm line that’s supplied.

So many people bodging this strimmer to make it more so-called versatile are only going to void the 3 year warranty that’s supplied. If you want a strimmer that’s going to do a neat job of your grass edges and tight spaces on your lawn then this fits the bill. Don’t go tackling anything bigger than that unless you fancy changing the strimmer line everytime you clip something.

For the price and guarantee you can’t go wrong, but just be careful what you’re putting it through before you start your cuts.

I’ve seen this strimmer getting a lot of flak in the reviews here, and coming from a very similar strimmer, from my experience, its not as bad as they say… compact in the box, quick to assemble and reasonably cheap… the lines a little short, but its in spec, you get what you pay for… in line with other reviews, first piece of line broke almost instantly, but after pulling out another length, proceeded to do the rest of my approx 40m garden with little issue, just grass and the odd weed here and there, one snap when I asked it to go through a chunk of bramble, but thats maybe asking too much…
I’ve only used it once or twice, but for what i payee, just under 30 on sale, you can’t ask for much more out of the box performance, its not a petrol weed walker, or lawnmower, its a cheap simple strimmer, and if the line you get in the box is bad, spend a fiver and buy something a little better quality, and a little thicker and it might not break so easily… how it holds up, time will tell but my last of an older model has lasted several years, and if I only get 3 out of it, its done well

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA previous (very useful) reviewer suggested that issues with the cutting line breaking all the time could be solved by buying a thicker line. S/he mentioned drilling the “anchoring” hole a little larger in the plastic spool, and using a 3mm line. I didn’t trust my plastic-drilling skills, but another reviewer had said that a 2.4mm line would fit in, so I bought a pretty solid plastic one for about 3.50. Sadly, it didn’t fit but, undaunted, I took a sharp penknife and sort of whittled the last half inch or so of the cutting line, so that I could anchor it into the hole. That worked and after that the line also passed easily through the external hole, and I now have a very feisty strimmer that easily cuts through brambles, dandelions and even the dreaded Mare’s Tail. The only hassle will be having to whittle the end of the line when I replace it, but it takes just seconds to do. I’d rather do that than spend 100 + on something that isn’t much better.

One thing to highlight is the dreadful noise it makes if you leave the cutting line too long. I guess this is true of all strimmers. The line should extend just to the inside edge of the guard and no further.
