Does the job on steel great ; well worth the money
These drill bits are fantastic, Drills like a hot knife through butter.
I needed to drill steel beam the drill bits were good and made the work easy
Bought these as I regularly use a 3mm bit to start holes when drilling hard steel, and consequently I break 3mm bits more than any others.
These bits are extremely tough and they cut through hard steel effortlessly! My first one in use has cut dozens of holes so far and hasn’t lost its sharpness at all. Also cuts faster than the Heller Cobalt bits I was using (and breaking) in the past too!
Highly recommend these, I will stock up so that I don’t run out!
I bought these to drill 50 holes through a 3mm stainless steel tank. They made life easy. I used a spray cutting fluid and drilled 2mm pilot holes first. The drills stayed sharp so only used 3 bits, so plenty left for future jobs. Excellent quality and value and delivered on time.
Used these drills for pre-drilling prior to tapping holes in mild steel. To date they seem to be performing OK. Grind on drill seems to be good.
Had to drill through hardened metal, very pleased with these, will be looking for sizes up
Needed to drill small holes in steel fence posts. Previous HSS drills just couldn’t get job done and always snapped off. This time round it just went straight in and no problems going into steel. Will help if applying some oil whilst drilling. After 5 or 6 holes, bit snapped off probably because I was too impatient and applying too much force. No worries just replaced with 2 of 10 and completed the job.
I was at first skeptical of of a pack of 10 drill bits for the price but i needed them fairly pronto for work so thought i would try them out.
The job i am doing is drilling out pilot holes in 5.2mm on various skids and sikla framework for tapping to 6mm in a plant room. I thought the quantity of 10 to be ideal as they would blunt quick but hey, they are disposable at that price.
The result is, i’m still on the 1st drill bit and it’s going strong and i’ve done nearly half the plant room. I would definitely recommend these and i will be looking at other sizes in the same range.
I was in two minds of purchasing these or paying a professional to fit some rollerblind blinds within the recess of my bifold doors. This after many attempts of screwing and drilling into the RSJ and losing my patience, i decided to try these drill bits after some research and i was not disappointed!!! I have taken a break from fitting the blinds to write this review, as i am so impressed. I expected to need many drill bits due to them blunting, but i only needed a single one for 8 holes!! It was advised to go slowly with the drilling but i soon realised that even fast was no challenge for these!! So happy, will definitely recommend to anyone being challenged with an RSJ or lintel for their blinds.
I used these to drill pilot holes through hardened steel bolts for my anti roll bar mountings that had snapped off in my cars subframe, when used with good cutting lubricant they cut through the bolts with ease, after drilling through 4 bolts the first drill bit was going strong, I would have no problem with buying more drill bits from these guys.
I recently picked up some corrugated galvanised panels (AKA “wriggly tin”) to use to clad the inside of some planter boxes.
I was really struggling with (decent) HSS drill bits; they were hard to get started, were creating a lot of heat and were struggled to go through without loads of pressure. I’m only drilling 3mm holes so I thought it wouldn’t be long before the bit snapped.
I decided to order a centre punch to aid the starting, some 3 in 1 oil to keep things cool and these drill bits.
With a centre punch, oil and a cobalt bit, it went through the metal like butter. I tried without the punch and oil and it still went through like I was drilling into soft pine. I’ve done all panels (8 holes per panel, 4 panels per box and 9 boxes in total) all with the first drill bit. I think this pack of 10 will last a lifetime.
I bought these drill bits after buying a set and the smaller ones broke.
Therese seem to last much longer and if one breaks I have replacements, it’s annoying to start a project and not being able to finish because I don’t have the right drill bi
Had seen a video on on YouTube on how you can fit blinds in a new house that have steel lintels , so following those words of wisdom I thought I would give it a go (famous last words) this drill performed exactly as described in the video and I have a sturdy fit which feels secure (decided not to hang onto the fitting to prove just how sturdy it was) only used on one window so far so I can’t rate the longevity of the tool.
Bought these as a last resort to drill out a very old hardened steel manifold stud that my other drill bits were barely marking. The cutting power is really impressive, chewing out big ribbons of swarf with very little pressure. One bit did the whole job, so the rest of the pack is now in the toolkit ready for future projects. Recommended.
The Drills were purchased as pilot drilling of holes in very hard ( Bedstead Angle ) for a construction job I had undertaken where the normal HSS drills proved inadequate .The cobalt drill did the job with no problems, in fact I am still using the first one which has done some 200 or more holes in a variety of metals. I am very pleased with the purchase and would purchase again, and recommend their use to anyone.
I recently carried out a door entry installation and had to drill and tap chassis plates to mount new circuit boards. Each chassis plate 4mm thick galvanised steel. These drills were perfect for the project. Good for 50 holes before needing replacement when used with a DeWalt battery drill onsite in an intake cupboard.
Why struggle with blunt drills and waste drill battery life and arm muscle?
I’ll be buying these again for the next install.
I got these in 2.5, 3 and 4mm sizes to drill out an M6 stainless bolt in an aluminium bike frame. The bolt had broken in the frame.
I’d tried different bits, but these were the only ones that truly worked. It was great to see coils of metal coming out as the hole progressed. I used all 3 sizes got a good clean hole using a hand held drill.
I’m very happy with the drills and certainly recommend.
If you’re drilling stainless or other hard steels use a lubricant while drilling, keep the rpm low and the pressure high. Also stop and clear the hole every few mm. I drilled through about 15mm and took about 20 minutes.
They were used to drill a steel RSJ, I ended up using 5 out of the ten drill bits to drill 16 holes 4 mm thick. Some of the drills blunted quicker than others. I only have a few more holes to drill so all should be okay. Overall, not a bad product.
I bought a very sturdy birdcage flat packed, When putting it together I noticed 1 of the parts was not drilled on both sides as it should have been, so rather than pack it all back up and send it back, I decided to drill it myself, I had various steel drilling bits, but none seemed capable of doing the job, so I ordered these Gold cobalt jobber bits, they came well within delivery timescale and I could not be any more pleased with them, went through the steel in seconds, birdcage all put together and birds in cage. I am very happy with these drill bits, they did the job I needed them for easily, I would definitely recommend
I have a set of drills that look to be identical to these and they are complete rubbish. They shatter, go blunt quickly, are really not worth giving shelf-space.
I bought these because of positive reviews from people who had obviously used them hard and been surprised at the quality for the price. They’re right. These are very durable and perfectly equal to drilling through steel – including chromium and vanadium steels. Buy a box: I don’t think you will be disappointed.
I’ve been using these drill bits for quite a while now and they are simply the best drill bits I’ve ever used. I’m a curtains and blinds fitter and often find myself drilling into steel lintels or, even worse, RSJ’s. In the past I had always used the dewalt equivalent of these bits, they’re OK, but hard work, expensive and you don’t get many holes in a RSJ with a single bit before it blunts or breaks. These, however, are a different class. Much easier, much faster, much cheaper and last MUCH longer. If you have to drill hard steel you probably won’t find a better value tool than this. They’re excellent.
I have not used the item yet however the product looks good apart from the packaging. As you may be able to see from the photo there are only 8 drill bits and not the 10 promised. This is due to the fact that the items are very small and the packaging doesn’t work, 2 drill bits have fallen out or been lost in the delivery process somewhere along the way???
I purchased these and then before even recieving them doubted they would be good enough for a particularly hard drilling task I had where all my other metal drill bits had failed and snapped or blunted under the pressure without hardly making an impression in the work surface.
To cut a long story short, the much more expensive drill bits I purchased to do the job that arrived the same time as these also failed to work and upon falling back on these with near zero expectation that they would be any better, to my astonishment they worked and cut through the steel like butter! Amazing, I will definitely buy more from this brand.
