So many reviews on here saying the focus is really bad. They are wrong, they are either not technically minded or could not be bothered to read the manual. I have posted three pictures to help people, including a picture of the manual that literally tells you where the focus dial is located. I bought this as a present and I would recommend it.
Fantastic. The kids love them and you can focus the picture with a twist of the end of the torch, so ignore the reviews saying they are blurry.
I wish there was somewhere on the torch to store the unused discs (there are 3) cos I can see these getting lost very quickly.
I also wish this didn’t use the button cell batteries that have been shown to be inappropriate for children to be near. They are screwed away so it’s reasonably safe, but there are far better options out there for powering a kids torch.
We got this for our 2 year old son and its brilliant! He just loves it. When i first turned it on, the pictures were blury which made me confussed but you have to turn the green bit on the end to adjust the focus! Ive noticed a couple of people complain about this so i assume they never worked this out. We hold it for him and move the pictures as its tricky for him to do. We also let him play with it whilst supervised and then its put away out of reach as its a potential choking hazard aswell as items pottentially getting lost. I wish there was an option to buy extra discs but overall its brilliant. Especially for the price.
Bought as a stocking filler for grandson. It was bashed and abused and thoroughly loved. If you can keep track of where a young child leaves the interchangeable picture wheels this is a present that will entertain and survive a childhood. Would buy another if further picture options became available for next Xmas
This is what my 3 year old son is playing with the most out of all his Christmas presents, even without the slides he enjoys using it as a normal torch.
Bought as a stocking filler, well worth the money – my 3 year old has had hours of fun with this! It’s bright and shows up on all surfaces without the need for complete darkness!
2 year old Granddaughter happy with this small gift. Bit of fun and at 6 you can’t go wrong. Enjoyed sitting in the dark and shouting out the names of the animals.
Little one loves it. Shes nearly 3 so its a little hard for her to out the discs in and you have to turn the top of the torch to focus the images.
Dont like that it uses button batteries.
My little one loves it though.
These are genuinely great! I got one for my 2 year old and her friend at her birthday party so he didn’t get jealous of her opening presents and she was more interested in this than any of the actual main gifts! Very easy to focus, if you can’t see the pics literally just spin the end it’s painfully obvious. Also comes with the batteries in ready, even the adults were impressed!
Some people have commented that the pictures are blurry – if you twist the end it puts the picture in focus! Perhaps they didn’t realise this.
Great gift for my 4 year old, bright and clear pictures. It helps him to learn the names of the different animals.
Lovely little torch good brightness, good range of pictures, took a minute to figure out the focus on it but once I did the pictures were amazing just a shame that the discs fall out so easy makes it hard for my little one to play!
It’s still a lovely product for my youngest but you can only project clearly while it is about 2.5inches in size. Still worth it but don’t expect a large projection of the images
Great picture quality good value for money. The round disks are very small and fall out easily so not suitable for small child without constant supervision. My little one loves it but got upset I couldn’t let her get on with it as the disks kept slipping loose and I had to keep helping her put back together and refocus the picture but she wanted to do it herself so ended in tears
I had to leave a review this is a great toy when you insert the disk you have to twist it a little to get the picture clear but the quality is really good. My child loves it before bed she sees all the animals on the wall and we name them together so its good for learning and fun. I might buy the others versions for her its quite cheap. Also images can be small or as large as a tv screen on the wall. looks like a projector image but only from a small torch. Which is great!
I was in two minds about whether to purchase these due to some of the reviews but I’m glad I did.
They are a great size for little hands to use as a regular torch when not using the animal discs and fun colours.
My son had been asking for a torch for some time and it quickly satisfied that. The animal aspect is great for a little fun animal activity.
I can see the discs getting lost quite easily so they are best stored somewhere safe. I’ve uploaded some photos to give an idea of clarity- I’m impressed with what I see. You do need to twist a little to focus. The placing of the discs and the focusing of the images is something that, age dependent, may require help. My 3.5 year old and nearly 2 year old needed help with this but a slightly older child may grasp it quicker.
Lastly, the torch is quite bright so guidance may be needed.
I purchased the animal and sea life ones and both are equally as good. I’m happy about the value for money and think they made great stocking fillers.

Brought for a little girl that loves animals, and this didn’t disappoint. A little smaller than i was maybe expecting, but that is no bad thing – it is perfect for little hands! The light from the torch is strong and can project the images in quite light conditions. The discs can be a little fiddly for a little one to insert and turn on their own, but still works well.
Excellent, product. The packaging is well made and secure with instructions of how to use the three slides provided in he torch. The pictures in the slides are varied and good quality.
The torch works really well in darkened areas and displays pictures clearly to a good quality.
I would recommend this product, if aimed at kids between 5-8 they will thoroughly enjoy it and have great fun looking at the pictures and as in our case creating Attenborough-esque wall presentations for the whole family.
A nice, fun product at a good price.
My autistic son loves it! It looks a bit cheap so I am not sure if you can buy it as a gift. I don’t mind that but my real problem is that they pictures are blurred and you have to push the tape forward to get clear. I am not sure if this is how it supposed to be but my autistic son find it difficult to understand that so i have to do it for him i have to hold the torch so he can see the pictures cleared.
Got this as a Christmas gift for our 3 year old nephew who is mad about animals!
The item arrived quickly via Prime next day delivery. First impression was somewhat underwhelming, the torch is well packaged but very small and looks like something you’d get from the pound shop, ok as an add on gift buy doesn’t look like much on its own.
Having said that, my nephew absolutely loves it! The picture quality is amazing if you adjust the zoom on the front. He was shining it on everything and everyone whilst excitedly naming all the animals. Worth the cost just to see his reaction. Kept him entertained for a good while. I’m sure he’ll use it at home in his bedroom at night!
I bought the torch for my 3 year old son and he loves it! The torch works well by it self but obviously the best thing about it is that it projects the animal images on the wall/ ceiling.
It comes with 3 discs each with 8 animal photos on it. It might be a bit tricky for younger kids to turn the disc but my soon eventually got it! I bought it for 4.99, so I cant judge it too harshly but I did find that the projections were a quite out of focus. I learnt that whilst holding the torch and gently pressing the top of the disc forward (towards the lense), the picture comes out a lot clearer – good luck getting your 3 y.o to listen!
A word of warning, the torch comes with 3 LR44 cell batteries which is annoying for replacing! Stock up on spares as they don’t last too long: Eunicell 20 Batteries Blister pack
It’s no cinematic experience, but you can get a decent picture from 2m away (bed to ceiling/ wall distance) and its good fun under the duvet too!
I bought it for our twin 3 years old daughters and they both like the images a lot.
The main drawback — the lack of storage box for image disks. Without is they tend to get lost very easy and to gather dust on the film as well. Tip – I keep disks in small plastic pot remained after some dessert.
Another small tip — the correct way of inserting the disk is with the small knob in its center turned towards you. It is very easy to insert it other way around but then you will have troubles with focussing and with rotating the disk.
I would strongly recommend the toy if your children show any interest in animals. The images are clear and large enough (for their taste). They can stand near the wall where pictures are projected and show various parts of the animals (e.g. giraffe’s neck), count their legs etc. I found it more convenient (and more unusual experience for children) than with large print photographs. I did not show all the animals at once, but introduced new disks after couple of days, to keep the novelty.
It would be great to have an option to by more disks separately. By the way, as you may guess, these disks are compatible with all other torches throughout the range.
Overall, for the price of 5-6 pounds I would not hesitate to buy / recommend this product.
I bought this 8 months ago. The kids (3 and 7) have both loved this thing. Yes the images are a little blurry, but they didn’t care in the slightest. Don’t get the wrong idea and think that this is for projecting a huge image across the room, this is for playing under the duvet cover in bed and projector a tiny image onto the wall. As I said, both kids loved it.
The one downside is that the batteries are now quite low, and I’ve now discovered that, despite being a normal torch shape, i.e. perfect shape for a AA battery, this thing takes 3 lithium button cell batteries (watch batteries). This is quite annoying as button cells are not easily rechargeable, and I make a point of using rechargeable batteries in all the kids toys so when they leave it turned on all night it doesn’t waste pricey batteries. On the other hand, the 3 button cells in this torch have lasted 8 months, so it isn’t all bad.
