This is a great little kit. Perfect for my 8 year old who wanted to build her first robot. She really enjoyed putting it together and then it was quick and easy to connect to the app. You have the option of voice commands, toggles or can code in routines. She loves it and I would highly recommend it.
Easy to build and code. Only problem decals tend to come away from main sheet with backing still on needed to use very fine pincers to extract to reveal adhesion.
I spent an afternoon with my 6 and 7-year old assembling this robot! They had to read the instructions and put this very practically designed kit together. Once assembled, the wifi connection was instant and the robot started to follow commands! It confuses right and left, but that’s an amusing challenge! The coding interface is very simple and intuitive and the voice commands work beautifully. Great product at a reasonable price, I will keep an eye out for more!
Review for BUDDLETS-Bot Robot Toy Kit for Kids Ages 8-12 – STEM Coding Robotic Toy Car for Beginners – Engineering DIY Building Kit with Voice, Coding & App Controlled Robot
A exploration and engineering toy which allows children to build and experiment with making a toy remotely controllable robotic vehicle. Comes with everything needed (excluding 3 x AA batteries), its just a case of following the instruction and steps to make you very own device. I really like these toys for helping teach and explore key engineering concepts to young children whilst they seemingly play. Well priced.
My son who is normally into his transformers really took to this. He enjoys coding so I thought I’d combine with a STEM toy. When he opened it, he wasn’t really interested but after convincing him to have a go at building it, he has since seen how fun a toy it is. It was the first toy he grabbed for this morning. He found it fairly easy to put together using the instructions and has had a great time testing out all the features.
Bought it as a Christmas gift for a 5 year old so he could do high-level programming to move the robot. He loved it and even attached blocks of Lego to it to make it prettier. He has managed to do simple programming on his phone but loves to move around the car in the house.
I must admit the motors are a little slow. Faster motors would have made it more fun.
Was easy to put together and my son enjoyed building it, we couldn’t get the app to connect to it however that could be a fault of ours when building
Bought for my 10 year old son, he put it together without any issues, the instructions were clear and concise. He needed help tightening the little screws holding the circuit board on but that was it. The app was easy to download and after help from customer support we were up and running. A good introduction to building and coding, nice to have an actual robot in front of him and not one on a screen (although you need a phone and app to use it) overall fun, nifty little robot. Great as an introductio
The screws are very small so I had to help with that part. It took my Son half hour to assemble and code but he spent a long time playing with it showing family and friends after.
Bought this for my six year old to learn about coding and it was ideal. She managed to build it herself and quickly got the hang of the controller. Would recommend.
I bought it as a gift for my nephew. He absolutely loved it.
it had clear instructions and was not that difficult for him to assemble. he is 9years old. It is a nice introduction to programming and robotics. Would highly recommend at the price.
A great little gift for anyone who likes building things and programming. Instructions were really easy to follow, and seeing my boy smile when using the remote was priceless.
Price and quality are perfec
Here is my kids perspective of the product:
I love this robot as it has alot of features : building, coding and the remote-control via mobile .If I were you, to improve this wonderful robot, in the ”Code” section of the app I would not put the option of time instead I would put the unit in degrees to change directions.
Purchased this as a Christmas gift for a Nephew who has had great pleasure with this gift. He is 8, and has not had any difficulties in using this gift due to the clear instructions provided with the kit. Highly recommended.
It’s a tough job to buy for Christmas for people who have everything. This was the perfect gift for a wonderful friend. He loves it. So easy to use and fun to play with.
This arrives in a rather underwhelming box. It just sort of looks a bit cheap if I’m honest. It’s not particularly expensive for what it is but I think it would be massively improved if it was just in a more professional box really!
My 11-year-old found this quite easy (instructions worked well). I think it could keep a child entertained for a while but it’s not a toy that they’re going to play with lots in my opinion. The novelty value wore off quite quickly, however I do think it’s got quite a lot of educational value and a younger child would probably get a bit more out of it. I’d say about 9/10 years old is ideal.
It’s well made and it feels as if it’s been thought about and I especially love the feature where you can add a Lego. Simple but changes it to another level cor me. That would keep a Lego fan quite entertained I expect!
So overall I do like this product and I think it’s worth the money because it isn’t actually not that expensive. (Compare this with the programmable Lego robot and you’ll see what I mean!) However there are things that could be improved and I think I would think twice about buying this as a gift for someone other than my own child.
