Forgotten how straightforward digital watches were to live with day to day. Absolutely love this watch, great value, all the functionality that I need day to day and if travelling. The only criticism I would have is the photo showing it in the persons hand makes it look larger than it is in reality. My usual watches are 41mm which cover most of the wrist, this watch is noticeably smaller but doesn’t take long to get used to.
This is the best watch I’ve had so far, very plane, simple and old fashion which is what I love.. Very easy to use, clear scree and no issues what so ever.. Would highly recommend this watch…
Fantastic watch but I adore the black resin original and it must comeback to mass productio
I bought this for my boyfriend, he loves it and likes that you can see what time it is in other parts of the world, I got mine engraved to make it more special.
Bought as a Christmas gift for my grandson who has a collection of Casio watches. He was very pleased with it.
Brilliant value for money, using it as a spare watch, a Casio never lets you dow
Easy to read and very light. Does not snag on clothing. All around usefull te keeper.
In the film Planes Trains and Automobiles John Candy tried to get a hotel room by telling the owner he has a Casio to help pay for room. After getting this I see why he wasn’t interested. The watch is lightweight. The light display is poor and the strap is rubbish. The clasp has fallen off so many times and watch fallen off wrist. If you are silly enough to buy this item just remember you’ll need a new strap very soon. This one’s awful. Cheap and nasty
Exactly as described, easy delivery no problem. Instruction are in the back of the box. Very easy to adjust strap with my tiny wrists. Bought because I wanted a nice retro digital watch from a classic brand. That’s what I got. Haven’t tested water resistance, I take it off to wash up. I actually bought 4 casios of assorted designs. Great value in my opinio
I use this watch for work which involves lots of travel to various countries in numerous time zones. This watch is ideal for the role. Furthermore, as it’s metal, it breathes and doesn’t make my wrist sweaty from non-UK climates.
I had a world time watch when I was a kid. This one isn’t metal however it’s good enough to wear with a suit. I find myself setting this to New Delhi time so I know what time it is for some colleagues in India. So many complications that make my mechanical watches so out of date….
I wanted a digital watch with a backlight. this was just right.
+Nice design, big display, good all-around lightweight digital watch
+World time with 4 shortcuts in the main time display mode (1 current time & 3 other configurable time-zones)
+Nice World map graphic representation with current time-zone highlights on the top right of the display
+4 “Pushers” (buttons)
+Nice SS brace and fine steps adjustable clasp
+Very accurate Quartz movement (Casio states +/- 30s per month – practically you’ll get a more accurate +/- 5s)
-Only one (amber) LED illuminating the LCD (pads are present on the PCB for soldering the second LED+resistor)
-Battery life could be better (only 3 years – At least 5 years would be nicer)
-As usually with cheap watches, the case is made out of resin (please Casio, do these in SS/Al.. )
-Current time is not displayed in the Stopwatch and Timer modes
I love the classic casios, this one especially because it comes with the world map, vintage design, but with a modern thought, I travel quite a lot so this one is perfect for me, it’s quite tough and the battery will last you literally for years.
If you wanna buy it just for collection i’d say definitely go for it, it’s only 30 something pounds at lest when I bought it.
Bought this watch just before going on a band tour of Costa Rica. Just wanted a watch that wasn’t going to be a pain to change the time on. Looks stylish and very easy to use. One thing to point out. The case is not metal. Not a problem for me, but felt worth mentioning. I love the retro look and feel.
Surprisingly comfortable to wear the s/s bracelet fitted perfectly out of the box. The display showing the world map is a brilliant piece of design, the functions are straight forward to set and use. This is a great watch for those days when you want to go “old school” back to the good old days in the 1980’s, it’s light and easy to forget you are wearing a watch.
A really smart watch for the money, as stylish now as it ever was (maybe even more now). As a child of the 80’s it’s retro style brings back many good memories and makes a refreshing change from todays smart watches.
Got this to replace a really unreplaceable Japanese made 248W 750 that I’ve had for many years. It has a screw back with a CR 2016 battery that lasts and lasts. Still fully functional the only problem is that over the years I scratched the glass terribly and cannot get a replacement. Although the A500 is a new Chinese made breed of Casio it bares NO comparison with the quality and build of the 248W. It is difficult to hear the audio signals generated by a key press and the alarm signals are very high pitched likewise.
It’s very similar to the watch I once bought and lost, that’s what I was looking for.
Has the functions I like, but is not good to wear whilst swimming, which is the only downside (I didn’t try swimming in it, the instructions said I can wash hands and have a shower in it).
It looks better than my previous Casio watch.
what a great watch for the price, i remember in the 80s these things cost around 20, so to still be in that same price area 30 yrs later makes them such a bargain. i love the fact i can quickly step thru 4 favourite cities.
I paid 25 pounds for this watch and have given it a five star rating. I’d drop it to 4 stars if I paid the full 35 pounds. It has a nice retro look, and does its job perfectly well. What is less obvious on the pictures is that the case is chrome coloured resin and the strap is stainless steel. This keeps the cost down but does in turn make the watch look cheap – which of course it is! So can’t really complain.
