Second time buying and edifice watch.
Great value watch, purchased after seeing the same watch in retailers with an RRP 230
So a bargain to be had from Amazon.
But a bargain at a cost.
Purchased this item on 17th from Amazon only to find out it’s coming from EU.
Departed France Amazon fulfillment centre today .
But will not arrive until April 1st.
And they call this rushed shipping.
Complaint made to Amazon as when purchased it clearly stated upto 3/4 working days for delivery (I except it will take a little longer being shipped from EU).
But why have they sat on the order for nearly 6 days before dispatch (stated 5 items in stock at time of order)
Second complaint after follow up from Amazon customer services, saying the date has now changed to April 1st.
We will prioritize your order, unless you would like a full refund, no I’d would like the watch, as it is a present.
Ok you will receive it within the next 48hrs.
We will contact you back in 48 hours to make sure you have received your item.
Sure enough they called me back, and said that the watch would be delivered on Saturday
No such luck, watch has only just been dispatched and left France (now Monday)
Sadly a great product , given from experience but sadly let down by poor communication and delivery from Amazo
Bought this watch after looking for a day to day timepiece that was good looking and not too pricey. Paid 80 on Amazon which was cheaper than normal and arrived within 4 days.
Watch is decent, no negatives so far, had it on whilst swimming in the sea and it held up no problem, accuracy seems good so far…and it’s eye catching enough to look better that other price range option. I’d recommend
The watch comes in a cardboard box which lets the watch down. Casio G-shock watches come in a presentation tin which looks much better. Strange that G-shocks are meant to be utility watches but Edifice watches are classier.
The hands and hour markers have adequate lume but fall short of the best. There is no light.
I can hear no ticking even when the watch is pressed against my ear. Note that the second hand is on the small dial at the 6 o’clock position. The third hand on the main display is for the stopwatch so don’t panic that the watch isn’t working when you take it out of the box for the first time or try to set the watch.
The strap is made of sold not folded links which adds weight and prevents the bracelet pulling on wrist hairs. I found adjusting the length by removing links very difficult because the pins are wedged tight. Best to take it to a jeweller. I have put mine on a NATO strap and it looks good; the strap width is 22mm.
The instructions are laughably brief. No mention of the screw down crown or how to use the slide rule bezel. I note a lot of negative reviews based on ‘faulty’ crowns and lack of water resistance. Serves Casio right for not explaining what to do.
If you search ‘slide rule bezel’ you can find out how these things work but I suspect most people will never want to use this feature. I’m old enough to have used a slide rule and understand what it’s all about but I can’t see myself ever choosing this watch over the calculator on my phone. Still, it’s fun to play with.
The watch movement is a Miyota by Citizen. This is a reliable and safe choice by Casio. If you look at Casio G-shock watches with a second hand and one of Casio’s own movements you’ll see there are significant quality control problems there.
The quality of this watch is second to none. My dad loves this watch and wears it everyday without fail. He has had many compliments on the watch both at work and at home, personally.
The price for the watch is well placed in comparison to competitors. I took a long time weighing up which to buy him and I’m more than confident that in time to come when he, I or someone else wants to buy him a new watch he will stick to the Casio company and design as it really gives a high quality look and feel for a reasonable price.

Its a three years or so since I wrote this review and I am still wearing the watch every day and it still looks good and works well. I have had to change the battery, the local shop did this. I wear the watch when swimming and in the shower and have never had any problems, its total waterproof.
The strap and the catch are still fine and the catch closes as well as it did when I bought it.

This is another good Casio, feels very robust, has a very secure clasp on the bracelet, its easy to read and very comfortable to wear. It is sold with quite a long bracelet, other reviewers have also commented on this, in fairness, i think this is a fairly savvy move from Casio as its always easier to take un-necessary links out rather than trying to source extra ones if needed, i have reasonably large wrists and had to have 3 links removed. I personally found it to feel quite compact on my wrist but thats probably because i’ve spent about 10 years wearing bigger chunkier G-Shocks.
The only downside i found was the slide rule on the outer edge of the face is a wee bit naff, nowadays if people are really that bothered about converting figures they will no doubt have and app on a phone or computer that will do a better job, faster. i personally would have preferred a backlight instead, but thats a small gripe, overall this is still a very good watch and well worth the price.
I had problems with delivery due to the first package being damaged in transit by the courier, the Amazon Customer Service rep that i spoke to was very friendly and helpful, a new one was dispatched immediately with no charge for postage, i received it 2 days later.
Got it as a gift. Was a bit apprehensive considering some of the reviews here.. but the one where it says that unable to unwind crown is wrong. It is just wound a bit tight for the first time use .. once you manage to unwind the crown for the first time you can set it properly. Just need to read the instructions very carefully. (and understand them too)
Seems to keep good time, lots of people ask me about it. Someone even asked me if it was a breitling!
Very happy with it and it looks really good.
If you hold it over a light for a few seconds before going to bed the hands are easy to read while glowing nicely in the dark. Some people have said the face is a bit busy and its hard to read the time. I disagree and I have no problems reading the time at all.
I had to remove a couple of links from the bracelet. Rather than pay someone, I bought one of those 5 link/pin removal kits from Amazon and did it myself with ease.
Buy it, I don’t think you will regret it.
I spent a few weeks looking for a watch I wouldn’t mind wearing in work that would also look good enough to be a dress watch. (I looked at Invicta, Seiko, Accurist and Citizen as well.) I hadn’t had a Casio since I was in High School but I figured it looks good, the price is great (I saved an extra 20% by subscribing to the fashion newsletter update – Bonus!) so 70 for a watch that upon receiving I think I would have happily paid 250 for. It’s heavy in a way that I’m aware its there but its not annoying, nice big dial and it feels like a high quality item – because it is.
The slide rule you will never use, as Casio also make these magic things called Calculators. But the single button to the side makes the slide rule ring move around and – that’s a first for me and people seem impressed by it, not that I bought it for them!
Honestly, if you have the money I cannot rate this highly enough only the addition of an Eco Drive / Kinetic energy system or even Solar could improve this watch.
Only slight niggle..I’m a big strapping Chap and even I’m looking at having 2 or 3 links removed from the bracelet (Which has a double lock thing on it!) so instead of paying 10 for this I wish I’d paid a fiver for the litle plastic tool you can buy to do it yourself..is all.
Unless you are prepared to pay significantly more this is an excellent watch for everyday use. It looks good on, and is chunky but not overdone. You’ll probably need to take some links out to get a snug fit. I had to ask the jewellers how to adjust the time as I could’nt get the winder out. They told me it needs to be unscrewed first, as this is part of its waterproofing, then bingo! This isn’t mentioned in the instructions, so don’t try to force it. Not particularly well lit at night if that bothers you. In summary I am we’ll pleased with my purchase and would recommend.
This is the first edifice watch that I’ve owned.It arrived a day before ETA. Well what a great bit of kit. Nice size, cumfy strap, that was very easy to remove the two links required to fit me.Not too bulky, and the luminosity lasted well into the night. Face is clear and easy to read, unlike some watches with busy dials where the hands mingle with all the info printed on face. It’s quartz so keeps fantastic time. Very pleased with this purchase. Highly recomended.
I was disappointed that there were no instructions or warranty card and that the watch was rattling around loose inside the Casio box. I guess that’s a small price to pay for such a big saving. Consequently, I have no idea how the bezel and slide rule work but I’m sure Mr Google will provide the answers!
My impressions ……
1. Watch looks very classy and a bit brash. What I mean by that is, it looks very striking and in sun it will draw a bit of attention due to its “blinginess” .
2. Functions. The watch is very easy to setup, just like a traditional watch. Chronograph works well and keeps time accurately.
3. Built like a rock. The watch is very solid and is waterproof to a 100m, so its not going to fall apart very soon.
4. Watch is not too large. I have read people who say the watch is too large, but I can tell that the watch is medium size. The face is not very big in diameter and the thickness is noticeable at first but becomes second nature after wearing it for a few days.
5. Watch bracelet is very large. I had to remove two links from each side. This depends on the size of your wrists. It is fairly inexpensive to adjust the size, so don’t be put off by this. All watches have large straps.
6. The face is very busy and has lots of shiny dials as stated in my first point. The time is fairly easy to read due to the silver accents on the watch face. Much easier to read time than a G-Shock in my opinion.
Would I recommend this watch ? Absolutely !
I have never had a watch with so much quality and craftsmanship gone into its making. Yes it might be a bit “shiny” for some but if you are a sort of person, who has great taste in quality items then this is the watch for you. I think the chronograph is just for novelty, but if you use it then this should work just fine.
NOTE : If you don’t like the bracelet, you can always use a black (or any colour) leather strap which would suit the watch very well.

As I got it for ten pounds less than the price listed.
I bought this watch for my husband for his birthday. He absolutely loves it – it has a clear face, it is bold and masculine and is still very stylish. We have also come to find out it is very tough. The watch disappeared about three weeks ago, and reappeared in the mouth of our cat outside the kitchen window. She got a fright when my husband spotted it, so jumped off the ledge and dropped the watch in the frosty grass. We think it has been outside in the harsh late autumn for three weeks – not a scratch, no sign of wear or damage and still keeping perfect time. Apparently even our moggy thinks it’s stylish.
This Casio has a very premium feel, excellent weight, quality strap and a very detailed face. The watch retails at almost 300 in most high street shops so its an absolute bargain. When i had the strap adjusted, the shop owner commented on it being one of the best Casio watches out there and couldn’t believe the price.

even at 110 its a good price as it retails at 250.
the watch looks good on the wirst, is not to heavy (I was expecting it to weigh me down to be honest !)
and is easy to change in terms of the date and time etc.

It’s well known that Casio produce watches of exceptional quality, construction and functionality. I have been completely knocked out by this timepiece. It is everything you read about it, i.e. attractive looks, outstanding features, superbly built and a lot more besides. My watch was delivered EARLIER than the quoted delivery date, very well packaged and supplied in a lovely gift box with a comprehensive instruction booklet. The cherry on this particular cake was the cost…less than HALF the makers recommended price !! Am I a happy shopper ? YEP !! Get one from the same supplier, IF they’re still available. Alan Mc. I, too, got this for just over 60 using a 15-off Fathers’ Day offer — an amazing price for a quality product. It’s fashionably large (but not too large) and, because of the decent materials used, is quite heavy (but not too heavy).
It keeps very good time having gained just 4 seconds in a month. I needed three links removed from the bracelet (an easy DIY job) and there is plenty of additional adjustment on the clasp – so it’s easy to get a good, comfortable fit.
The watch has quite a “busy” face which you may think gives you lots of functions – not so. Just the time, date and simple stop watch; the moveable internal bezel is largely useless for most people.
All-in-all, highly recommended- particularly at the price I paid!
the dial lighting is very weak in the dark.
Otherwise it looks and feels nice definitely worth under a hundred pounds

I have seen this watch on the high street for 250.00, and it is definitely worthy of that price tag.
The overall finish of the watch is first class, and, being blunt, I can’t fault it. I haven’t owned a Casio watch since my school days, and that was some time ago now! That was a cheap and cheerful plastic digital piece……. And that was how I have seen Casio ever since….. Kinda cheap and cheerful! But, honestly, I really do feel like I am wearing quality on my wrist when I wear this watch. In closing, I love it, and Amazon is nuts to be selling at the price I got it for!!!!
Great watch, great price. I took this watch to a local shop to get the strap adjusted and they had the same watch on sale at RRP for 250. So its a good deal.
I have one minor issue with the watch. Its not as striking as it looks in the picture. For me I like a steel chrono watch to have a really sharp contrasting jet black face – the two compliment each other and stands out in a very stylish way. The sharp polished metal against a stand out jet black watch face gives a very nice look. This face is very very busy with lots of detail and feels a little over the top and the black face is a little on the dull side colour wise, almost like in some lights the watch face itself is more like a very dark grey/almost black.
That said its a lovely watch for the money, for me a little less detail and a more striking jet black watch face would give a slightly classier feel. But dont let that put you off, its just my personal taste as its still well worth the money and I’m keeping it 🙂
