I ordered two panels for a very large (and tall) window in our living room. These are really heavy, nice quality curtains. I ordered the Grey Beige color, and they look a little warmer and darker in color than I expected (more of a tan or even khaki color). I don’t see anything that would make me think “grey” when I look at them. But fortunately they work fine in our living room, just not quite what I expected. They’re really beautiful! The hooks are good quality too, and the adjustability is a neat feature. Very pleased! I need to steam them now, and figure out how to “train” them as I’ve read about doing. Going to order a second set for our sliding door in the dining room, but I hope the color turns out to be the same – that this first set wasn’t an “oops” and accidentally a different color than ordered, since they’ll be in basically the same room. We will see.
The curtains are very high-quality. Unfortunately, I bought the wrong size.
These are such beautiful curtains, I immediately ordered a second set for another room. It is hard to believe they are not real linen. They look and feel almost exactly like the real thing, are a nice heavy weight, and look far more expensive than this price point would indicate. I ordered the sand beige, which I think other reviewers have mentioned is not completely blackout, but they have a very good level of room darkening, and serve my purpose just fine. Now I’m looking around my house to see where else I can put these! So much nicer than I had expected
These are a very nice quality and the best room darkening drapes I have ever found even though I got white. They hang beautifully and we are very pleased. They also came more than three weeks earlier than expected so that was nice!
They’re made fairly well and arrived quickly… but I will have to redo the liner.
They should warn the customer about the liners. I ordered beige white linen curtains with blackout liner. However, the liner is grey and shows through the linen which changes the color of the curtain. The sides are sewn a bit crooked as well so I would’ve had to resew the sides anyway. Its frustrating and time consuming as well as costly to order more liner and pay for a reline. I doubt I’ll order these again.
Hi all, if you are considering these curtains, I say don’t worry, just buy them. They are well made, with straight, tidy stitching – all the pockets for the pins for hanging were well made. We ordered ours with lining and it has a nice, luxurious feel. When the package arrived we were surprised by the weight. The fabric is convincingly natural heavy linen looking, even though apparently it’s a mystery polyester. They also arrived faster than expected delivery date (by a week), so I hope the same happens for you. (One small afterthought, the maker of these curtains could consider weighting the bottoms so they hang straight down with a little force.)
I was surprised at the quality. They are heavy and luxurious. I ordered these to cover a 12 ft french sliding door, and cover a span of 3 windows in a 14′ run. I have had them for almost a year now. I wanted floor to ceiling coverage, with the curtain touching the floors, however I forgot to account for the curtain rod not touching the ceiling. The ‘compression’ when open has increased over time some, I think they would look better if I installed a different type of rod system because I have supports that prevent them from being fully closed. I was in a hurry to get them up, and I did it by myself using a ladder to support the weight as I hung the hooks. I will soon try to wash these as my dogs have stepped on the drapes comming inside and we live in a muddy wet climate.
he curtains are easy to install, looks nice. is working with Tuya-Smart Life electric track (WIFI) and with Alexa. My wife loves the curtains.
Saved thousand$ by ordering these drapes ready-made instead of custom-made, and installing ourselves. We put them over three large windows and a 13 foot wall of closets. Quality stitching, fabric is heavy weight and looks much better than expected. Color is grayish white linen looking, good texture. Blackout at 97%ish is dark enough for us. Your drapery rod and supports need to be able to hold these substantial draperies. Very happy with purchase.
I looked everywhere for the perfect curtains and was prepared to splurge – these are the best I found. I’ve had them for a year and they look great with nice texture and weight. Love them!
After reading so many positive reviews I am so glad I pulled the trigger on these! They are absolutely stunning! I got the blackout liner which makes them very thick, so definitely make sure you have a strong rod. Once steamed they lay perfect, open and closed. I was nervous ordering the color based off pictures alone, but the beige white is a perfect neutral. Not yellow at all. Will go great with grays and creams.
These curtains exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship is amazing. I couldn’t find any fault if I tried.
I was so disappointed that I had to return them. But I am following this seller and will be back. Unfortunately the flimsy curtain rod I had installed, just couldn’t hold the weight of the linen and lining. These are definitely blackout curtains.
Instead of removing the rod, patching the wall, etc. I chose to return the curtains. It was a tough decision.
I did months of research and read hundreds of reviews and even bought the 30.00 fabric wheel prior to this purchase. We were looking for a curtain to use above our patio door that we would use at certain times of the day to block afternoon sun and to provide privacy . We chose the “Firebrick” color although several of the other colors would have also matched and looked great. We LOVE this curtain…great craftsmanship, beautiful color, and fabric is weighty and hangs beautifully. We paired it with a rod we also bought on amazon (the link is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088MHKZ9C?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details). The rod is also well made and looks beautiful with this curtain. Overall, we are so happy with both products! Our friends are so impressed that they have borrowed our fabric wheel and have also purchased several pairs! If you are undecided you really should order this product. Fast delivery (about 1 week delivery time), great price and a luxury product.
We looked everywhere for curtains in the right color, with white lining, durable material, extra wide, and good quality. Especially during the COVID shortage in materials it became extra challenging. Then we found these ChadMade curtains. They were a bit more expensive, but Amazon reviews suggested a good product. Thank you to those who assembled thorough reviews. They are definitely worth the extra cost and are of great value. Also, they had our wide and tall size, 72×96, in a color we really liked. The color was spot on with the zoomed in view of the material online. We got the sand color. It’s a fabulous color that has maybe 3 or more different thread colors weaved together. Looks great and of high quality. The pletes are done very well and the whole thing is very well manufactured and feels and looks of high quality. The adjustable pins it comes with are perfect. They slide into each plete. They sent two extra pins too. The polyester material came with very mild wrinkles. We hung them up the minute they arrived without any steaming and they look great. The curtains are pretty heavy and significantly reduce light. I would not rate them at blackout curtains, but they do filter most light out and are close the blackout level.
On delivery, they initially showed 3 or 4 weeks to deliver. But, it actually arrived in 2 weeks upon order. It came from China via DHL. My only nit is they wrapped in a very light bag for overall packaging. The bag had a few holes in it when it arrived. I suspect maybe customs opened a couple of corners or maybe some scrapes occurred during transport. Luckily, each curtain is inside an individual thick zipped up bag. So, eventhough the shipping bag had a few holes the curtain was protected and arrived with no damage or issues. One of the zipped bags was slightly unzipped at same location as the hole in the bag, so I suspect customs might have done it. In short, these are some of the best curtains we’ve ever bought. We are thinking now to buy another set to replace and older curtain in another room now in case we cannot find these again in a year or so. We highly recommend.
So impressed by these! Took a few weeks to arrive but so glad I purchased them. They are very thick and heavy. I have them mounted on pottery barn clip rings/ curtain rods (narrow .75 inch) and they look soooo good! The fabric and quality is much better than I expected and would cost major $$$ to get them made in the US. I ended up ordering more for a bedroom and will probably order more in the future. The fabric color I ordered was Beige White and there is a really only minimal beige/yellow-y tones (in the photo the warm coloration is due to the lighting). They are pretty cool-toned overall, but if your decor was warmer I think it would still work well. The clips included worked perfectly with my hardware. Highly, highly recommend!
I read many of the reviews and took a few months before deciding to order two 150″ x 96″ panels for my 115″ sliding patio door. No regrets! However, I returned one panel because a single 150″ panel was the perfect amount of fullness for my patio door, two-panels would have been too much. I requested they shorten the length to 94″, which they kindly did at no extra charge! So awesome – however, I should have gone a bit shorter but I just wasn’t sure how the length would turn out with our traverse rod. The quality of the fabric and thickness of the lining blew me away at this price point. I was very impressed! They are definitely a blackout & thermal drape if you’re looking for that with a very classy look! I did order the sample swatch book in advance as the various beige/white options do look different in person – so it’s worth the $20 bucks to do that. They were so great about letting me return the second panel I didn’t need. If you’re hesitating on ordering these – just do it!
These are extremely heavy and well made draperies. The price may seem high at first but they are a great value considering the size and quality.
I ordered the Snow White which when against a warm paint color reads a tiny bit blue so I wish I had gotten the warmer white color but that’s entirely on me. I’m still extremely happy with these.
These drapes are well-made and they look really nice. They just seem to be a little bit long for the measurements that I took, and the hooks on the plastic inserts for the traverse rod are too big for the holes in my traverse rod. I’ve had my rod for about 25 years, so that’s probably why. However, they hang nicely and look really nice. I suspect they will keep it warmer in my living room over the winter, and they certainly block out the light. I’m pleased.
I bought the Chad Made 50 x 63 length as a replacement for my old JC Penny long drapes.
The width and new length is perfect for my window. At first I did not like the plastic pin hooks but I have to say they are so handy because they are adjustable and I moved the hook down two notches to have it closer to my travis rod. Now no gap. You have to make sure you do NOT adjust them to far.
I definitely would buy again. Sorry I could not get a lighter photo. This is the rust brown color.
Product arrives folded in small package, will be a bit wrinkled at first but smooths out after hanging. Hooks included. You can adjust up to about 2 inches using the hooks to get an exact length. The hooks have small notches so you can tweak the fit. I bought the beige white — colour is true to product photo. Colour is a true blend of beige and white. I was worried they might be a bit yellow, but they are definitely on the neutral side. The sewing is great quality. Lining is a soft, bright white. Very happy with my purchase!
These drapes are beautifully made and having the hanging hardware (not the rings) is a real perk. The only issue is that the white beige reads as gray as the liner is gray. These were meant for the living room but I happen to have gray walls in the bedrooms so I was able to use most of them. See image above. I put a white cloth between the drape and the lining and it is much different. I am actually ordering more from the company as the product itself is great but I DO wish that the lining was a true white as these would have been perfect. BTW they are VERY heavy so use the support brackets in your rods!
I was really surprised with the quality of these draperies. The pleats were better looking that expected.
The fabric had a soft hand and the lining was very white and soft too. I ordered a very large size and they were very heavy but I managed to install myself.
I’m giving it a four star because of the smell and the length of the draperies. The package smelled of stink bugs when I opened the draperies- no bugs -thank goodness. The length of the draperies were longer than i ordered. I had to adjust the pin setting which was easy with the plastic drapery pins included. I plan on ordering another panel soon. Overall- great!
The material is very nice looking and appears to be of good quality. The insulated lining works great. They cover a huge window that gets blasted with afternoon sun. I would have given them a 5 but I think they would fit better with a different rod. The top where the hooks go is a little narrow. But over all I like them a lot. A definite 4 1/2.
I and THRILLED with my curtains.
1. They arrived much earlier than I had expected – even during the holiday season they arrived on the early end of the given time spectrum.
2. The color is perfect, not too yellow either it is the perfect neutral warm oatmeal tone I had wished for!
Works so well with the beachy feel of the room.
3. I was a bit worried about the martial perhaps looking and feeling cheap due to the polyester.
The contrary was the case. They look super lush and upscale. They feel good to the touch and I am happy about the ease of care being able to use a washing machine.
4. The curtains were shipped with adjustable pins which I realized only after I re-used my old pins — either way the track is covered just as I wanted!
Every time I re-enter the room they are hanging in, I feel so very happy about this purchase all over again.
A Big Thank You to ChadMade!
I never bother with reviews, but as this is the first time I have ordered drapes “online” I have been pleasantly surprised and thought that I would share. These drapes are really high quality! I ordered the pinch pleat, white, with the blackout thermal lining in size 84″ x 96″ long. They were delivered as promised and the wrinkles were very minimal and have fallen away for the most part. They include these great adjustable hooks for hanging on your transverse rod! There is a slot for the hook to fit it. Easy! The price is very reasonable!! The sewing and workmanship is top-notch. So much so that I have ordered a custom drape 123″ wide by 63″ long for another window in the same room.
Custom order was amazingly easy and it is on it’s way.
I will update this review when I receive that custom order.
I LOVED these draperies. They are so well made, the fabric is superb, and they drape beautifully. Even without ironing, they shook out any wrinkles without any ironing or steaming. Seams were strong, even, and again…..I can’t describe how rich this fabric is. Looks like a crisp heavy weight linen and the lining is wonderful. Unfortunately, I have a weird window configuration with a curved traverse rod very very close to an architectural curve dropped from the ceiling. The traverse rod won’t pull these heavy curtains “around the bend,” so unfortunately I have to return them. IF I could give these draperies 10 stars I would. They are heavy, well made, well insulated, and beautiful.
This is my second order for a pair of “Chad-made” 96 inches drapes. The quality and weight is outstanding and without question, they could rival any custom made drapery. The color I ordered was Snow White. Other reviewers mentioned a cool gray effectand they are correct. However, the color compliments my furniture and walls and I will keep them-great quality.
DHL is the carrier service that the manufacturer uses (Hong Kong). On Amazon, DHL reported two attempt deliveries. I checked camera gate surveillance and saw no delivery vehicles for those datesnor were there any voicemails left. Only after I wrote to cancel the order on Amazon, did I receive the delivery. This was the only issue I experienced.
These Teal pinch pleat drapes (patio door, 100″x 84″) came from China within about 3 weeks. The teal color is deep and rather dark but looks rich & linen-elegant over the patio door. I wasn’t sure the pinch pleats and the plastic “hardware” (drapery hooks) would fit the holes in the traverse rod, but they work perfectly.
As other purchasers note, the blackout-lined drapes are quite heavy — the patio door drapes weigh in at 7 kg (=about 15 lbs), so I used a heavy duty double traverse rod above the patio door, since it’s the only way to avoid a center bracket that would prevent drawing the drapes completely to one side (I used a “left draw” traverse rod). No need to order 95″ length — that would be overkill. Suggest you use a wand to open & close and forget using the cord with the traverse rod.
Just received my drapes today and they’re awesome. The size, color and fabric were correct and they’re well made. I’m glad I have heavy duty rods because these things are weighty. I was actually having a hard time holding the full weight of each panel up in the air while standing on my tiptoes to get the first few hooks in the rod. I don’t consider that negative though. It’s a good “problem” to have. My windows also happen to have miniblinds on them, so between the blinds and the heavy drapes my bedroom is a total “cave”, which is exactly what I was looking for.
These got to us way faster than I expected, which was a great surprise considering I had requested some customization. We have a very large picture window in our living room and it’s been hard to find drapes to fit this width without spending an arm and a leg. Also, we have 96 inch ceilings so 84 is too short and 96 is too long. During the customization period I requested that all of the panels be 90″ long instead. I ordered three 100 inch wide panels and they’re all perfect size and length. I picked the beige white color and I can see why some might think it’s a little grey but it’s still close enough to white/beige to work for our room. It didn’t bother me because it’s still a very neutral/natural/airy feeling fabric. With the lining they are VERY heavy so be forewarned that you will need a very sturdy rod. We used ivilon rings (also found on amazon) and lavi industries brackets with 1.5 inch diameters wooden closet or railing rods that we stained ourselves. These curtains are more room darkening than I had intended for, but that will help it stay much cooler in the summer. I steamed and am currently in the process of training the pleats.
Was a little hesitant about ordering drapes online but the wife wanted them now and these were within our budget. I of course wanted to wait and have custom ones made locally but they were almost 4 times as much. I can now add this to the never-ending list of reasons of why I should just remain silent and listen to her to begin with. We have a 12′ bay window we purchased these for and are hung on an electric automatic curtain opener system. We are very happy with the way they look hanging. Whether open, closed or half way in between they hang nicely and the pleating looks great.
PROS: 1) placed the order and was listed as receiving in approximately 4wks….arrived at our door in 9 days. 2) very well packaged with each panel in its own plastic zippered bag 3) no smell to the curtains when unpacked other than just your normal new fabric smell…not the chemically smell you sometimes get with items 4) they came with adjustable hangers which were easy to install and are much nicer than your standard pleat hooks 5) color was an exact match to what was shown online….we went with the stone grey 6) upon close inspection the stitching looks very good 7) good quality feel to the fabric. 8) noticeable difference on noise from outside when they are closed
CONS: though they are a heavy well made drape with a liner and backer, they are not blackout curtains. Would be more inclined to label them room darkening. We have blackout curtains in the bedroom and after a little trial & error with size and hanging position they do keep the room quite dark even on the brightest of days with no light coming through the curtain itself. These however, when closed during the daytime light is still visible through the curtain. We have the windows tinted being that it is so large and a south facing window. Because of that its not that big of an issue. Its is also in the living room so complete darkness during daytime not an issue. I just think that without the windows being tinted they may be a little more light bleeding (even with the darker colored fabric like we got) than one would expect being they are described as near blackout.
The pic is in daytime on a lightly overcast day. And all the glass behind it also has tintvon it.
Overall very happy with the purchase and think they are a great deal for the quality. Just don’t expect to be as darkening as described.
I am super impressed with the overall quality of these curtains. I absolutely love them!! First off, they are very heavy, but very, very well made. I normally have my curtains custom made and spend a fortune! I’m sad to say that these were 1/4 of the price and just as nice. The length and width are perfect. I love the fact that you can adjust the plastic pins that come with the curtains and attach to the curtain rings. I really don ‘t like using ring clips (they rarely work long term and DO NOT work with heavy curtains) and hanging pins are a nightmare to work with and they are hardly ever even. The adjustable clips that come with the curtains could not have been easier to install and to adjust. I also appreciated the plastic cases they came in, because the plastic they were shipped in opened up a bit and fortunately the curtains were in a plastic case or they would definitely have been damaged.
Seriously, these curtains are definitely worth it! Lastly, I think I was quoted 4-5 weeks, but they actually came a week early. I would definite;y recommend them!!
These are very well made substantial drapes. They are literally hangable out of the package . They come with the pleat inserts that are also sturdy and easy to insert(you then need actual hooks or rings.. unless you’re using a traverse rod..
They are not completely black out . We live in Oregon and our MB has a southern exposure. The photo is the windows with window shards behind the curtain. However they are close and provide is enough darkness on summer mornings. They are baby drapes people .. I had a 156 wide window so if you have that kind of width you need a substantial rod with support. Mine worked but I would buy an raven have to rod if I had to do it over .. if you have a smaller area to cover a one inch rod will be fine but you’re going to need a middle bracket no matter what.. trust me on this.. I love the color and the workmanship ..
I absolutely LOVE them. They are well made and look exquisite. This is at a fraction of the cost for my other sliding door. I paid almost $2k from 3 day blinds. I got a horrible customer service and an ok product from 3 day blinds. I wish I had saved my money. I am horrible with color so I will be ordering chocolate brown instead of the bronze to match my A.R.T dining room sets.
PS: They are very heavy so you will need good support.
PSS: The plastic strips around them was to train them. It was left on for 2 days (peeped after a day and decided longer). It is a step you don’t want to omit. I did not need to iron or stem them
Purchased four of the lighter shade of these drapes for LR/DR and hung them immediately upon receipt. They were very easy to install. Was a bit disappointed in the plastic pleaters that were included, as they were not very substantial and a couple of them broke. Thankfully, an extra had been included in two of the packages. They really transformed the area versus my old drapes. They hang nicely and provide good privacy when closed. I do not use them for black-out purposes, but they would work well for that, also.
One reviewer said they worked well right out of the package; however, the folding creases from packing have not fallen out of mine after a month, so I will have to steam them out. Otherwise, these are perfect.
I was very worried about what these curtains would end up looking like, especially because they are so reasonably priced. We have had the hardest time finding a curtain that would fit our sliding door. We needed one that was 102 inches long by 100 wide. We purchased the teal color….and I am obsessed. The color is beautiful….rich but not too bright. The fabric looks like a linen, and the wrinkles were slight and easily removed with a steamer. This curtain custom made would have been a fortune. The two things to be aware of…..one, you have to sign for this delivery. I had placed a note on my door with my signature, but I also lucked out and was home when they were delivered. Secondly, they are heavy. We ended up buying a galvanized rod (less than $10) that fit inside our 100 inch curtain rod. This has prevented the rod from bowing since we cannot use a reinforcement support because we have to be able to close the entire curtain across our slider door. Truly a great purchase. You will not be disappointed in the quality!
