This is my first dive computer, and I found it easy to understand and simple to use though the push / hold button sequences took a little practice (definitely recommend playing around with it for a bit before using it on a dive). At first I didn’t hear it beeping underwater, but once I recognized what it sounded like, it was loud enough to catch my attention. My only complaint, as a smaller woman, is the size — it felt a little large on my wrist, and I think I’ll need to trim some length off the wrist strap so that I don’t feel like it’s getting in the way. No issues reading it underwater.

If you dive a lot you probably want to invest in a computer with more features, but this is a practical, (comparatively) affordable entry-level device for casual / occasional divers.

I just completed 10 dives with the Cressi Giotto. Overall I am very satisfied with the use and the functionalities it offers. I bought it after completing my advance open water and while I thought I would never use the nitrox feature, I am glad I had this option and I didn’t need to buy a new computer.

Once you spend some time going over the setup and the functions, it is very easy to use the computer. It is very easy to read underwater (I have used only once the backlight in high depth and very dark conditions) and it gives you a nice overview of all the information you need: current depth, max depth, remaining decompression time, safety stops and dive time.

The log book function keeps all the data you need to know about your dive and anything you might want to add to your physical logbook (times, water temperature, etc.).

The only thing I noticed (and it’s not necessarily a drawback) is that when diving with Nitrox, the SF2 setting is very very conservative. It gave me a long safety stop (18 minutes at 3 meters for a max depth of 30m) and when I missed that it went crazy beeping and wouldn’t let me dive again until I reset it and changed to SF0 safety factor. Good thing that upon resetting once, you don’t loose any history of max depth or the logbook.

Cressi Giotto mi e’ piaciuto per la facilita’ di configurazione,per la precisione dei dati (confrontati con altri computer),per la facilita’ di lettura in iimmersione. Lo comsiglio sia a chi e’ gia’ esperto sia a chi inizia adesso ad immergersi.L’ unica nota neegativa non riguarda il prodotto ma il sistema di consegna:lancio del pacco in giardino dalla strada (benedetto il buonissimo imballaggio) non deve essere consegnato a brevi mano?
Ad ogni modo se cercate un buon computer per immersioni considerate senza dubbio questo podotto.

Very nice dive computer! I used it recently during 8 dives in Cozumel and it performed w/o a hitch. I need to spend a little more time studying all the functions but the face is easily readable (I normally wear readers) through my non-prescription lens. The safety-stop calculator is very nice.
