Accurate to 0.1mm, spare battery.. made of robust plastic.. does what it was meant to..
I bought this as I recently got a 3d printer and have been printing parts for projects, replacements for broken items, etc.. This has been invaluable in measuring some of the small components – has an accuracy to 0.1mm. I can’t find fault, it has been perfect for my requireme
Lightweight, easy to read, and very accurate, I find I’m now using it all the time when Im woodworking .
I don’t need anything more than this as it will only be used occasionally.
idiculously cheap for the occasional user. Seems reasonably accurate for amateur use. Good buy for the occasional amateur user.
They are very reasonable price and good for my model work They work very well and do the job that I need them for.
sinch i bought this i have not stopped using it. the read out is clear and can be changed from mm to inchs quite quickly. the slight let down is if you levae the button battery in it for any length of time it goes flat and you have to replace it . i take it out after every use . very good item and usefull
It’s great for around the home, but I have noticed occasionally that repeating measurements can come out fractionally different.
It’s not a problem for me but if this was in professional use it could cause problems.
For the money it’s absolutely brilliant.
Plastic but still appeared to work just fine for my 3D projects.
It’s accurate and easy to use, but it is plastic, and has to be treated with kid gloves. I can’t fault it, as it does what it should, but I wish I had spent more money on a metal version.
Calliper feels flimsy, but does the job ok, just not the best quality, the plastic strip at back feels like a tie wrap, very poor quality in that area, but as i said, they do the job
However, I should have been a bit more careful reading that resolution, because I bought them for calibrating 3d printer flow rates etc, and I need 0.01mm accuracy. That’s not the fault of the caliper, it’s the fault of the buyer 😉
So, if you are thinking of buying for calibrating small models, I’m writing this review so the search engine will warn you that they’re not terribly suitable for it.
I got these to help with some maker projects I was working on and I have been pleasantly surprised by the tool. The digital display is large and clear, making it easy to read, and the tool is designed to measure external and internal dimensions of objects. The one thing I was left thinking about after I got this into my hands is why I didn’t get one earlier!
It does what it’s meant to do for a very low price, it’s made of plastice, seems a little flimsy compared to the metal ones you’ll find it science labs, but it’s a great caliper to whip out at home and use for all measuring needs.
Only measures up to 154mm. Accuracy limit is +/- 0.05mm, so you can measure (in mm) 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 150.1, etc.
I bought this mainly for use in traditional archery to measure my thumb for thumb ring sizes, and it works perfectly for this, and to measure arrow passes.
What you see is what you get, it not the best product on the market, but it’s accurate enough for what i needed, which was to measure the internal hole diameter on a glass shower screen, to purchase the right sized shower door rollers 😉
Beware the staple in the top right-hand side of the packet the caliper was packed in! The rear of the staple snagged my finger – ouch! My Swiss Army pliers removed it.
The digital caliper is very good value for money. It can be relied on. As for the Preciva I bought last May, Amazon’s return window was 21st June, giving me no time since its zero button malfunctioned yesterday, so I am returning the caliper to Preciva who promised me a full refund including shipping costs. Good of them.
Back to this Digital Caliper, I have no hesitation recommending it.
Doesn’t seem to wonder out of calibration and you can easily zero it if it does. Auto turn off so I don’t need to worry about battery. Only complaint is the plastic jaws/points. Sharp metal ones would’ve been better but I understand this is a budget tool.
I’ve been considering getting some of these for some time now to measure glass thickness as it’s hard to measure with a tape. They’re really easy to use and come with x2 batteries (requiring one for use).
Same price as those being sold at Lidl and Aldi in the past.
Can’t see why you would need to spend more on a more expensive pair, especially when the reviews are often not as good.
I’m too lazy to review 99% of the things I buy on Amazon, but this caliper is so regularly and consistently useful I needed to put the word out.
It’s clearly made to be as cheap as possible, but it doesn’t cut any corners that affect the functionality. It’s foolproof and I’ve confirmed the accuracy on a few items with known dimensions.
Big Clive (highly reputable YouTube creator) did a video on an (almost) identical item and came to the same conclusion. It worked perfectly even after disassembling/reassembling. The electronics used to read the measurement seem very simple yet very accurate and robust.
Better options definitely exist, but I imagine you’d need to spend substantially more to improve upon this. As a casual tinkerer they’re perfect and I imagine hobbyists, “prosumers” or even some pros won’t be limited by them.
Mine came from the seller “EverCode”. Normally you have to be careful of rouge sellers on Amazon selling cheap, inferior products rather than the listed item, but it’s hard to imagine a cheaper version even being worth making.
This are a good choice if you don’t need high dimensional accuracy. I bought these for home use and they work well enough, albeit not having great accuracy and only showing to 0.1 of a millimetre. If you don’t need any more than that then these will work for you, if you need to be exact then splash the cash and go for a classic Digital Mitutoyo, or alternatively a Vernier and you will be set for life.
