I am really impressed with the quality of each piece of the game. They are sturdy and stable, which is perfect for my young kids playing. I will be purchasing this again for BD presents
We bought this as a surprise for our nearly 4 year old to play with him at the caravan when we went away. We already had the “home sprint” toy story one from the same brand so we knew they were good quality. However this one is slightly more complex but still easy for him to follow. The addition of the counters elevated it somewhat but I think that’s what got us parents more involved. It has a certain competitive element where you can send other characters back home. I didn’t have the heart to do it to our son, it’s a shame his dad didn’t feel the same! We got so engrossed that we had another 4 rounds when our son had gone to bed
I brought this for my granddaughter for Christmas. She loves the little princesses. She also loves the game as she loves to knock people back. Not hard to play for a 6 year old
We absolutely love this game. I got it to play with our 6 year old daughter & we all thoroughly enjoy playing it. Good quality board. The figures are great, nice and sturdy. Definitely recommend this.
Mickey Mouse and Friends Race Home is a simple ludo game with a few extra additions. The main selling point of this game is the lovely figures of Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Pluto which are used as the playing pieces (Disney Princess and Toy Story 4 versions also available). There is also the addition of ‘speedy coins,’ which adds more interest. It is a fun game that all the family (4+) can play and is easy and quick to pick up.
My kids are in love with this game. As we do board game nights every Saturday, I try to get new games very frequently and not always they are a hit. Never played this before, but it was very easy to understand, set up and play and everyone loved it. My 6 year old daughter particularly loved Disney figures. It is beautifully made as you can see from the way it has been made. Not the cheapest on the market, but in comparison with the quality – you can not complain and I would highly recommend. Would also make beautiful gift, as it is packed really nicely, with Disney characters visible.
I love this i must admit I’ve been playing this with the kids and they’ve been enjoying this too
Really affordable great for family get togethers and when the kids have friends around really great way to get everyone together
Comes with
1 x Game board
16 x Miniature figurine playing pieces
1 x Dice
12 x Coins
1 x Instructions
Really easy to play its bright and colourful, you can tell its good quality and board won’t fall apart anytime soon deffiently worth the purchase
This is a lovely, themed, board game which suits younger audiences perfectly, from the simple rules to the recognisable characters you can’t really go wrong here.
Ludo is a classic game, and while simple is a great introduction to board games as a whole and teaches some important mechanics that other games rely on. This game adds a few new ideas to the traditional rules, and these work well to make the game more fun and complex.
This version uses the Disney princesses as the pieces, and the models are bright and colourful, distinct and full of personality. They are not hugely detailed, but this is a trade off to the sturdiness and build quality that they’ve been manufactured with.
The board is well made too, and the rules are clearly laid out and presented, and use language accessible to most age groups, although a little supervision might be needed for younger players.
All in all a really nice choice if you want a Disney Princess themed gift or a board game for a younger audience.
Ludo may be a classic board game but I also feel it’s underrated. That’s probably because most Ludo sets are quite dull and not massively appealing to children. This Disney set goes a long way to rectifying that. My young Niece and Nephew loved this set and the game held their attention. A lovely set that you will keep and hopefully come back to again and again.
There is nothing quite like a fun board game suitable for young and old to play together for some good old fashioned quality time. This quality crafted Disney Pixar Toy Story 4 Race Home Board Game for Kids has the popular Character figurines sixteen total comprising of four times Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Po Beep, and Forky. The game is basically a Disney Pixar take on the LUDO game of yesteryear. Two to Four Player Fun.
The game arrives in a nicely presented box. We played the game with our 5 year old grand-daughter. Its a good game to play and there is some tactic involved in getting your team home. Provided you know the rules there advantages and disadvantages and knowing when best to use tactical advantage. Its a straight-forward game once you know the rules, the game can last a little while but is enjoyable enough and not boring. We had good fun with the nicely designed, quality build and overall nice detail quality Ludo game.
This is basically Ludo for children, the concept is very simple for children and the characters make it super relatable, the little figures are a great addition with different facial expressions. The set comes with 4 of each character, dice and speedy coins to help aid the game. You can play with as little as 2 players and up to 4 and can last about half an hour to an hour depending how intensely you play but overall great fun for children to be engaged with.
This is a classic game which is more expensive just because it has Disney Princesses.
Don’t get me wrong my daughter loves Disney Princesses and subsequently loves playing this ludo inspired game but it feels like they are just cashing in on her love of Princesses.
That is my only reason for knocking off one star. Otherwise this is well built and easy for kids to play.
Whether you remember it as Ludo, Sorry! or even Frustration, the chances are you’ll have played a vey similar family game to this before. It’s such a lovely simple concept though, that my children (four and seven) grasped it straight away. The presentation here with the classic Disney character pawns and a lovely colourful board is first rate. Even thought seems to have been put into the instructions which are lively and colourful and encourage players to do their best Disney impressions to decide who goes first (pro tip: if you want to avoid a tantrum, the youngest player always goes first). The aim of the game is simply to get all your characters from the starting point back to your base first. To help you on your way, each player also gets two power-up like speedy coins that enable you to do things like double your dice roll or move two characters in a single turn. If you land on another player you get to send them back to their base and they have to start their way around the board again, which adds a bit of mischief to the proceedings! This is a nice take on the classic game of Ludo, and I really like the fact that the’ve used the classic Disney characters and the classic art style.
A very nice looking and well made board game. The figurines look absolute amazing with impressive detail. It’s a tad bit over priced for what it is though as similar board games go for half the price. If you don’t mind the Disney brand price tag then this is a great simple board game for younger kids.
The Disney Toy Story 4 Race Home Board Game is basically Ludo with characters from the movie of the game name taking the place of the traditional counters. Players can choose from a choice of Woody,Buzz Lightyear, Bo Peep or Forky, represented by 3D figures, and the game is suitable for children of 4 years old and upwards. One great thing about Ludo is that it’s very easy to learn so your youngsters will pick up the basics very quickly with a bit of patient instruction
Manufacturers, Cartamundi, have done a great job giving the old game a Toy Story themed up-date. The playing pieces are well-made and instantly recognisable and the board is colourful and durable. Even the box is bright and cheerful, the whole thing is reassuring sturdy and well-designed.
The only thing I’m not keen on are the “Speedy Coins” which are an unwelcome complication when trying to teach younger children the game so I’ve not used them. Maybe for older children they might add something but Ludo has been played for a very long time now without such things and I’m very much of the “if it’s ain’t broke, don’t fix it” school of thought.
To sum up,Race Home is a very well-made game that truly is for all ages. It’s bright, easy to learn ,fun to play and with it’s iconic Toy Story characters it’s not going to go out of fashion any time soon. At just under 23 there’s a lot of fun over a lot of years in this game.
Many of us as kids (in the days before electronic games) would have enjoyed playing traditional board games such as Ludo. Now that Disney have decided to put their own branding on a reworking of them, such as this Ludo game, maybe it will encourage a new generation to play.
The concept is quite simple and here it is well executed with decent quality figurines etc. When you pick it up there’s a sensible weight to it which suggests it shouldn’t break within minutes. Of course Ludo doesn’t tend to last too long so youngsters’ attention is held.
Whether the novelty will wear off who knows, but as a family game for Christmas day this would be a good one to find under the tree.
The product description seems to want to bury the fact that this is a Ludo game, although the product box makes no secret of it. It’s “fast Ludo”, in that there are fewer squares around the board so fewer rolls are required to get to the end- but in every other respect, it *can* work just like normal Ludo, that we’ve already played plenty as a family- so it’s very familiar and no extra twists or turns needed to be learned.
Then you’ve got the option- not obligatory- of adding in the speedy coins, which add a small extra level of tactics in to do with when to play them, and accepting that since you have a limited number, you shouldn’t just play them straight away. This wasn’t as well-received in our games as I expected, it caused a little bit of frowning, but personally I thought it was a nice twist- as well as reducing gameplay time, if you really do want to get the game done before dinnertime.
The Toy Story 4 pieces are quite fun, in their way. They look more like mini-me characters than realistic representations of the film characters, which ups the cuteness factor. Inexplicably my kids were adamant that they didn’t want to play as Forky, I have no idea why but what I thought was the funniest character, they seemed to have some inherent distrust of. Maybe they know something I don’t
It’s Disney branded but it’s manufactured by Irish company Cartamundi, who we’ve encountered before and who seem to be a really good high-quality brand. You don’t get much by way of different items in the box, but what there is is well presented, and durable enough to withstand the petulant sore loser responses of younger kids who can’t accept that it’s mostly just a game of luck!
Ludo is a family favourite here and this very Christmas-friendly board game gives a nice fresh spin on the look of it. Personally we’ve never found that normal games of Ludo last too long anyway, but the option of ‘speed Ludo’ (with or without the speedy coins) does make it even more playable in a way.
This board game is for children from 4 upwards. The contents include:
1 x Game board
16 x Miniature Figurines Woody, Buzz, Bo Peep & Forky
1 x Dice
12 x Coins
1 x Instructions
As it’s not Ludo as we know it reading the instructions before starting the game would be useful. Having said that it’s not a complicated game, just a tad more interesting than your big standard Ludo.
I like this game as it is an exciting modern twist on the boring old ludo I grew up with. Instead of 1 dimension counters you have 4 mini Disney character 4 for each player.
Great for both boys and girls. The purpose of the game is to be the first to get all of your team home first.
Great board game for the year round, but given it’s Christmas round the corner these should fly off the shelves. .
The game has as mentioned above 16 miniature figurines, 4 different characters.
You would really need a minimum of 2 players , but up to 4 can play.
A bit pricey for a board game, but a well made engaging game.
Let’s take a step back from the screens and get back to some good old fashioned board games. Great fun with this Disney Twist on the old Ludo game with 16 Mickey and Friends characters. This one was a winner with my younger nieces and nephews and would make an ideal Christmas prese
This is the game Ludo, but with a new twist. Rather than just playing with plain counters, you play as either Woody, buzz, bo-pep or forky. It’s then a race to the Finnish to win.
I love the detailed characters, they’re so detailed and cute. The game is for 2-4 players. This will definitely be one for Christmas
The Disney magic has gone on Ludo and created a variant to be played with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Pluto figures. A bit pricey (but that is the Disney premium) as a simple Ludo is available under a fiver.
But the figures are nice. The game is easy to play. I suggest trying without the speed coins at first as tactical use is a bit of a struggle for the kids to understand. We’ve been enjoying and each game does not take long, so we can have breaks and swap characters (if the kids let us).
Does not need batteries!!! +++ 😀
What a brilliant game. It’s basically ludo, but the whole kit and kaboodle takes the ancient board game to a whole new level.
It’s beautifully boxed in quality card and the board, characters etc have a real premium feel. I’d expect this to last literally a couple of generations, even if used regularly. There’s nothing cheap about it and a classic board game should be passed from one generation to another. I absolutely love the Disney characters; the 21st century upgrade to replace coloured dice. They’re really tactile and cute. Full instructions ensure even newcomers will understand gameplay and there are options from the old style game.
The board is colourful and again, really good quality. Better still, I’ve used this to introduce a couple of youngsters to something new; they were totally engaged, so much so, they chose to carry on playing long after I withdrew and I could hear their squeals of delight and excitement.
I’m all for anything which doesn’t involve high tech, computers, tablets etc and this ticked every box.
This game is just like Frustration. My four year old grandson and six year old granddaughter already play Frustration so they understood this straight away.
Nice and easy to play with very young children. The grandchildren loved the Toy Story pieces to play with and wanted to swap pieces after the first game.
Great fun all round.
Highly recommended
This game is just like Ludo but with a little twist.
At 4 points on the board, there is a star and when you land on it you get to chose a small token, these tokens have several different pictures on them, eg – move twice, move a player back & safety card to stop someone landing on you etc.
You need to throw a 6 to get your princess’s out and into the game.
Apart from having trouble getting the princess’s out of the packaging, it’s a good straight forward game, easy to follow.
This is a beautiful board game of excellent quality, the little Princess pieces are very sweet and surprisingly detailed for their size! The board is a nice sturdy cardboard and should resist any rough play and all pieces come in a nice box which houses everything neatly and conveniently.
The game is a revamped version of the traditional Ludo that I used to play as a child, except the pieces back then were plain, different coloured people and with this you get to pick your favourite Princess which is great fun and immediately appealing for Disney Princess fans. Even my son was happy to join in, so it is definitely not limited to girls. This version of Ludo has introduced the Speedy Coins counters which can help you to win if you use them appropriately and tactically, the little ones don’t necessarily understand this element but I tend to help and suggest when my younger ones should use them until they learn the concept!
All in all a very fun game and one we play regularly. Entertaining for all the family and nice to have a modern remake on a classic board game!
Cartamundi Princess Race Home Board Game
Our little girl absolutely adores Disney Princess, she has literally tubs full of various Disney characters, Princess is her favourite. She was highly delighted with this when she spotted it. She is a little young for this at the moment, but what attracted her were the plastic miniature figures of four different Princesses within the box.
I used to love playing Ludo when I was a child, in fact I believe it was one of my favourite board games. This ‘Princess Race Home Board Game’ is very similar to that, with a few tweaks to make it Disney.
The box is well presented, it’s well packaged and also quite heavy. You can feel by the weight alone that this is a quality game. The game board is a good size, it’s also quite thick so it sits nicely on the table top without sliding around.
The Princess figures are made from plastic, they are not highly detailed but they are good enough as after all they are only meant as playing pieces. There are four different Princess types, each player having four of each type (16 in total). There are 12 speed coins which give bonuses to help you move around the board faster.
This is a good quality game that will last well if looked after. Very similar indeed to ludo and to be honest, just as much fun. I’m sure many children will love this game – Highly Recommended!

A well made, good looking Disney equivalent of the classic game Ludo. The princess figurines are a fun addition which enticed our 5 year old to play immediately but the normal Ludo rules meant the whole family enjoyed it (including the teenage boy).
The introduction of speedy coins which can be played every other turn (each player having only two for the whole game) gave the game a tactical edge. As winning wasn’t just about getting all four of your team home but knowing how to use the coins to increase the speed of your game or sabotage the strategy of another player.
We were able to play two games in an hour so it doesn’t drag on either; so the younger player didn’t get bored. The only things she did struggle with were the speedy coins, knowing what they mean and when to play them – the game recommends 4+ but it is a difficult element – thus one of us assisted her in playing them otherwise she would have been at a disadvantage. Therefore, if the plan is to buy this just for children to play, the youngest may need some adult assistance although you could very easily play it without the speedy coins.
Overall, good fun and it is sure to become a Sunday afternoon favourite of ours to play!
