Cannot recommend this drone enough.
Camera is amazing, very clear pictures! Very easy to use & we’re beginners, the options on speed & all the settings are amazing. We use this all the time, very good value for money!
Very sorry I sent things back when I got the drone I never had avoidance system on it it’s my fault thought I was going to keep it saw another on azamon with it on wil be more carefully in future Dennis
I have been using many types of drones, but this one far exceeded my expectations. Very stable in the air even when the wind was blowing quite hard from the sea. Excellent gimbal allows your videos to have a stable and clear image even in 1080 p at 60fps. But there is an option for 2.7k at 30fps as well. No complaints. Don’t need a pricer one. Does the job well.
Just doesn’t have precise landing when use RTH button (about 1-10 m) . But it’s not a problem. My advice: fly it back in RTH until you can see it , cancel RTH and land it wherever you you like. You are able to activate RTH if drone is no less than 20 m away from you.
A great drone for learning to fly with. This drone is stable and easy to fly in windy conditions too. The camera produces good quality picture & video images. I get a fly time of 30 minutes in normal mode.
When the price for the Mini 2 SE was announced, I knew I could finally enter the world of drones. The only thing this drone is missing from my wish-list is obstacle avoidance, but the cost to upgrade to the Mini 3 is an absolute deal breaker. The little Mini 2 SE is in the ultra-light drone category, which means you can fly it with just a Civil Aviation Authority Operators Number, which takes no more than ten minutes to obtain and costs 10.33 per year. Being in the ultra-light category actually allows you to fly in more places than the larger drones. Another huge advantage is that this drone is quiet, very! quiet. If you need it for something like land surveying, I doubt anyone will even know it is above them. Like all other reviewers, the advertised flight time of 31 minutes is utter fantasy. You need to be landing after 20 minutes max. I purchased the basic drone and added another battery later. The best place I found for additional batteries is my local Argos (50), although the DJI official online store sells then for the same price. Although the Mini 2 SE does not have forward/backwards obstacle avoidance, it does have sensors in the belly, to allow automatic take-off and landing. This takes away all the stress of launching and landing the drone, you just position the drone over your intended landing area and press the ‘land’ button. When using the automatic take-off feature, the drone will lift off and hover at 1.5M above the launch area. I use a folding picnic table and landing pad and the drone never gets confused when landing. For anyone new to drones, the Mini 2 SE uses the ‘proper’ DJI OcuSync 2 transmission system, which means a rock solid video connection to the drone, and was one of the most important features on my wish-list. There are too many features to list, a few hours on YouTube will do a better job of showing you what this little drone can do, but some of the headlines are that it has level 5 wind resistance, which means that it can cope with wind speeds up to 24 mph, which is incredibly impressive for such a tiny aircraft. It also has built in panoramas and ‘quick-shots’. One of the panorama shots is a 360 sphere panorama, which is incredible if you want to capture an entire holiday destination panorama that you can spin and interact with when you get home. The Mini 2 SE films in 2.7K (2704 x 1520), rather than 4K, which I actual prefer, as 4K fills the memory card up stupidly fast for (in my opinion) no significant benefit. The camera stills are 12MP and look amazing. The DJI Fly app takes care of all the firmware updates for the drone and controller. The only advice I would give is to connect the app to the drone at home before your first flight, as there is a registration and drone activation process to complete before the app will allow take-off. There is a short tutorial to complete on your first flight, just the basic controls. Once you complete that, you are free to ‘play’. Any nerves about flying a drone evaporated on the first flight, it is so! easy to use, and if you lose sight of the drone (which is very easy), you have the safety net of the Return To Home feature. Just make sure to watch a few YouTube videos about how to set the return-to-home flight height. It is also worth learning the app menus from the comfort of your armchair, such as how to calibrate the compass and understand the various information on the app screen. The other recommendation is to add a couple of drone assistance apps, such as Drone Buddy, as these will help you with weather forecasts and the various no fly zones around the UK and abroad. Hopefully the Mini 3 will fall in price in the next few years, at which point I will upgrade. But for now, the Mini 2 SE is about as much fun as you can have with your pants on. Highly recommended.
I’d been thinking of getting a drone for a long time to do some landscape filming, however, after an early “bad buy”, I hesitated. Then this came along.
It’s compact, but solid and pretty sturdy.
Best of all, it’s easy to fly even for someone like me who is not that tech-savvy.
I was up in the air before I knew it, BUT it pays to take your time. Get to know the drone. Practice and – follow the rules. Drones are fun but should be used considerately and cautiously.
I bought the Fly-More set because I wanted better endurance – I don’t trust battery times. The 31-min max flight time should be treated as the absolute limit, I think, in all reality – 20 mins is a much safer limit, which, to be fair, is still very good. I just wanted the comfort and reassurance of more power at hand.
The imagery is pretty sharp and clear, but you need to learn how to get the best from your drone by practising – careful control should limit blurring, once again practice pays off, learn how to manoeuvre the drone smoothly, the controls are very responsive, so it pays to master a smooth operation to avoid jerky and/or fuzzy images.
This is a nice piece of kit, and I am very happy with the early results, but I make no apologies for saying again – “practice, patience and understanding”, this WILL pay off.
FLY SAFE!! FLY RESPONSIBLY!! HAVE FUN!!
Bought this to film for my youtube channel and it is absolutely brilliant.
Extremely high quality footage from an extremely high quality piece of kit. I can’t fault it.
Absolutely recommend
Bought this to learn how to fly a drone in plenty of time for my daughters wedding later this year. Great little flyer, very decent bang for your buck. Maybe worth noting that the spare propellers, screwdriver and screws for the “fly more” option are hidden away in the case lid pocket and I wrongly thought they were missing.
The drone is very stable and easy to learn to fly, there are plenty of useful videos to help you on youtube dedicated to this model specifically. Takes great quality photos and video and the operating range is impressive.
Worth noting if you’re just starting out as a drone flyer, you will need an OPERATOR ID (your drone will need to be labelled with this) from the CAA to fly this drone as it is NOT classified as a toy even though it’s under 250g weight. If you’re younger than 18, you must ask your parent or guardian to register for an operator ID. It costs just 10.33 a year (at time of writing).
You do not need a Flyer ID from the CAA for it since it’s under 250g weight, but most people get both a flyer ID and operator ID at the same time, the flyer ID is an easy multiple choice exam which takes very little time but you will learn a lot of useful information about flying drones and the legal stuff. No charge for this and it lasts 5 years.
The range and wind resistance is impressing. And the video that comes to remote is superb quality i don’t even use ssd card just recording straight to my phone. I imagine video quality is even better if using ssd in the drone. Flight time is also impressing
Good quality toy for adults
