I recently purchased the DR.TEK Metal Detector Pinpointer, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. This handheld pin pointer is a true gem for any treasure hunter or metal detecting enthusiast.
First and foremost, the IP68 fully waterproof design is a game-changer. It opens up a whole new world of possibilities for exploration in various environments, from wetlands to riversides. No need to worry about rain or water damage — this pin pointer can handle it all.
What really sets this detector apart is its innovative interference cancellation function. It’s a game-changer, especially in areas with a lot of electromagnetic interference. This feature ensures accurate and precise detection, saving me time and frustration.
The higher sensitivity of the DR.TEK Pinpointer is outstanding. It consistently detects targets with impressive accuracy, whether it’s small gold nuggets, historical relics, or valuable coins. The LCD screen provides clear and easy-to-read information, making it a breeze to track your findings.
The three detection modes cater to various search preferences, giving you versatility in your treasure hunting adventures. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, this pin pointer adapts to your needs.
In summary, the DR.TEK Metal Detector Pinpointer has exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s a reliable and durable tool that has enhanced my metal detecting experiences. If you’re serious about finding gold, relics, coins, or any hidden treasures, I highly recommend giving this pin pointer a try. It’s an investment you won’t regret. Happy hunting!
Sturdy but lightweight. Very easy to use and seems to be very accurate. Fully waterproof and even has a built-in light. Great value for the price. I bought this as a add on to the Dr Otek MT-XR metal detector package and am very pleased with my purchase. Would definitely recommend.
I’m excited to share my experience with the DR.TEK Metal Detector Pinpointer, a tool that has genuinely transformed my treasure-hunting adventures. This handheld pin pointer has advanced features that have taken my metal-detecting game to a new level.
The Exclusive Interference Cancellation function is a standout. The One-Key Interference Cancelling Button is a saviour in avoiding false signals and saving time on unproductive searches. This feature alone has made a significant difference in the accuracy of my detections.
The LCD screen is a game-changer in terms of target detection. Displaying the signal strength of the target guides me precisely to my finds. No more wasted time digging up non-treasures — the easy-to-read screen ensures I’m always on the right track.
The precision of the DR.TEK Metal Detector Pinpointer is noteworthy. With a detection distance of 8 CM and a 360 omnidirectional detection probe, this pin pointer consistently delivers accurate results. The fact that it’s fully waterproof with an IP68 rating adds a new dimension to my treasure hunts, especially underwater.
The ability to choose from three operation modes — Vibration, Audio, and audio+ vibration — provides flexibility based on different environments. This customization makes a big difference in adjusting to various scenarios.
What’s also impressive is the practical design of the pinpointer. The scale design helps gauge the depth of a target, and the scraper is a handy tool for removing debris. The pinpointer covers essential functions without requiring additional accessories.
In conclusion, the DR.TEK Metal Detector Pinpointer is a game-changer for treasure hunters. It’s a must-have companion with features like interference cancellation, an intuitive LCD screen, precision, waterproof capability, and versatile operation modes. Whether you’re into coins, relics, gold, or enjoy the thrill of the hunt, this pinpointer is an essential tool that enhances your treasure-hunting experience. I can’t recommend it enough — it truly elevates the world of metal detection!
My wedding ring dropped off my finger. I could not find it. I went back to the field a few days later to where I knew it was roughly and this located it. Without this I would never have found it.
This detector worked as it was described and did the job.
The Dr Otek pin pointer is very good and for the price a steal, and really does let you know when your on target . I would definitely recommend this one for even a beginner, and with practice it’s great.
i bought this pin pointer as im new to metal detecting and i have the Dr Otek detector , so wanted to get everything matching . what can i say , i am not disappointed at all , its light to hold , the vibration is very noticeable , the volume is great , the little screen is an added bonus if anything it increases you excitement when you are locating your find . The LED light is a good idea to help you find your find in a deep hole when the light is fading as well . It takes a 9v Battery which is provided but the one provided wont last long so you better off buying another 9v to pop in , i have found when i am not using my pin pointer i can take the battery out , turn it around and pop the lid back on . saves me misplacing the battery as it always there with you . You cant go wrong with this pin pointer at all .
I’m new to metal detecting and have nothing to go by but I’ve found tiny pieces of scrap metal on beaches and ring pulls with this pointer. On farm pasture I’ve found small bullet shells , old 2 pence , iron rod, even smaller flat round possible coin and other random small junk.
Not sure about battery life comes with cheapo battery so I’d get a couple of durecell spares.
Other pointers are almost as much as my metal detector ( x terra pro ) which seems expensive so tried this one.
Remember to press the interference button and you will be fine.
The Dr Otek MT6 Pro is good value for money and can hold it’s own against a number of more expensive pointers. It’s easy to use and as well as a 9v battery comes with a few other useful extras such as a holster and lanyard.
The User Manual is OK but it could’ve been a little clearer and the English translation improved. For example: The pointer is referred to as a ‘motor’ in a couple of places. Also, a few sentences in the Interference Cancelling Button section didn’t make much sense. What does ‘The white triangle will turn green which means it is in a balanced state’ mean ?
Personally, I would have preferred it to be rechargeable via a mini USB rather than 9v battery and a protective replaceable tip or two would’ve been useful. Only time will tell but if it’s like most pointers I’m sure the tip will eventually wear away.
Anyway, this is a bit nitpicking when the low price is taken into account and it certainly does everythingit is expected to do.
UPDATE: After 2 months use the Dr Otek MT6 Pro is still proving to be good value for money and doing what it’s meant to do, however there are a few things I’d definitely like to see changed or improved.
1/ The Power button should be recessed or possibly changed to a sliding switch. As it currently sits proud from the body of the pinpointer it is far too easy to turn on by mistake. Every time I’ve been out detecting because the On/Off button has been knocked accidentally, either by the holster itself or possibly by a piece of clothing, I’ve found the the MT6 Pro has been turned on when it’s sat in the holster This leads to the battery being unnecessarily run down.
2/ There is no need for the LED light to come on automatically by default when the pinpointer is switched on. I’ve yet to come across a situation when any extra light is needed when detecting in a hole. Although the LED light can be manually switched off it is a complete pain having to do it, or even remember to do it, every time the pinpointer is used. This again leads to the life of the 9v battery being shortened and it would be far better if the LED could just be turned on only for that very, very rare occasion when a little extra light might be required.
3/ The holster has a large metal stud on the rear belt loop. This means that if you put the pinpointer back in the holster while digging a hole (rather than leaving it dangling from the lanyard) it’s constantly going off, either beeping, vibrating or both.
