This duo is good. Very good. Lightweight to handle and to use which I didn’t expect.
Love the bright green colour.
Perfect for what I need them for makes light work of the gardening jobs.
I’ve just used the spade and fork for the first time. First of all, I like the bright coloured handles. They were well wrapped without being over wrapped.
The size felt great and I found them easy to use.
These are fab and sturdy. I love the green handles, as I said means I can spot them in the garden easily. They do seem to be very strong although not done heavy digging ye
This was a gift for my son, who was delighted with the product which was as described. I had to contact the seller about an error I had made with the delivery address and they were very helpful and efficient in sorting it out.
I have just managed to snap my wooden handled fork so was looking for something that would be strong enough to cope with my garden and all the roots – so far so good, this set is holding up well 🙂
Liked this cos wanted steel stem as my old wooden ones rotted. Was pleased that arrived well packaged and they were not too large or heavy for my needs.Am not the most physical muscly person so wanted something lighter but still strong.
Spade fine, fork gets bent fairly often so have to keep bending it back into shape but it’s tolerated some fairly heavy work digging out a border over the last few weeks.
Got this set for using for light work really for mucking out duck house and pig arc. Great for that the fork does a good job of reaching for straw at back of both houses and lightweight enough for myself to use. For the price on offer works out about ten pounds each item which is about the same as cheap makes but at least this is a well known brand. Plus with them having bright coloured handles easier to find and not leave out when putting garden tools away.
Pleased with them both but four stars as came out of the packing when delivered if stronger packing used would be a five.
These Draper Carbon steel spade and fork was bought with the purpose of doing some pretty hefty landscaping in my back garden.
Delivered on time, in safe packaging, and very secure.
These are very light to hold and very robust.
The only down side is that the shovel does not have a lip at the top of the blade,in order to be able to place your foot to apply extra force when digging.
Other than that they both work great, and have no problems.
Strong and sturdy – does what it says on the tin and for a decent price. A good purchase – make sure you use gloves when using as the plastic handle can rub and cause a little discomfo
I love digging. I was digging in my overgrown backyard , in a nasty part of London called manor park, where I found a treasure trove of items. I dug for half an hour and found a an old VHS, two odd shoes, a CD of Indian music, some wedding photos, a fork and a headless naked barbie doll!
Thanks to these tools, I can finally play the piano again!
Seriously though, these tool are cool. They seem to be of good quality and work well. Great value.
Bought as a set along with the following and all for less than 45 the whole, I did not expected the quality to be so good for such a cheap price, I like the brand name Draper, this is why I ordered my gardening tool, they were all delivered well pack and very quickly and free deliver Via Amazon Prime, which is another reason I ordered so much, out of all the goods I received only the garden spade was slightly faulty, by this I mean it look slightly bent! rather than report this and send it back, I have just applied a little heat and put this right, other than that No Problem, so if you want some good quality tool like these, I would recommend these to anyone, I would Like to mention at this point I did go to B&Q and the price there, just for a garden fork would of cost me the sae as I paid for all these items.
Before I moved here I had a gardener and so thought I would have a clear out and got rid of so many gardening tools, etc and now
although I cannot do things myself anymore I have to get someone to do my garden for me and I have to supply the tools so I am having to start all over. I also needed a spade to clear the snow and so I thought I would go for this set, came to late for the snow but they look nice and strong so hopefully will last me a long time.
I bought these as a pair of disposable tools to leave on the allotment, which I wouldn’t be too worried about if they were stolen, and I’m very happy with the choice.
The handles are made of a thick plastic, but seem to be on par with a wooden handle in terms of durability – I’ve done some heavy digging and had no problems. The only downside is that there is a mould line along the inside of the grip which can be a little rough if you’re not wearing gloves (could sand it off, but it doesn’t particularly bother me). The day-glo green is easy to see if you put the tools down, even in quite long grass, although it’s functional more than beautiful.
The business end of the tools is made of a thick carbon steel – I suspect that after a few years of use, they’ll be more susceptible to rust than a stainless steel tool, and the bottom cm of one of the fork tines was missing, suggesting the metal might be somewhat more brittle than the highest quality tools available, but assuming you’re not going to be using the spade to chip ice off concrete or anything like that, I’d have no concerns about their durability (they certainly don’t bend or warp in use).
At the price, a real bargain!
