Drumond Park Articulate Your Life Family Board Game – The Fast Talking Description Board Game | Family Games For Adults And Kids Suitable From 12+ Years

Playing A Turn

The colour and name of the segment on which the team’s playing piece sits shows which category of words is to be described. For instance the Start position shows ‘Home Life’, so a team’s very first turn would involve the pale brown card entries only. The segment’s timer icon gives the time allowed for this turn.

A team’s turn begins when one of their Describer rolls the Bonus Dice.

A Describer immediately takes a card from the front of the pack and describes the relevant colour word or phrase to their own team. When one of the Guessers shouts out the correct answer, the Describers quickly take the next card and repeat the process using the same category.

When the timer runs out the turn is finished. The Describers count the number of cards that were correctly guessed and their team’s playing piece is moved forward by that many segments.

If this number of correctly guessed cards equals or exceeds the Bonus Target, the team adds two bonus segments to their move.

By far my favourite game to play. It definitely gets everyone pretty competitive and has a variety of different things to explain. I’d definitely say it’s more recommended for teenagers – adults because some of the cards have famous people/ places where I don’t even know

Love this game. Especially because it’s relatively easy to understand and gets all the family involved.

Lots of fun with this game, loads of question cards.
Found the timer ran out too quickly. 20secs. Could never answer the 8 question card in this short time, thinking of trying to add more salt to it for longer answering time.

Was a family party game at Christmas. Loved it and immediately purchased it.
However; as we went back into Lockdown; no opportunity to play as yet. I am on my own.

Really fun game played with friends over zoom in lockdown (they also had the same edition). Interesting topics, good twist from the original edition, would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPlayed this game lots over Christmas with various family and friends spanning several generations. The variety of categories make the game suitable for all ages – we found that the older players tended to do better on entertainment and sport whereas the younger people did better on social life – and the random timer helped level out the scoring. The cards cover a great variety of topics in all categories and it’s always good fun to play. Can definitely recommend for anyone looking for a family game.

he describing part of the game is very well done plus there are lots of cards so plenty for multiple games. The board game is a bit rubbish, the timers are probably a bit fast. I don’t think there is a chance of ever getting 8. The game descends into all of us just answering instead of teams but we still enjoy seeing how many we can guess. Says 12 plus so we give our youngest who is 7, 3 words from 6 cards (any colour) 2 of the easiest and 1 a bit tricky so that she can also enjoy the fun of articulating and having us other 3 guess. Glad I bought this game even if we don’t enjoy playing it right.

I like this game. It’s a fun game to play. Lots of laughing and a fair bit of friendly shouting and arguing. Funny playing with kids who use THE most bizarre descriptions for the easiest objects!

Pros: Easy to learn and fast paced game

Cons: Some categories (eg. working life) can be difficult for younger players

As we have the original game I was just looking to get more cards, but as these were just a few pounds than the updated version I decided to go for this updated version. The new game has a battery operated timer replacing the egg timer, and means you don’t know how long your ‘go’ will be as it randomly adds seconds. The thing I was most impressed with was the speed of delivery. I ordered it in the hinterland between Christmas and New Year but it turned up on New Year’s Eve so I could take it to our friends’ house that evening

To be honest, not quite as good as the original game. The timer is a bit more “modern” than a sandtimer which someone has to always watch, but other than that we rather missed the round in the original game where everyone takes part (and which can change the outcome of the game). Really in his one once you have a big lead you’re not going to be caught.

If you like original this is just as fun, has things like Sky+ so is a little more modern. Wish the timer was less annoying, the button doesn’t work well and its difficult to tell when its going and if you managed to trigger the ‘maxtime’ for the special rounds. The random time for each round would add a nice extra element to the game if the timer was less crap.

Might be more fun to have two egg timers, one for normal turns and one for maxtime.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a great game for 4 or more people, had a lot of fun over Christmas with it

Tried to play it with 3 people to start with. It can be adapted for this with only a little imagination, not quite as easily as the original game, which we have played so often that we have run through all questions and answers.

There is a real need to supply more packs of different question cards with these games, please.

Another benefit, apart from the huge fun is that depending on how many times you choose to go round the board it can take a shorter time–30mins ish— or longer if you wish

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is a simple but fun game which we played with adults and teens. It is intended to 4 players plus. The game is basically about communication-each counter represents a team of players and the team takes turns to describe a word on a card, mvoing the number of spaces on a die (which starts at numeral 3) around a board. The colours on the card represent a different subject. The words to describe can be quite difficult-not sure if younger children would get them (it is intended for age 12 years plus). We had great fun playing this with six of us (3 teams of 2) , the laughs coming when one attempted to describe Mardi gras as a Jewish festival and another seeming to use her leg in all descriptions !
