Very good value buy as a beginner’s machine to gain experience ,
Printer is very easy to set up with clear instructions , I was ready for first print in around 45 minutes which included googling some starter files .Printed a simple cube 2cm square which took 25 minutes to print.
Ensure your desk or worktop is level to start with as this makes initial setup a breeze .
my eldest has been after a 3d printer for a while ,and i didnt want to be jizzing out the cost of full scale one this piqued my interest and so i got it.
its is easy to set up ,takes a while to print ,and i have no idea if this is normal or not,but since its essentially manufacturing something then its understandable,so far my son has made a wall mount for his vr and one for his controller basic and simple items he found the plns for freely online if he keeps using it then im sure we can go upto a moe complex machine, but this seems an ideal ,simple way to dip your toe into the 3d printing world
Surprisingly very good despite it’s size. It was easy to set up and the 3D prints that it has been producing are all good quality. I have managed to make an entire chess set from it using black and white matt effect PLA.
It heats fast and also prints fast. The nozzle supports heating of up to 180 degrees which is enough to make the PLA that I use actually usable! A great little printer that I would recommend for a beginner or an enthusiat that is looking to get into 3D printing but on a budget, or simply somebody lacking the room needed for a Creality and the like.
Ok, this review is written by me and I have NEVER used a 3D printer before! I’ve read reviews and seen codes and things I had never even heard of before BUT I have now produced 2 3D prints which in my opinion are of a really good quality! I used the downloadable ones and am now looking to venture into downloading other files to use so that is the next stage of the learning curve.
I don’t THINK this is a professional machine or even that close to it but it is certainly good enough for a beginner and for people who also wish to look at progressing onto bigger and more expensive machines.
Easy to set up easy to get going and print. Just make sure you pay attention to the instructions. Then simply download some STL files convert and print. My very first print came out clean and amazing detail. This little 3D can do some amazing work. Great for beginners
To be clear this is great for beginners *if* you only use prints from their company (which are free). Drag and drop, and it’ll print whichever is most recent in the SD card. The prints from the company are surprisingly good detail, but I have yet to figure out how to set it for prints from other companies/people, as I haven’t found a program for it (it does have a printer cable), so I’ve had to use a stitching program from another company. if a print goes wrong, it will simply dump a load of PLA in the front right corner. save yourself a little money and stop it the moment you see it do this.
Would I recommend this for beginners like me? no. Would I recommend it for people on a budget? Yes, if they can’t find a different one under 130.
Bought specifically to print minis, does the job just fine, not as much detail as an acrilic printer but does the job. One thing I did have a problem with at first was getting the prints to stick to the bed properly so it didn’t get dragged around as it was printing but that was easily solved by just putting some pritt stick on the bed before the print.
Awesome printer!
I bought this printer as a gift for my 12 year old son and I’m very interested in this thing, I know my son can’t use slice software yet, so if you’re going to buy it for your kid, you Gotta learn how to use it.
But this X1 exceeded my expectations, it was really easy to install and operate. Cura works perfectly on my MAC, but there is no way to print directly, I need to put the Gcode file into the TF card (I heard that Windows can print directly, but I didn’t try it), press the print button to start printing .
My son has learned to download Gcode files of various models on the website and print all kinds of fun little things himself, and he loves this mini printer.
Compared to other large printers, the price of around 100 pounds is definitely worth it!
If you are a beginner with 3D printers, or you are buying it for your kids, I highly recommend buying it!
