I have found that the various ELEGOO products I have bought are well made and reliable, especially when compared to cheaper alternatives. I have only used this particular Mega R3 briefly at present, but it appears to work perfectly. All the pin names are printed on the side of the pin headers as well as on the board, which helps with ensuring correct identification. Also included is a 50cm USB cable.

If you want to run big sketches, or need space for big libraries, this is the one. Lots of I/O too.
With 8 times the code space of a UNO, this is great value. I initially bought it to run the parallel TFT display that takes almost all of the I/O of the UNO, because I needed several sensors- but I soon exceeded the code space of a UNO (the libraries are large…) so glad I had this.

A great piece of arduino kit, with plenty of inputs and outputs, and plenty of memory. Probably not ideal for the first timer.

I returned mine as it had a fault and got an immediate refund.
The Genuine Arduino Mega seems fine so far.

Owning a number of these for project work I bought one for my son to aid with his programming college course. Runs on the same Arduino IDE as other models, but with more memory available for code, higher processing speed & a huge array of pins for controlling a lot more equipment without the need for additional breakout boards!

I recently blew up my trusty Elegoo Uno, my best-loved “Arduino”. Bought this to help with the grieving process.
The Elegoo Uno was the first microcontroller in my vast collection that NEVER gave me any trouble. This is the second.

Works as per a MEGGA250 but some supplied had the reset button in the middle, so that a large display shield prevents using the button.
Works with the ST7735 and UNO type 3.5 display shields, takes a bit of fiddling to work out the colour maps.

It’s a arduino mega that works well and meets It’s purpose aswell as the pins being nicely labelled and overall good quality. though amazon’s postage fee is a joke, would recommend getting this off ebay if you want more value for money unless you got prime.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a really good quality arduino mega that meets It's purpose.

I’m fairly new to Arduino and up until recently only used the Uno board. A project I’m working on needed more
Analog inputs so I ordered a Mega Board from Elegoo. The Board works just fine and I can move on with my
project and opens a whole new Arduino World for me. Its not that bigger is better. Thats not the case. It just
gives me more options. Ordered some Nano boards tonight to prove that point. Five Stars!

Elegoo MEGA 2560 R3 is a very well built board, very well finished. It’s fully compatible with the Arduino Mega 2560 and it comes well packaged. Very happy with my purchase. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well constructed board - very good value for money

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is my second MEGA and I just see it as such a staple for a beginner or electronics hobbyist. They’re great for prototyping, which is how I use this personally. It’s also a great way to get kids involved in programming and electronics. The Arduino interface is simple to download and really easy to use. There are so many examples and has a thriving community.

    What I love:
Just how many GPIOs there are! You can have so much going on at once using just one board.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAlthough this is a clone board, I dare say this is better than the original. Everything works perfectly, I’ve successfully used Digital Input / Digital Output / Analog In / Analog PWM out / SPI / I2C all on this board and had no issues.

I used it to build a fully working 32 button 6 axis HID Joystick with an I2C display with the NicoHood Hoodloader2 firmware + NicoHood HID library 🙂

Only (minor) gripe is the supplied USB cable is a little too short and I had to use another. Regardless of this, I will be buying another of these again for my next project!

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as a genuine Arduino Mega!

Works just like an Arduino Mega board – great for starting out if you just want to see whether getting into programming is for you or not, but for projects that will be running continuously for a long time I feel more reassured using an actual Arduino. But saying that, despite all my usage I’ve not had a single problem so I might just be paranoid.

Good price and comes in black.

So happy with 1uality and price I ordered another!

Comes with short usb cable, which is suitable for programming but not if needing constant usb connection.

I’d been using the Uno variants for years now and this was the first time using a Mega and it’s perfect for my robotics project. Lots of analog and digital pins (Although the photo shows an LCD panel taking up most of them)
Happy with my purchase and will most likely buy more

5.0 out of 5 stars A useful board with lots of pins

Overall a decent board based on the price paid, I would note that some of the soldering is a bit funky and the board has a fair bow in it however as the review is titled to get what you pay for

Despite these things the board all functions as it should!

    Would recommend

Most Arduino clones I’ve used are hard to install on my Windows PC because the IDE finds it hard to detect that they’re connected. I’ve had no such problem with this one! It functions exactly like a standard Arduino board to the IDE and the USB driver had no issues.

Excellent for more complex projects. Has huge number of Digital and Analog pins compared to the Arduino UNO. Also has 8 times the RAM for programming. The only thing I found was that the lettering on the edge connectors does wear of with continual handling, not really a problem as they are also printed on the PCB as well. You can also easily get a colour pinout diagram online as well.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat little controller board for learning ‘C’. Although I have been using micro controller boards for years using C, this was the first time I’d used an Arduino Mega. I was impressed how easy it was and how we’ll featured the card was (4 serial ports and 53 digital I/O pins, plus analogs and interrupts. It’s only 16MHz, so no ball of fire, but that’s twice as fast as the original PC!
In the real world, it’s fast enough to do most projects.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe ELEGOO MEGA 2560 R3 is an excellent board that, according to my tests, it works as 1 to 1 replacement for the more expensive Arduino Mega2560.

I tried the board with the Arduino IDE using the USB on board connection, the ICSP connection and the a FTDI USB to Serial cable. It performed well in all three case.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGood value for the money. Only problem is that the writing on mine seems to be scratched off.

Update: literally all I have to to is wipe my finger over the writing and it will come off. Not a big deal but makes things inconvenient because I’m not sure which pins have PWM now

4.0 out of 5 stars Good produc

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat product at great price coupled with a great delivery. I have not found any problems with this product. It loaded first time out the box and all the supply voltages were fine even when driven from a 15 volt dc source. I strongly recommend it and will be purchasing other products from this supplier in the future.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersWhat to say that hasnt already been said. Well I bought one of the elegoo Unos earlier this year in an robotics project and it was a great board. So needing something to interface into an mjuch more complex robot it made sense to go for one of the mega boards. This one doesnt disappoint. It works out of the box, the construction is excellent with great support on the Elegoo website.

I am an electronics systems design engineer workikng on mutli million pound projects. So believe me when I say elegoo are now my arduino supplier of choice for all my DIY micro controller equipment. I now have numerous cards and expansions by them as well as a brilliant robot car to introduce my wife to programming and electronics. All by elegoo.

Very good quality and has proved reliable. Bought two of these. Only slight criticism is that the pin out text on the connector can rub off fairly easily. There is also the same text printed more durably on the motherboard so it is not a major problem. Other than that they’ve been great. Bargain price too.

    What a mega board!
First Arduino/Genuino Mega board and the build quality looks good, connectors are clearly identified and the free USB cable a bonus.
Had an initial issue, my PC would not download code to it, a reboot fixed it and it has worked fine since. Device shows up in Device manager as an Arduino board.

    Recommended.
DDS project will be up and running soon with this beauty.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis is a really nice device. From a visual point of view this board has it all. From the silk-screening to the quality of the connectors. It is well made and as expected it started right out of the box. I have bought other boards from Elegoo such as the Arduino Uno Rev3 (another really nice board).
I have also bought the Elegoo UNO R3 Project Super Starter Kit. Everything worked nothing was faulty and if you have an Epson ET-4500 and upwards you will have enough ink to print the 223 page manual. 🙂
I have bought boards from other sellers here on Amazon and you get what you pay for.
The Arduino is open source and you can make your own Arduino board, it isn’t difficult. All the plans and software are free on the net.
Most people I know tend to buy these boards already made. This purchase will be used in developing a home IOT wifi system.
I will definately be staying with Elegoo they are producing quality goods at a competitive price.
I highly recommend Elegoo without any reservations.
