Flows well, adheres well, prints well and for Silk is actually pretty strong. BUT although advertised as “metal” I would classify it more of a shiny grey than a silvery metal. Nothing against the filament as such just doesn’t come out as silvery as it is is shown in the pics. Still pleased with it but wanted to give others a heads up.
Great vibrance and shine to this, the prints really do look great. But you may have some issues with sputtering of the nozzle, or layer adhesion issues if you’re doing filament swaps with a different brand. This is likely due to the silk effect, but with slightly higher temps (215 tool, 65 bed) this works GREAT once you just leave it going after the first few layer smudges.
No issues at all with this filament. It’s very forgiving with wonky beds, and wide range of nozzle/bed temps. Finish is interesting, and generally, one side of the nozzle will be pink and the other opposite side will be blue, rather than a lenticular effect. Ironing a top surface will result in a pale pink. Would buy agai
This is good filament the reason why I’ve only gave it 4 stars is because the colour change isn’t fast enough. You need to print something quite big to see the full range of colours. You will see some colour change maybe from one to another but it needs to be much faster.
This is the fifth spool of eSUN filament I have purchased over recent months and have no complaints. It comes well packaged, the colour is accurate and it’s a breeze to work with. The only reason I could possibly think of for not buying this brand every time would be if they did not manufacture a specific colour for whatever project I might be working on at the time.
For anyone interested; I am using it on an Anycubic Mega X and the results are perfect every time.
This is a great brand, sticks well to bed and with basic settings you get great results. I used a 0.4 nozzle. I used this to fix my Tony stark heart as you can see the original snapped. This is a medium print on an ender 3 v2. A bit pitty. But I’m happy with the finish. It’s super shiny and almost reflects in the light. I love it. Will definitely buy this brand again.
I’ve been printing Christmas items for a while now and wanted to get some “gold” filament to make “name tags” and decided to give the eSUN Silk Metal PLA Filament a try!
I printed at 205C (the same temperature I print PLA+), it has a flat semi-shiny gold looking surface finish, but overall, I am impressed with the results from this filament.
I only bought a small sample as the 1kg spools are out of stock but will purchase a full one once they return to stock!
The eSun Silk Metal PLA Filament – while not containing any metal – definitely looks like metal. Maybe the bad reviews regarding the colour all come from a bad batch?
It prints really well on an Ender 3 V2 with original Hotend at standard temperatures (200c nozzle and 60c bed) – almost as good as eSUNs PLA+ line. I used it so far to print princess crowns for my daughters and several little items like lens hoods and a vase.
I would definitely recommend eSUN Filaments as they are good value for money and do the job.

Not the most economical, but one of my favourite PLA colours due to its metallic sheen look, which you can see in the picture I have shared. The transition from one colour to another is gradual. If you are looking for higher contrast between colours, you may want to pick a different brand.
I am using a Creality Ender 3 V2 and this specific PLA is pretty forgiving and easy to work with. In my case, above 80% success rate.
I am working with 210-215C nozzle temperature (at higher temperatures, the material will become too gooey and fail… keep that in mind) and 66C bed temperature. Printing speed between 50-60 mm/s. It has been performing well at different layer heights.
Prints so smoothly, follow they temps they tell you to run and it will be a dream. It looks so good. Only problem with my spoon is that it was spooled up poorly so it’s crossing over itself all the time. Would buy again!
I used this filament in a Flash-forge Finder. This filament worked very well. I would have rated it 5 stars but it stuck to the plate so much that when i removed the build it broke. I Would recommend.
