These are by far the most accurate and best scales I have ever had. They felt a bit lightweight at first, but I was soon so impressed with the accuracy and versatility .
In my opinion these scales couldn’t be beaten. Value for money, great on accuracy and the fact you can recharge on usb is a Fantastic! No more buying batteries. I use it most days. A kitchen must have!! 10/10
These are my second set of EtekCity scales due my cat being a jerk and pawing them off the counter! With over 150k reviews I doubt my review will make much difference but they’re a superb design and have never let me down
Being able to change measures from dry to liquid, zero it down to add ingredients just using one bowl, having an automatic cut off, plus easy to clean with a wipe, they’ve thought of it all. Very pleased to recommend this product.
P.S anyone like to buy a cat?
These are great scales. For the price I wasn’t expecting much but these have been very accurate and even withstood me dropping them with no damage at all. Battery came included, its easy to clean and extremely simple to use. I dont see any point in spending more money on scales when these work so well
Use them for all my weighing needs – small or large quantities. No way of checking he accuracy but there’s been no culinary disasters caused by weighing errors. Very easy to keep clean and they take up very little space when I slide them into a gap in my kitchen cupboard. Glad I got them
Cheap and cheerful, pretty good value for money. I’m not sure they’ll last forever, but they’re doing a decent job right now. They also weigh to a tenth of a gram, which a lot of the other cheaper scales don’t seem to do. This makes them pretty useful for smaller measurements. If you’re buying some scales and don’t intend to overthink it, they’re probably a pretty decent option.
I managed to damage our kitchen scales by using them for clay work (don’t ask!), so did the decent thing and replaced them.
These are really good so far.
They’re small which is ideal for our small kitchen, very straightforward to use, and seem accurate.
I’ll keep them away from my clay stuff, so hopefully they’ll last well.
Happy to recommend.
Got these as a replacement for my old digital scales which the battery kept dying without me using them, go figure. These are rechargeable through the included USB-C cable but you’ll need to get a USB type A plug for your wall socket of move the scales to near your PC to charge them. Haven’t needed to charge them yet as they aren’t used every day. The digital display is so clear and, due to the size of the scales, you can see it even with a large dish on top. They are wipe clean and clean easily due to the stainless top. Smaller than a dinner plate so should be able to be stored easily.
On their own, 5kg range, 0.1g accuracy, and the price point are nothing out of this world.
But put them together, and damn. I didn’t think it was possible!
Colour me thoroughly impressed.
Now we’ll see how long it lasts hehe
Edit:
As a later review (a few months) using it every day.
I’ve noticed that its accuracy is not quite 0.1g. It has a bit of difficulty distinguishing anything smaller than 0.2-0.4g (ie: anything from a pinch of salt to half a peanut)
On the upper side, my baking tray happens to be more than 5kg. And the scale will register it as 6400 (or whatever it is) grams, though I try not to use it for anything over 5.
Still very good, and I don’t think I should drop its rating to a 4 star even.
Just need other tools for the very small or high range.
Because this is still in my opinion a fantastic price, for a “most” purpose tool.
Just so lovely to have scales that actually work. There are so many cheap and not so cheap scales that have clearly never been used in a proper kitchen. These may not be as fancy looking as some, but they actually work.
So happy with this set of scales. Nice clear display that is angled so if you have a big plate on it you can still see the display. It also has a hold function so when you take the item off the weight remains displayed.
Another bonus is the battery is charged by USB C.
Very happy with the scales
Sometimes I think that I was born to press buttons. However, with some of the techno-junk out there the pressing of buttons, one thinks that one needs a PhD in Quantum Mechanical baloney. This is horrible if one wants to push buttons and to get things to do what they are supposed to.
With these scales, it was so easy to operate. I did not read the instructions. The first job that the scales had to do was weigh the amount of over-ripe pears that I had. I had different winemaking recipes for pear wine. Yet some of the recipes were in imperial measurements whilst other recipes were in metric measurements. So I needed to find out the value was for both. First I put the large plastic bowl on the switched on scales and pressed the on/off button to get the scales zeroed.
Yippee, the only thing that I had to do now was press a button and the scales told me the weights in either metric or imperial measurements. Easy! Nothing more complicated than that – asides from switching it on. Easy to clean too.
I recently started a diet nd wanted to get off on the right foot so I bought a blender but my old scales were older than dirt and the measurements were not quite right so I spent ages looking at reviews for scales and decided to try these. Have to say Best Buy I have made in a long time, the scales are light weight and so easy to use. I take a tub out of the cupboard every morning and I put it on the scales then I hit the tare button which resets it to zero so that my food is the only thing its weighing (this was a nightmare with my old scales) then I just fill the tub with my food until I hit the amount I need. Once done I take them the tub off hit the tare button again to reset to zero and done. These look very sleek which is handy ash have them sitting out to use every morning but they are also fantastically accurate as well. Best thing is I can change the unit measures if I want which I was never able to do with my old scales, these ones can even measure fluids as well so thats a huge plus. I would highly recommend these to al.
My salter scales packed in last week so I needed a new set. This one came up as a best seller and though I didn’t know the brand the reviews were all good . They were slightly more expensive than the salters but as these have only lasted a couple of years I took the risk . I can’t comment on the longevity but there’s a 2 year guarantee so this may cover it. It’s really smart looking , bigger than my others so I can see the weights with a big bowl on it and the numbers are big so I can read them if I forget my glasses. So far it’s easy to use and to clean – how can a serious cook avoid mess ? Definitely looks better and works fine so far and I use scales a lot . I was also impressed with the customer service email – that’s good marketing that shows they care about customers .
