Can I wash the scale?
Only clean the surface of the scale with a damp cloth. The device is not waterproof.
How accurate is the scale?
Items weighing less than 1 kg are measured in increments of 0.1 g, and weighing between 1 kg and 5 kg are measured in increments of 1 g, which the minimum measurement is 1 g.
My scale isn’t turning on.
Make sure the batteries are properly installed. Remove them for 45 seconds, then reset the scale.

This was such a great purchase, the bowl with it holds loads and is a good size. The digital measurements are a good size and easy to read. Would definitely recommend.
Needed to access the Web Site fot the user instructions (the ones in the box are bad)
Having mastered the tare function it’s all good to go!
ps. Don’t power it on whilst there’s stuff in the bowl and the poor thing gets confused.
I love how this comes with a great stainless steel bowl for adding flour etc into.
Very easy to use and to set to zero. The way it made means you can also set different mixing bowls onto the scales.
Very handy and accurate
These scales are way better than my old ones.
These are solid and well-made with an easy to read display which shows the temperature too.
They seem very responsive and accurate.
Based on this I would be interested in seeing their other products made by ETEKCITY, and they haven’t paid me to say that lol, I’m just really impressed to get this design and build quality for under 20 quid.
We’ve been using a trusty old Salter scale for years now, but it was dropped one too many times and needed replacing. This one is very easy to use, and the ‘bowl’ design makes it easy to read. My wife and I are tickled that it also tells us the ambient temperature as we measure! No problems so far. And the use of ‘normal’ batteries rather than button cells is an advantage for us too.
Terrific set of scales very accurate and nice addition to kitche
Love my scales it’s really helpful in weight loos and in calories control.
Definitely recommend to everyone.
Small and accommodating enough to give you the cooking and measuring space you need.
It feels well made , strong with a clean brushed ally finish. The bowl is great and easy to clean being metal.
Has a great array of features and measuring units to suit most peoples needs.
The design makes it very sturdy.
The sensitivity and readouts of it seemed trustworthy.
I think these are generically made for any buyer’s and sellers to slap their brand on. Either way its worth the price.
Id recommend one though im not a heavy user of these things.
It’s all great, exactly does what it said that it would do
Product was well made and easy to use, a nice size and astetetically pleasing, can’t fault i
Bought for my daughter in law and she loves i
I have been using this product since Feb. 2022 and found it easy to use, clean and store. Very impressed
Easy to use and read. Use them all the time.
Tried different weights placing and removing them and it kept on displaying the identical weight every time, very impressed.
Very easy to use and very accurate. power on and start working straight away. The bowl is big enough for every day use, very well made and very easy to clean.
Fit for purpose and a competitive price. Not sure about longevity, as only just purchased. Perfect for simple weighing of dry foods – exactly what I needed.
After our old digital scales finally giving up we started looking for a replacement. Didn’t want to pay silly money, as we’re not professional bakers, however we wanted something that would last. These fit the job perfectly. They do everything that you could possibly need & easy to use too. Very happy.
There are several things I like about these scales. The build quality seems good, a nice stainless steel bowl should last longer than a plastic one, and it is a good size. It does not use the small button batteries which my old scales used, and which needed to be replaced regularly. Eventually, the contact tab on the old scales
broke, rendering the scales useless. A bonus is a timer feature and temperature sensor, useful additions. The longevity of this product obviously cannot be predicted, hence 4 stars, but I am impressed so far.
The construction is excellent, and the features are well thought out. I particularly like the timer function, as this removes the need for a separate kitchen timer and declutters my limited bench space.
Unlike my previous scales, the size is good, and the height from the readout window to the weighing plate makes it easy to read the scale when using a wide dish (flatter scales are much harder to read when I use wider dishes and receptacles). The tare function is quick and accurate, and the readout is bright and easy to see. I also like the temperature function, which helps me with my baking.
I think these scales are excellent value for money, and are easily the best ones that I have used.
This scale was purchased after many hours searching for something that would replace some much loved electronic kitchen scales of 15 years old when they finally gave up the ghost. My previous scales didn’t have the bowl so they were easily stored away, however these scales are taking pride of place on my kitchen counter as not only are they are very stylish, but also because they have a built-in timer which for me is a fantastic feature as my oven does not have one (and my Santa Claus 2.99 timer finally made a break for it in January). The bowl is removable, and with the tare option, it is easy to substitute another bowl, saucepan or other container to use in its place. The switches make a comforting click sound and the timing and tare features are easy to operate. If you forget what to do, the instruction booklet is clearly written and easy to follow. The digital screen is clear showing the weight in either g or oz, the timer and the temperature of the bowl. There is nothing I don’t like about these scales although I am not entirely sure why I would need to know the temperature of my bowl. I noticed that another review said that the screen switched off after a couple of minutes if no active weighing taking place and this can be a bit of a pain especially if you have forgotten where you are up to when you wander off halfway through weighing to answer the phone. However a work around is to set the timer whilst you are weighing. The screen stays lit until the timer runs out so you can see where you are up to. (Of course, the auto switch off is useful to preserve the battery life – batteries which I may add, come with the machine and worked perfectly). The bowl appears dishwasher proof though I would be wary about washing the base with too much water. Even for someone whose kitchen looks like a food fight has taken place during the baking process, a wipe of the base with a damp cloth suffices.I have used these scales everyday since purchasing them and for the cost of these scales, I would say that they are good value for money and with a two year guarantee plus the timer feature, I have no hesitation in recommending them.
I was supplied with this product as a free sample for the purpose of testing, but this review reflects my own opinion.
The scales are a good size, fit easily in the cupboard, and work well with the supplied weighing bowl or a separate dish. They measure in imperial and metric, offer a timer function, and display the room temperature. I try to be as honest and unbiased as possible when writing reviews, regardless of whether I receive the item as a free sample, or pay for it myself. Whilst I think it is a shame that these kitchen scales don’t also measure liquids, I would still recommend them for baking and general kitchen use.
Appearance
This stainless steel Etekcity kitchen scale has a base diameter of 19cm, so fits easily into a cupboard, but also looks good on the worktop. The bowl has a diameter of close to 21cm at its widest point, and a depth of just under 10cm. This is a good sized bowl for mixing small quantities, such as cake frosting or pancake batter, reducing the amount of washing up!
The scales have just four buttons: power, a button to set the timer, one to reset the scales to zero and to set the time on the timer, and a button to change the unit of measurement. Full instructions are supplied, but the operation is very simple. The backlit display is bright and very clear.
Function
These kitchen scales require 2 AAA batteries, which are supplied. They are easy to fit on the underside of the scale. On testing, the scales perform very well, and the platform can be used for dishes other than the supplied bowl, like larger mixing bowls. The scales can measure up to 11kg or 5lb, and for my kitchen use this would be an ample amount because I generally just use scales for baking, and rarely exceed a 2lb loaf.
The default measurement is pounds and ounces (imperial), although the scales can also measure in kilograms and grams (metric). The only unit of measurement for temperature is fahrenheit, and this displays the room temperature not the temperature of the item resting on the scales. Unit of measurement changes very quickly and easily, as does a return to zero.
It is unfortunate that these scales do not offer a liquid measurement, but overall they are a good set of kitchen scales and excellent for baking. I love them.
This is a smart looking set of kitchen scales with its own stainless steel bowl. The bowl measures approximately 9.5 cm deep with a diameter of approximately 21 cm. It will take a kilo bag of flour but if you need to measure into a larger bowl this is possible. The base on which the bowl sits is 11 cm diameter with a slight raised lip to stop the bowl slipping off. If your bowl has a base of 11 cm or less it will fit perfectly. If it has a larger base then you’ll just need to take extra care as the lip won’t hold it in place. Equally you can weigh items without using the bowl at all.
The control panel has a black on white LCD display with large figures to display the weight (1 cm tall) and a smaller figures (0.5 cm tall approx.) to display additional information. The display is surrounded by four buttons, (two rocker switches) on/off, Zero, Unit and Timer.
Note: the scale comes complete with 2 AAA batteries, although you have to open the battery compartment to remove the seal before the scales will work. It wasn’t immediately obvious to me how to open th battery compartment. There’s a small lug you have to pull, which I’ve highlighted with a red arrow in one of the pictures.
The weighing function has all the features you’d expect. On switch on the scale sets itself to zero to take account of the weight of whichever bowl you use. The zero button then lets you zero the scale after adding each ingredient so you don’t have to do the maths yourself. At any point you can press the unit button and the display instantly converts the weight from grams to pounds and ounces or vice versa.
The display has a two minute auto shut off which sometimes is inconvenient, particularly if you’re thumbing through the recipe book to check a weight. It isn’t such a problem if you’ve completed adding an ingredient, since when you switch back on the display zero’s and is ready for the next ingredient. Where it does cause problems is when you’re half way through adding something and pause to check that you’re adding the right amount. Then you have a two minute challenge to find the answer before it switches off. One solution is just to press on the bowl for a moment as this resets the two minute count-down
The scale has a handy built-in countdown timer function that can time periods up to 99 minutes. The display also shows the room temperature. I’m not sure why you need to know this whilst cooking, but cleverer cooks than me might find the perfect use for this.
Overall the design looks very smart, it has all the features you need and the timer is a handy addition that saves me searching for another gadget in the cutlery drawer. Operation is very straightforward and intuitive and to save space the base can be upturned and stored in the bowl. I really like it.
I was provided with these scales for impartial review.
