It is so convenient to have my setup all together. I have my gaming PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and work laptop all hooked up with this and it is so easy to switch between inputs do display on my dual monitors. I haven’t had any issues.
I’m using this to connect two computers to two monitors. Previously I had two manual push-button A/B switches and began having trouble with one of the monitors not being recognized consistently or flickering after several months. Bought this to replace that nonsense.
Got each output (or “out put” as it’s listed on the remote) connected to a monitor, and the inputs from each PC are assigned to the inputs accordingly, so I can push “In 1” and “In 2” on the remote for my work PC, and 3 and 4 for my personal Macbook Pro. Switching is pretty quick and has been very stable thus far after a few weeks of use.
It’s not the easiest to remember which input is what on the remote, so I took colored sharpies and color coded the buttons around the edges and taped a color key – red for work, blue for play. Now when I switch, I just hit the red or blue buttons accordingly.
Pretty solid and good for the price.
I don’t use this for entertainment purposes; I needed an HDMI Matrix/Switch for my work with two outputs, which does the job. I use one output for the monitor and another to capture devices to take screenshots of multiple streaming apps for competitive analytics and research purposes.
Mine went kaput after less than a year but worked well enough during that time that i purchased another. Hopefully this second one lasts longe
I love, love, love this product. I have 1 output that goes directly to my TV and the other to my surround sound receiver. I have a cable box, DVD, and computer connected to the inputs leaving an open input. The controls couldn’t be simpler. Two sets of four buttons. each input is in a corner of a square on the remote. Unlike some of my remotes this is easy to operate even in a dimly lit room. I eliminate three splitters and a switch. I found that either the splitters would not truly pass 4K or they failed in short time. I also was also able to eliminate many HDMI cables. Awesome yet simple device, wish I would have discovered it along time ago!
I am a TV professional broadcaster. I have had several of these die within a few weeks of each other (3).
I usually get AJA or Blackmagic design, which usually last years. These unfortunately do not.
Update: After my initial review, the seller contacted me and shipped a new converter. This has been in service for over a month and has had no problems. Great customer service and kudos to them for stepping up !!!
This SDI to HDMI converter works perfectly, passing the signal crisply without any fall off. It compares favorably to the Black Magic unit and costs less. I highly recommend this converter.
These boxes are great for converting straight out of a camera SDI to HDMI. I also used them to send MultiView out of a Blackmagic ATEM, But beware that it does not pass the audio. I tried them for Program out to TVs in hallways and auxiliary rooms and such. But we had to run separate audio to the rooms also, as the audio did not translate from the SDI to the HDMI outputs.
Great value for the product.
I’ve used a variety of these types of devices over the years. This is by far the sturdiest, cheapest one out there. It looks and functions exactly the same as the black magic counterpart, although the cases are slightly different. An excellent product and a great value.
Powers off of a USB outlet, which my monitor has, so that makes a neat setup. It also has a pass thru output which is worth the few extra dollars.
Note: only 2CH audio which was confirmed by what I can only describe as fantastic, fast, customer support. So, if you need more than CH 1&2, then it’s not your thing, otherwise, it’s really good!
I’ve purchased various SDI to HDMI converters. They all work, but for quality, this is the best I have ever used. It is nice and small, packaged very nice. And it seems that it is made of good material and expensive components. The signal is clear and strong. I could not find any thing wrong with any part of this product. Well recommend.
I bought this unit so I could use an HD-SDI output from my Sound Devices PIX240 to TV with an HDMI input. I tried it for the first time the other day and it worked! I fed it a 1080p/23.976 signal and also tried 1080i/59.94 signal and they both worked on my Vizio 26″ TV. It looked good but I wasn’t looking for broadcast quality so I didn’t really analyze the picture.
I like the loop through feature and the fact that it will convert multiple resolutions and formats.
It’s pretty light weight. I’m not sure if would hold up to heavy duty professional use. The power supply connection looks like it might be a potential weak point if the unit gets a lot of heavy use. For my purposes it works fine, though, and seems like a great deal for the money. I would recommend it for light duty, occasional use or for a back up.
I am not a professional video engineer, but this tool is handy for the work I perform in the corporate trade show world.
This interface is built in a robust metal chassis, unlike many of the converters at this price point. It’s fairly small, easy enough to attach to the back of a display with some velcro or tape. It powers from USB, which is handy as most displays have USB ports on them. Just plug the USB micro cable into the interface and then power up from the standard USB connector on the display. No extra Power supply needed then!
If you are in the market, this is a must buy!
I just received this yesterday. Tested it out. Works great going from my C300mk2 to both my Viewsonic and Asus ProArt color displays (both $300-$500 range monitors). FYI, I also tested it out on a $100 LG computer monitor and the LG would not accept the signal. I’ve had issues with other brand SDI to HDMI converters not working with consumer TVs and monitors as well. Even going direct from camera HDMI out to the TV. So before you assume it’s the converter that’s giving you issues, try hooking it up to a more professional display.
