This pruners are quite what you would expect from the renowned Fiskars brand, with one exception. The metal handles only go halfway inside of the plastic handle cover and when enough pressure is applied, the plastic snaps. It’s best not to use this tool for cutting anything thicker than 1 cm and if you have no choice, don’t squeeze the handles too hard. Use the blade to cut around the branch in a circular motion. For bigger branches, use the lopper instead.
Otherways than that, very good tool.

I tend to go for certain brands and fiskars is definately in that list. These are really easy to use really sharp and precise was so happy I bought them then realised it’s the third time I have bought them haha and I would buy them again in a heart beat they are really good

We have been ‘garden centre’ or discount shop buyers of secateurs in the past and like most of the things we’ve bought whether tools or gloves we usually end up buying them twice.

Paid a little more and got these clipper. They are good quality and strong, they won’t last forever but they are well made and comfortable to use. The mechanism on the blades is easy to lock one-handed and the width they open to is maybe a bit narrower but that is also a guide to how thick the things you are cutting can be.

Sharp and don’t get locked up much so far, would recommend.

Very good pruner for flowers and small branches etc. as recommended by manufacturer. One small problem: the push up and down clip thing that holds blades together when not in use can accidently engage while you are using the pruner, which is very annoying. Other than that they are nice clean cutters and easy to hold.

I do like these secateurs. So many secteurs have a wound flat spring with sharp edges that are forever taking bites out of my hand. These have a simple coiled spring that does not give me any grief. Brilliant lightweight secateurs.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI have been using these for work since September 2014. Sometime I end up sharpening them twice a day as they are used so much and probably abused too( cutting inch diameter+ branches)!!
My only gripe is that I can not buy spare springs from the manufacturer. I found that two clothes peg springs do the job well, but I get through a set of springs(clothes pegs ones or original) in about 2 months.
The more you use them the more comfortable they are.
Brilliant bit of kit if kept sharp and regularly oiled.
******Update!!! I have found the correct size springs on Amazon!! 7mm diameter, 30mm free length, 18mm compressed, 0.8mm wire. 30 springs for 8.99!! Just measured how much I’ve worn away by regular sharpening, about 2mm off the blade, and still working well!!! Just serviced them, oiled, sharpened and bolt tightened. Working like new again(with the new spring)!! Very impressed how they are lasting!!!
***** Just added a picture of how worn my blade is now.
And they are still going strong!!!
I think I’ve given them more work since I bought them than most people will in 15-20 years!!!
I’m very pleased with them!!! Now 5 stars!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Manufacturer doesn't supply spare springs, but.....

I’ve used Fiskars craft scissors for many years so when I needed a pair of secateurs it was the brand I 1st looked at. They arrived 2 days after I ordered them,so really quick. I tried them out in our garden today on our large leylandii hedge. They made large job much easier &quicker. They are so sharp&cut through pretty thick fronds with ease. They cut up to about 1.5 cm,I needed to use both hands for the thicker bits but the rest was single handed. Highly recommended.

This was a replacement for the same product I bought several years ago from a well known DIY store. I can genuinely say that these are among the best secateurs I’ve ever used.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought these for myself as my hubby said to buy my own because I complained of his being blunt,(he says they’re not), so I did, now he wants to use mine because they are better than his,(no chance) these are great, they cut through branches that are as thick as my little finger with ease and probably thicker ones as well, and no complaints about the lock as some reviews said,so am quite impressed and would buy again if needed to.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThese Fiskars Bypass Pruners live up to the quality and performance I’ve come expect from the brand. They look and feel well made plus cut through even quite thick and pithy greenery without a problem. In use they are comfortable to hold for left or right-handed users too. The blades remain sharp and the safety locking mechanism is easy to operate. A real quality product at a very reasonable price. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersOK so you researched it on Wikipedia and figured the difference between Bypass and Anvil pruners/secateurs. So I have climbing roses all over the house and apple tree in garden so figured I might need both types, and duly ordered them. They both look almost the same, they both open about the same amount, and they are both good quality. Wiki tells me the anvil will be better on the thick branches of the apple tree but to be fair I reckon the bypass will handle it no problem too. So……I am well and truly covered for any pruning challenge, but reckon the bypass set would probably cover most angles. Good pruners if anyone in doubt.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersGood at cutting through anything up to finger thick stems or branches. It’s comfortable to use. it would get five stars except that the orange plastic locking switch is bit weak and broke on the first pair. This said they still work well and did last longer than anything previous models.
