Frog Tape Yellow Delicate Surface Painters Masking Tape 36mm
Frog Tape Yellow Delicate Surface Painters Masking Tape 36mm x 41.1m. Indoor painting and decorating for sharp lines and no paint bleed
Clean Surface & Let Dry
Sand then clean the area you will be masking and painting before you tape to make sure the surface is dust free. Use a damp sponge and a few drops of washing up liquid mixed in a bucket of warm water. Let surface dry completely before applying tape.
Tape in 30-60cm Sections
Tape any areas on your surface you want to keep paint-free. For best results, tape in 30-60cm sections to avoid stretching the tape.
Burnish Tape’s Edge
Burnish the tape’s edge with a plastic tool like a putty knife or credit card to ensure the tape is completely flush with the surface you will be painting.
Remove Tape When Paint is Wet
For best results, remove the tape while the paint is still wet, making sure to slowly pull at a 45 degree angle.

Have used this frequently and has never let me down! It is on the ‘pricey’ side, hence I try and buy more than 1 if in stock.
Garantee the paint won’t come off where it is stuck. Well worth the money.
Have previous experience of this tape – it really is extremely good – no bleeding of paint underneath yet easy to remove post use with no damage to underlying decoration. Recommended.
Used for cutting in around skirting and ceiling. Colour didn’t mix and minimal peeling. Just make sure you don’t leave it on for more then a few hours as it will peel the paint.
Used this when externally painting our narrowboat body and hull. This tape is excellent at preventing paint seepage, so gives crisp borderlines. We left some of it on for almost a week and that was harder to remove, but the tape we only left in place for two or three days came off fine. This is our favourite type of masking tape. Highly recommended.
The tape itself is good but not foolproof on all newly painted surfaces. The two issues I have is that there is a lot of wasteful plastic packaging, and the cost of this tape keeps going up and does not compare to the cost in DIY stores. 7 now – was about half that only two years ago.
Frog tape does exactly what it says , stops paint seeping through and doesn’t strip off paint when removed properly
I used this on the stairs and it did a good job.
I have been using gree Frog tape for quite a while and always pleased with the way it worked, particularly how easy I could tear it cleanly from the roll. The only negative was it damaged newly emulsion painted surfaces. But then I discovered yellow Frog Tape. It is perfect and so pleased I found it. Painters Tape is so much better than normal masking tape.
Used to protect paint in the corners when painting a ‘feature’ wall. Easily applied, stayed in place & removed without fuss. Perfect lines with no bleed.
I only ever use this masking tape now for my painting projects and wouldn’t use anything else now. Never had a problem using it. It is important that users follow instructions when using on delicate surfaces. Don’t tug it off, stay close to the surface and you will get a professional finish. Seen so many people blame the product when they are at fault. Highest recommendation from me.
frog tape it is what it is the best masking tape there is.
This is great to use on freshly painted surfaces or wallpaper where your wife changes her mind about the colour lol Recommend product when you don’t need the strength of the green frog tape
I have never used Frog Tape before but will be from now on. I am painting walls with emulsion, an adjacent wall is wallpapered. I used the Frog Tape on the wallpaper at the corner of the two walls and proceeded to paint using a roller, the tape ended up with paint on it. I left it a few hours and slowly peeled the tape off. No problems whatsoever, a nice clean line at the corner and no damage to the wallpaper, brilliant tape, worth paying that bit extra for.
As someone with shakey hands this gave me really clean lines when cutting in, peeled off easily and left no residue behind. I also used this to mark out a paint line to paint a wall two different colours and there was abolutely no bleeding.
I have used the other version of frog tape for my boys room boarder so I knew that I wanted to use the brand again.
I decided to use the lower tack version just to be on the safe side with me just plastering it and painting it.
This worked great easy to apply and super neat edges. Removed with no issues and did rip off any paint.
Just remember when you have used it to put it back in the box to keep the special agent which repels the paint clea
This tape is like a sticky genius that knows its boundaries, and it’s not afraid to show it! It sticks where it’s supposed to and peels off without a fuss – no paint bleed, no mess, no drama. I’ve even caught my walls applauding its performance! If you want clean lines and hassle-free painting, hop on the FrogTape bandwagon. It’s time to ribbit good results!
Used whilst painting the hallway. Best to use in small strips to accurately apply. Protected the door frames and skirting boards from rogue paint. Straightforward to remove when finished. I’ve tried other tapes like electrical and masking, but Frog Tape is just so much better.
This tape works great. My kids wanted some geometric design in their room. I bought this tape and I’m so glad I did. Paint had been dry for just over 24 hours, tape went on fine, came off fine, no paint taken off the walls. I think the key is to make sure the paint is still wet when you pull the tape off and pull it off at the right angle.
Used this to re-paint my flat, this has been amazing in protecting the borders and lines between different colour paint.
There was a little bleeding but only a few times across all the areas and it protected the newly painted walls completely.
The only thing that I would think about next time is getting the wider size to cover a bigger edge.
Does what it is supposed to do, sticks well and releases with out damage, think that’s all you could ask for.
Bought this after originally buying the green tape, don’t buy that, buy this.
The green tape will strip back emulsion to bare walls when you take it off even if the paint has been there for years. This will generally not do that. Used it on paint that is only 24 hours dry and the odd spot has still lifted but for the most part works really well.
Masking off would be so much easier if people built straight edges in houses! A little fiddly to try and follow ceiling lines which might not be exactly straight but sure that is a user issue rather than a product one!
I’ve tried the yellow/green/orange tapes. I now use yellow exclusively. Plenty of experience with it while painting my entire house from bare plaster, with walls different colours to ceiling, so always having to tape the ceiling as well as doorframes/skirting/etc.
It’s not very high tack; that’s the green one, which I found way too tacky for wall paint. The orange one conversely is nowhere near tacky enough – it doesn’t stay attached to surfaces with regular matt paint. The yellow one sticks well and peels off easily enough. The only issue is, will it pull off any paint with it?
There are load of reviews of it pulling off large chunks of paint. Based solely on my own experience of it mostly being good but occasionally pulling some paint off, I would say this: if the paint on your wall wasn’t done properly, this tape may pull it off. By which I mean, if someone painted a top coat directly on unpainted plaster, or the surface under the current top coat was dirty, or anything which would cause the paint to not be attached to the surface below as well as it should, then this tape may pull it off.
When I’ve pulled it off the few areas I knew weren’t painted correctly (e.g. top coat directly over plaster or filler with no mist coat), it often pulled the paint off. However the vast, vast majority of it was done properly – couple mist coats, couple top coats – and although I still got the occasional tiny spec pulled off, for the most part it comes off easily and cleanly.
I haven’t had any issues of paint soaking through. Lines nice and clean. Sticks well to both normal emulsion and solvent based paints.
We wanted to do a silver union jack on our bathroom wall and after initially using masking tape were pretty disappointed by how the lines came out. The paint bled through the masking tape and so the lines weren’t ‘clean’.
After a bit of googling, we decided to give frog tape a go. As the paint was only a few days old, we went for the yellow coloured one, which is less sticky and apparently best for paint which might not have cured yet.
The tape was easy to cut, apply and remove. We didn’t have any issues with it not sticking or pulling off paint once we removed it. After repainting out Union Jack, we can’t say the lines are ‘perfect’, there’s the odd bleed through, but it’s 10x better and after a few minor fixes it’ll be as good as we’d hoped.
I really rate this tape and wish we’d used it originally as would have saved a lot of time. I’d probably go for the green version for a ‘new’ wall or this yellow version for a wall you’ve recently painted.
Brilliant stuff to be honest and I use it all the time now. Having used other stuff such as the 3M blue tape – which to be fair is good as well – this is the best combo of quality, price and usability I’ve come across.
One could ask why spend a tad more on ‘expensive’ brand tape when the cheap stuff is available and I used to wonder that but then I figured that decorating a room is damned expensive now with even the lower end paints and emulsions costing an arm and a leg. I figured that a few more quid for decent tape is money well spent. And it is.
This tape sticks well but won’t pull the paint back off your walls unless you have particularly crumbly plasterwork. It leaves a nice crisp edge and is easy to apply. Cuts and tears easily as well so no problems putting it on.
Being bright green it’s also easy to see exactly where you place it too which, can be an issue with the beige tape on magnolia walls especially if you are pulling a late job to keep The Boss happy.
As a side note I make models as well and I use this for the areas that need a bit large covering rather than the very expensive Tamiya tape. Works really well for that as well and I’ve never pulled any acrylic paint off either.
Overall a great painters tape.
