This works much better than I expected, once it gets hold it pulls you into the ground, my advice would be to start off gently and get used to the way it pulls you intowards the ground. Good bit of kit, I used it to pre dig holes for wooden stakes I was putting in to hold a border round a garden bed.

Purchased to add multiple drainage holes to be filled with coarse grave/small stones to prevent excess water during high rainfall after a dry spell. Brilliant and it work well.

Porvided you have a powerful enough cordless drill it is recommended that you use at least a 12V drill, this is a very helpful product for those that are a little bit infirm.

Used for planting a load of crocus bulbs.
Making the holes is so fast and easy with this!
As others say it can start digging in and taking you through to Australia but if you have a torque setting on your drill just turn it down until it stalls the reverse it and start again.
My neighbour and I must have done around 150 plants in half an hour!

Produces a nice hole for planting bulbs. The two different sizes are handy for varying bulbs. Seems well built so far and will be putting to further use once the weather permits.

I bought this to plant bulbs in a meadow , which is uncultivated.
Very sturdy product, will drill through impacted soil if it’s dry enough.
Beware, if you don’t have strong hands, use your knees to clamp the drill!

Have read many welds fail but not on these. Hit foots while using and spun the drill but the blades remain intact. Would recommend especially as you get two sizes. Larger size ideal for daffodil bulbs.

I have several 100mm drain pipes in the earth that eventually fill with earth & debris.
I have been looking for something to clean them out for a long time. This works like a dream.
    Highly recommended.

Used it for some post holes.. to get started anyway as this isn’t quite wide enough. Goes well as long as you dont hit big stones. If you do go to fast and hit a stone it can spin the drill in your hand. But it worked really well for a good 60cm depth and also great for potted plants going in the garde

easily fitted my cordless drill. good to use both drill functions( forward & reverse), as this makes a decent hole to plant my bulbs.
feels sturdy, as all one piesce of metal rod.

It does the job well. It saves a lot of effort and time. Just be aware that if you hit a stone, root or anything hard, your drill will feel like it is gone wild. It does not like hard surprises. But on earth, as hard as it can be it is great.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI use this every day now on my allotment. I am 75 and this makes all my planting so much easier, no bending down or struggling with bulb planters in hard soil. I also use it to drill out holes for canes and posts. A fellow allotmenter saw me using this and went out and bought one the very next day – a good recommendation. As I said: brilliant. A tip: go gently with it, pull the auger out periodically to clear the soil (as you do using a drill on concrete or brick), and prepare the ground first by pouring water over the spot you’re drilling (this stops loose, dry bits falling back into the hole). It works fine using a lower-powered 12 volt drill.

This works okay and it works well on my cordless drill I would recommend it for anyone for gardening and turning the garden over.
I bought it to bore some holes and I was a little adventurous if they did one with an sds drill attachment that would be great.

a strong little tool which speeds up planting quantities of bulbs but remember two things…-1) you need to fill the hole in with good earth to complete the job and 2) Avoid areas where tree/or shrub roots are likely to be as the tool quickly grips these and tries to take you with it!!

Easy to use; best for flowerbeds where you can move the soil back over the hole. For sowing bulbs in lawns you’re better off with a round punch as you then get a plug of lawn to put back, which this doesn’t give you.

Do be cautious of going too fast if you have other plants under the soil in the flower bed that you want to avoid, even on a slow drill setting this can get ‘carried away’! But it does make digging a small hole super quick as well as being great for breaking up and aerating soil. Very impressed.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFaced with the back breaking task of planting fritillaries again in a lawn I decided to give these a try. After getting the hang of it – plunge into lawn and while its still turning pull out when required depth reached- or you end up in Australia. The small one worked fine with an 18v rechargeable Bosch drill. Not tried the larger one yet but I don’t think this portable drill would have the heft needed in a compacted lawn, but would be OK in a flower bed, but so would a conventional planter. Either way you’ve still got to get down on your knees but its a much quicker way to plant bulbs in a lawn.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI had 600 tulip bulbs to plant in a recently cleared bed – full of old roots so not the easiest to dig. Bought a so called bulb planter which failed after 3 bulbs and needed to be bent into shape again, any way gave up and continued with a small fork and a trowel, had done 320 bulbs in over 4 hours and got a huge blister on my hand. Ordered this and planted the remaining 280 in less than hour! Wish I’d had this in the first place would have saved a lot of pain and time and does a neater job. Lets face it this is a bit of metal so more of a five star review of the method than the actual product. If you want to plant something that matches the size then this is definately the tool for the job.

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersMy first impressions on receiving the item were that it’s a lot smaller than I imagined. I ordered the (4*45cm/1.6*18 in)

I give it the credit it did the job. It made the holes required to plant new plants in my garden. I even ended up using it for digging out weeds in reverse drill mode. Also, the Auger Drill Bit was used to soften hard soil. With the length of the drill bit, it saves on over bending your back also your hands from doing the main work.

Don’t use it near bricks or concrete as it will damage the Auger Drill Bit.

    There are other sizes available:

    4 x 22cm/1.6 x 9inch
    4 x 45cm/1.6 x 18inch
    8 x 23 cm/3 x 9 inch
    8 x 25 cm/3 x 10 inch
    8 x 30 cm/3 x 12 inch
    8 x 30 cm/3 x 12 inch

Mostly they come in black colour with some drill bit available in a light green colour.

I do recommend this item as it does save time as well as your labour workout.
