No issues with this razor only the refills a bit expensive.
I bought this product for a gift for my son.
Personal use, it’s light, comfortable, and has a one pass blade. I liked it. We’ll done Gillet labs.
Does what it says on the tin,
Requires a very minimal amount of effort to painlessly shave – For the guys though, be warned about use in the intimate regions (something I know that is on every guy’s mind when they see a shaver) – While totally fit for purpose and does the trick as one might expect, it takes a certain level of extra care as nicks and cuts are a high likelihood around that area when due care isn’t given.~
So yes it works on any part of the body that wishes to be shaved, but the more valuable the area is to you, the more care you need to give it, if this is done, then the razor is highly recommended – If you are the type of person who doesn’t really take much care in the effectiveness and instead just whizzes it across the desired area hoping for the best, then I suggest a different razor that has some fashion of a safety system
Impressed with razor. Stated it came with a spare refill blade, no blade not impressed!!!!
Great product but not the best razor Gillette has made
Good idea from Gillette. Handy to have stand for blade. Does what it’s supposed to
The product comes in lovely packaging that looks very high class and well made so would make an excellent present for someone. In the pack, you get the handle, 2x razers and stand.
The shaver is well made and has some weight to it, looks and feels like a premium product. The stand is handy, keeps the shaver from getting wet on the sink.
It gives a great close shave and moves across your face easily and closely.
The only problem is the Price of the replacement blades currently on Amazon for 30 for nine, I have been using Harry blades for about a year now, and although this product gives a better and closer shave, I don’t think I can justify the extra cost. I hope the cost of the blades comes down and I can use this more.
Overall a great shave but expensive.
I really like it, not only it is well packed, I really appreciate that there is no plastic, only paper is used in the packaging. The razor looks elegant. And on the hand, the weight and the shape of the razor feels ergonomic. The handle of the razor is a blend of metallic and rubber, it feels good to hold. It also comes with a base to hold the razor, I would not say it is a necessary thing to have, but it does make it a lot neater without having to place the razor flat in the bathroom. A standing up razor looks much more organised and better presented. The only downside of it is because there is no escape from the water at the base, water can accumulate at the hole that holds the razor. The blade is of good quality, it gives a really clean shave and hasn’t cut my skin once in the last 2 weeks since I started using it even when I am in a rush and pressed a bit hard to the skin shaving fast. However, it is a bit pricey.
First and most importantly in a razor – it gives a really good smooth shave and can’t be faulted at all. I was really impressed with how it cut through several days growth of stubble with ease and moulded perfectly around my chin and did all I asked of it with ease and with amazing results. So 5/5 for that.
On the downside the replacement blades are eyewateringly expensive and the “magnetic stand” is somewhat pointless as it isn’t the razor handle that is held magnetically to the base which would make sense, but rather the base is magnetic which fixes it securely to…. well, nothing particularly in bathrooms. So the razor constantly falls off the stand and the stand doesn’t stick to anything. All in all a rather pointless gimmick. If the cost of blades come down I will continue to use it, otherwise I am unsure.
I have used Gillette razors many times in the past and this is definitely a step in the right direction.
The cosmetic of the razor is premium as in colours used and even down to the packaging and product reveal upon opening.
The hold is good , solid and good weighted ergonomically functions well and gets to areas needed to line out jawline etc.
I’m still not sold on the exfoliating barand it probably counters the shaving gear I’m using as I’m not getting the close shave that I really want.
A solid 4/5 though and I would recommend , the magnetic stand is also a nice touch , I know exactly where it is ready for next time.
The razor is pretty good, i really love the design of the handle and the stand. The magnet isn’t super strong but holds the razor well anyway. The blade is really good and precise, however it’s a shame that only one is included in the box! Specially considering that they’re about 5 each. That is the most disappointing part of this story, and they’re not replaceable with anything but the original ones due to the exfoliating bar – which to be honest seems a bit gimmicky to me, i don’t really feel any difference but maybe it’s doing its exfoliation without me noticing – .
Overall i can say this razor is very good, probably better than most of the competition, however this comes at a price, as the blades are too expensive in my opinion.
Bought this product as it appeared to be a modern upgrade from Gillette – to be honest I am disappointed with it – it is a really nice looking design and I live the magnetic base unit which allows me to keep my razor handy and standing up in my bathroom – however this is a very expensive replacement for my fusion pro glide power razor – it does not give a better shave though – so I think I’m going to go back to the fusion pro glide power – I will persevere with this a bit longer to see if it improves my skin surface quality but not hopeful – I rather wish the developers had redesigned the pro glide power to allow that to sit in the sleek magnetic base –
This is an excellent quality razor, The 5 blades ensures that there is no tugging and pulling and it gives a really easy shave. although not as close as I was expecting. It is really well designed with some rubber sections on the handle to grip in the wet and a spring loaded head that allows extra movement.
It comes with a small circular stand for the razor but to me this seems a bit of a waste of money and is not needed and just adds to some unnecessary waste of resources along with the bits of unnecessary packaging that are not particularly environmentally friendly.
As for the exfoliating bar does it work? who knows.
The replacement blades are just too expensive but if that does not bother you then this razor will definetly satisfy your needs.
In summary, great shaver and gives a great shave. Would definitely recommend this product and would definitely help a first-time shaver, but I find the head a bit big.
Coming from a mach 3 which I used for 10 plus years, this shaver cuts so smoothly. The head follows the contours of my face so much better and risk of cuts of scrapping the skin is so much less, I didn’t realise how much work I had to do when using my old shaver.
Maybe I still need some more time to get used but I fine the blade head quite large and in areas under my nose I find myself picking up my mach 3 to finish off. Would love a smaller finishing head or if the handle could be interchangeable with older heads.
Firstly the packaging of the razor is like a mobile phone package but it gives a premium feel. Look of the razor is nice with gold and black colour. First shave was really smooth and close. Just one stroke is enough and it leaves no hair. The handle is little heavy with metal body and the grip is not so firm. Flexdisc helps reach all areas easily. As far as exfoliating bar is concerned, I couldn’t feel much difference from my previous razor which was also from Gillette without this bar. One good thing unlike previous ones is that it does not irritate or burn after the shave. Second shave onwards, it has started having slight friction. The stand is quite useful. Overall, this is a nice razor and can be recommended to all.
Bought this on whim as I was somewhat underwhelmed with the old Fusion razor – The 5 blades caused way too much irritation and the Skinguard sensitive blades used to leave quite a few hairs so I have been making do with a traditional safety razor for the last couple of years – this is not great if you are in a hurry and need to shave in the shower. First impressions are good, the packaging is cardboard rather than plastic so tough you need stanley knife to open. The shave handle feels nicely weighted and the matt black and gold colouring makes it look like a quality product.
Using this razor for the first time felt a little odd, almost like I was using blunt blades as the exfoliating bar scrapes across the skin so I was worried about what a mess my skin would be in. Once I got used to the strange feeling and felt my skin to verify that hair was being removed, I got a little more confident and completed the shave successfully.
I have used this a few times now and so far, so good, no skin irritation and a decent shave for once. Time will tell how long the blades will last and if the exfoliating bar, which looks to be hard plastic and non-removable, is doing something over and above a new razor blade.
I would recommend this to those with sensitive looking to shave with little time on their hands. I can maintain similar results using a combination of exfoliating regularly and shaving very carefully but this takes time.
