This game is great fun!!
Lots of laughs,
Can be played a number of times with same people as so many tasks to do,
Great tasks to do,
Well made,
Love it!
Great game. Played over Xmas and was brilliant fun!
For all ages, daughter (9) loves it
Boom it also good for single tasks.
Plaued this with my husband and older children over Christmas and its great. It’s very visual and has lots of components to set up. The instructions are thorough and easy to understand. The game takes a while to set up but once done it’s worth it.
I’d say this is very giftable and is presented nicely.
This new 2022 Special Edition Taskmaster Secret Series Official Board Game is an absolute must have!
The game is perfect for family nights in, parties, get togethers and Christmas.
We had so much fun competing in the ludicrous tasks against other players to win.
The game is fun and engaging and perfect for all ages.
We laughed and cheered, and the game made for a great evening of entertainment.
The game pieces, cards and instructions are all of excellent quality, and the game is fairly easy to understand and play.
I highly recommend this game .
I’ve never watched the TV show but always looking for fun additions to our family games night.
This game is really interactive, so can be really fun if everyone is psyched up and ready to get stuck in. Each round has a taskmaster who is in charge of drawing the task cards and judging the performance of each team/player for that round.
There are a wide variety of different tasks, of all different levels.
It is quite a pricey game, but it can last a long time and I don’t think it would get boring for a long time.
Seems to be made of good quality too, and the cards are durable.
I had no idea what this game was but we enjoy games as a family so thought we would give it a try. It looks brilliant! The instructions are easy to follow & it list extra bits you need but it’s only small bits like a pencil/paper blindfold etc. we are saving it to play Christmas day & we are really looking forward to playing.
So I played this with a group of my friends at our recent adults games night and we all found it a ton of fun and very engaging! It definitely got us thinking that’s for sure. I like that the game play after reading through the rules was fairly easy and straightforward and it was very easy for us to set up and use. The quality of the game itself is really good as it’s a nice strong and sturdy set that’s pretty durable too. I like the layout and all the bits and pieces like the envelopes and boxes make it really interactive and a step up from just a card game. It’s very giftable in my opinion and I think it will make a great present for someone. We didn’t have any issues with playing it and we all had a blast so I do recommend it and feel the value for money is very good. It gets a thumbs up from me!
This is definitely going to be popular with fans of the show but it’s not the sort of game you can play instantly out of the box, some prep will be needed and this can spoil the enjoyment a bit.
It’s not possible to play this as a couple, you need at least 3 people, ideally 5 to match the show.
Considering all the items you get in the box and the playability, it’s a good substitute for actually being on the show.
Hope you found my review helpful
A fantastic way to play taskmaster at home, they really have put a lot of thought into this.
This would be a perfect game to play over the course of a few weeks meeting with friends.
There are loads of tasks in the box and as you open each one you compete with other contestants to please the taskmaster!
Each task envelope counts as one ‘episode’ and at the end of each episode it gives you a task for the next one – to allow for the ‘bring in xyz’ task to take place.
On the back of each task envelope it gives you exactly what you need to complete the task, usually things that you will just have lying around at home.
If it happens you don’t have a certain object you can use an ‘alternate’ task card to swap it out.
There are also boxes which contain more tasks and objects, these all relate to one episode so you don’t use all the boxes on the first task.
You each get a character board to put a running score on and you also get a series scoreboard to keep track between the episodes.
‘But what happens when I’ve completed all the tasks?’ well… The champion task of course!
This really is a brilliant game, whether you watch the show or not it will lead to hours of laughing at the inventiveness and sheer stupidity of the tasks being completed.
What happens when all of my tasks are done?
Based on the TV series, this is a great family game, a max of five people can play so not so good for bigger groups; the rules take a bit of time to work out but once you have, it’s pretty straight forward. Great if you are a fan of the show but not sure this one has the staying power to keep everyone engaged for years ahead.
The set contains:
10 episode task envelopes; 5 Taskmaster art playing pieces with 1 wipe-clean pen;10 secret boxes with secret items; 10 secret task cards, and Secret Series leader board and a Secret Series champion’s envelope.
Personally Ive never watched an episode of Taskmaster however I happened to recall a conversation I had with my friend a few weeks ago when were talking about what programmes we had been watching lately and she happen to mention binge watching Taskmaster so when I saw the board game up to test and review I jumped at the chance to order it and thought it would be a great gift idea with Christmas just around the corner.
For obvious reasons I haven’t open the box however it’s packaged well and from what I do know and from other reviewers this board game seems like a lot of fun with its challenges.
I’m excited to gift this to her at Christmas.
I really like the first impressions are very visual game with lots of components
The instructions leaflet is quite comprehensive this is when I realised there is a fair bit prep to set the game up it’s not a game everyone will know how to play automatically
Really impressed with all the components very well made very well thought of and if you are a fan of the program this is the game for you for me too much prep work little bit disappointed
Once we play the game once and we have the basic principle of the set up it was a lot of fun and for the price point of 30 very competitive on the market Quite pleased overall
price at time of review 29.99
had some friends over to try out a few games today and this stood out as one of the favs.
hard to review without spoilers but it was alot of fun, packaged well, intructions are clear and easy to follow and everything encluded is well made
If you’re a fan of Taskmaster then this will be a certain hit. If not, it’s still great fun.
The game is based on a typical episode of Taskmaster. It is broken down as follows:
– Tasks (5 per episode + an extra ‘all play’ task)
– Episodes (10 per Series)
– Series (1)
You can play as little or as much as you want in one sitting. Each episode can take up to an hour, so it might be worth deciding beforehand who you’re going to play with because unless you’re aiming to complete the series in one marathon sitting, you’ll have to invite them back to finish it! It’s likely to take at least 12 hours to complete the series.
There are videos from Alex Horne himself delivering some of the tasks. These are easily accessed by scanning QR codes in each episode envelope.
I’ll refrain from commenting on the tasks themselves, so as not to ruin the surprise.
All the tasks require typical household items in order to participate. Things like pen, paper, tape measure, mobile phone etc. However, the prizes that each contestant has to put forward for each episode need a bit of imagination. This might be ok if you’re playing as a family in the same household but if you have guests they may have to rummage around your house! I think it would have been better if the prizes were shown on a list somewhere so you could prep your guests to bring things with them. In reality you don’t know what prizes you need until you finish the previous episode. This can take time to sort out.
The only other downside is that in reality you’re only going to play the whole series once. Personally I wouldn’t want to repeat the tasks again, even if they were with different contestants. It is possible to put everything back though and pass it onto someone else.
Overall a really enjoyable game. Lots of laughs indeed!
