The Gold Lion Gear Aluminum Carabiner with Lock has truly exceeded my expectations. Its compact 3-inch size makes it incredibly versatile for various applications, from securing gear during outdoor activities to organizing keys and accessories. The aluminum construction ensures durability without adding unnecessary weight, and the locking mechanism provides an extra layer of security, giving me peace of mind. The sleek design and smooth finish make it easy to handle, and the gate opens and closes seamlessly. Whether I’m hiking, camping, or just everyday use, this carabiner has become an essential tool in my daily routine. It’s a reliable and well-crafted product that I highly recommend for anyone in need of a sturdy and compact carabiner.
I’ve been using these carabiners in a wind-barrier system that takes a pounding here in the winter (in the Laramie Range, we get 70mph+ winds at least once every two weeks during winter). They’ve held up well. I was surprised to see the manufacturer say “holds up to 10lbs” on the Amazon page….because I believe, through empirical evidence, they can hold more. A 304-stainless steel aircraft cable rated at 180lbs working tension broke in my wind barrier system last winter and these carabiners did not. Anyway, I’ve been happy with their performance.
A bit heavy but nicely designed and well-made and finished, I would buy them agai
Purchased for our trip to Hawaii. Used to hold multiple water bottles to clip to our backpack during hikes.
I wasn’t sure what I needed to carry to transport during OTS. These helped a tremendous amount, as they are strong and didn’t break away at all.
good quality carabiners to attach small things together. I use them in junction with luggage straps to extend the straps and clip them on hooks.
Used on rucksacks and secure loose rucksacks to suitcases whilst travelling good product for the price
I’ve had these now for over a year, and subject to a few outdoor excursions with no signs of rust. The tightening mechanism is so smooth- almost too smooth- that with a simple touch can loosen itself. I would prefer it to be a bit tighter that it stays locked. However, for the price and overall quality a great value.
After having lost my keys once to regular carabineers. After getting these new ones that have a simple twist lock to easily open and close, have made things better. After using the same one for a few years the clip part doesn’t stay close anymore, but once its locked it stays locked and it offers a tight fit. Only downside it that it is a little big bigger but you’ll get used to it.
Not rated for climbing! I use them as an attachment point for tools and to connect dog leashes. They are also great for holding smaller items like rings, spring clips etc.
Quality and durable carabiner with a twist lock feature. It locks well but some people might not like the twist lock. Hasn’t bent or had much wear and tear after so much use.
These have been great for my car keys, etc.
It’s lasted for a long time but it’s finally starting to fail as the pin holding the movable arm in place has worn down over the years from the lock screw that slides up and down. So now it falls below that pin.
It’s still usable but because it falls below that pin the arm is able to go backwards, open up, and I’ve had it fall off my belt loop.
Good thing it came with four more 8]
So far these are great. Light, they lock good, comes with 10 rings and 5 carabiners which is nice considering price. The only slight issue so far is the threads on the locking mechanism. They can be finicky at some points. But other than that, they’re good so far. Can’t wait to see how they hold up.
La virole qui permet de visser le mousqueton est un peu grosse, j’ai finit par l’enlever…
I’ve used them on my bird line to suspend bird feeders 15ft up. 3 years installed.
I’ve used them on my koi pond to support the koi net panels. 3 years installed.
I’ve used them on my string lights to suspend them in place. 2 years installed.
In winter I use them with sandbags to secure the winter pool cover.2 seasons installed.
Most recently I bought a set to secure the rope for the winter pool pillow. (Will install this winter).
The only con, very minor, is they turn golden after about a year of sunlight. But they hold enough weight to be extremely versatile.
I have about 500 Keychain rings I’ll never use. But VERY happy with these.
Great for multiple keys.
Great for many different sets of keys.
Easy to take on and off
I decided to go the empty pocket route and bought a set of these to carry all my keys. I also got some quick-connects so I can simply pop them off when needed and not have to fiddle with this on my belt loop. Wish I thought of this years ago – no more misplacing of losing keys or having the extra bulk in my pocket. These are of high quality and I like the threaded locking mechanism.
Perfect for the job of keeping a Hudini dog in.
I bought these Gold Lion Gear Aluminum Carabiners D Shape Buckle Pack Key Chain clips to use as an extra safety lock for my back yard gate latch. Before I had a fence across the back portion of my back yard people were walking at night would come up on my porch and smoke a cigarette and toss the butt on my small patio, and some would try to steal my patio umbrella. So I got tired of strangers coming at 2:00 am on my back porch by my bedroom window I called a company that puts fences up and had one put up across the back section on my back yard. Now I can keep my patio umbrella out along with my patio chairs without someone trying to take them. With the latch for the gate this fits perfectly into the open space for a pad lock, and I have a more secured locked fence now. They come in a 5 pack so I have extras for something else. These are strictly for key chains or hanging a small bag on your belt, for hanging plants outside etc. You can probably use them to help grab two plastic grocery bags together after grocery shopping to carry them into your house.
I had an old faithful carbiner that I held on to for nearly 20 years. It was just like an old friend. Over the many years it developed scratches and finally it was just solid silver ( it was originally black) Finally though the weak link with it was the spring hinge would easily lose my keys when grabbing in my pocket. After 4 of these occurrences, it was time to retire my old friend. I only needed one, but I got five!. These are well made and the best part is that the locking mechanism prevents the lost keys from happening again. Even with the minimal time I’ve had this its already developing those scratches in the coating, that’s a positive for me, but may not be for others..
Pros :
1. locking mechanism to prevent lost keys from weak springs
2. 5 pack
3. Just the right size.
Cons :
1. Not for me, but if you want this thing to stay black.. it wont. But I say just enjoy the wear it develops.
