The Blackbirds really enjoy fat balls but were struggling to cling onto my smaller fat ball holder so thought I’d try this. The Pigeon can still get its head in but only just and has to work at it so gets fed up and leaves. Meanwhile happy Blackbirds and smaller birds get their turn, so overall its a success.
Great product. All the wee birds can feed in peCe and safety without crows pigeons and magpies stealing their food

I brought this in the knowledge that the smaller birds would be able to finally get some fat balls, but NO IVE HAD MAGPIES, ROOKS CROWS SQUIRRELS RAVENS ENJOYING THE FATB BALLS I PUT IN THEM.
SO IF YOU DONT MIND ALL BIRDS & SWURRELS ENJOYING THIS BIRD FEEDER THEN BUY IT. IF YOU JUST WANT TO FEED THE SMALLER BIRDS , I WOULD GIVE IT A MISS AND BUT THE ONE THAT SPRINGS UP IF A SQUIRREL OR LARGE BIRD TRIES TO FEED FROM IT.
We were bothered with crows but this item successfully keeps them at bay. Good service all round too.
This is the second type of these feeders that I have purchased. They really are squirrel-proof.
Our frequent visitors keeping surrounding the feeder, trying to suss it out, but so far they go away puzzled and empty pawed. The birds, however, do feed from them as normal.
This feeder allowed the little birds to access the fat balls without being driven off by larger birds who also had been eating the fat balls at a rapid rate of knots.
