The game is a classic and a guarantee for fun nights but lacks volume of cards for the price.
Brilliant game, great fun for all ages over around 8. For the children we allow them to use one of the ‘taboo’ words – works really well.
Horrible design BUT great game. I wish there were more cards.
Unable to review as this was a gift purchased from a wish lis
Packaging is nice, not too big. And rules are easy and clear.
I really recomend this game for all ages.
Very good game and fun to play with couples or friends. You get very competitive playing this game and it can be stressful but watching others play is hilarious!
I usually play this game with adults and have a blast with it! But to my surprise, I also played this with children above the age of 10 and they were so good at playing this game. This is a great game to help younger children learn different synonyms they can use for some words. But overall, the best game ever, you will find it very hard to stay quiet.
If you are not a trivail pursuit/table-quiz fan then this game is for you! A whole different thinking and fun with this word game. Brings a lot of laughter to the table as inner dialouge is revealed in trying to describe words….. one for all the family. And, unbekownst to the young ones, they are actually learning while laughing!
I have been playing this game in the Italian version for the past 15 years, and this edition matches my expectations. The packaging is solid, and the provided items on the inside are updated from the previous versions.
Brilliant game, super fun. This is the 2013 version with cards, die, card holder, scoring pad, squeaker and sand timer. Great for parties and family gatherings. You will be amazed to see how innovative people can get while playing this
Bought this for a family holiday (all adults); it was great fun! Some words were harder than others and we got very creative at describing them. Thought provoking and at times hilarious.
Such a fun game to play between a couple or with a group. Be prepared to laugh at how much fun you’ll have seeing your family members trying to describe words when they can’t use the easiest words to describe.
This is a fun game which we play our way i.e. everyone gets to guess the word being described and we don’t keep score this way everyone plays all the time and it is a good laugh. There are US & UK versions of this game.
Excellent game to play with friends. But the version I received is the American version, not British that’s why I give it 4 stars. The box cover is different too, mine says “made in US” on the lower right corner. Apart from this, strongly recommended, this game never gets old.
This met all my expectations it arrived swiftly and in very good condition. This game is a lot of fun for anyone, I played with friends from university. there were a lot of laughs but a fall out did occur; so if you are looking to make and break friendships this is the game for you.
Some words I would class as more American than British but apart from that it’s great! Bought it as a gift for someone who thinks nothing is taboo and they loved it! The game has different variations/rules so it can be played over and over without getting boring!
Very fun but very hard game! Even harder after a few drinks! Similar game to the one played on four christmases! only problem is the button has a strange smell? Came before due date and in perfect conditio
We really enjoyed the game but adapted it so we were not using the buzzer . In a more relaxed atmosphere we trusted each person not to use the specific words etc. good fun had more than an hour relaxing and laughing
We bought Taboo to take away on holiday with us. With four in a camper an we needed something to do! It was brilliant. What a laugh we had and no t.v. Was watched for the full two weeks! Love it.
Had a brilliant afternoon playing this game today. I was looking for something I could engage my 13 and 15yr olds with and get them off the internet for a few hours, so we played, two teams of two, and it got very heated but was so much fun!
Two sets of cards with four words/terms to be guessed on each, and a list of associated words that are taboo.
With the egg timer running one team member has to describe the guess word to his other team member, without accidentally mentioning one of the taboo words, no gesturing, no “sounds like” no mentioning part of the word. If you succeed and the egg timer is still going, grab another card and continue. Then the other team takes their turn.
We got through one whole set of guess words, which means potentially there’s only likely to be 3 more games playable before the set becomes redundant but for the price paid and the amount of fun we had, I think it was well worth it!
This was obviously an American product so some of the words and phrases were quite easy to guess. E.g. Dummy – baby and suck weren’t taboo and Graduation – University and degree weren’t taboo.
Aside from this it’s an excellent addition to our games night cupboard.
This game was a great purchase and great fun over Christmas with family and friends, worked out a nice icebreaker for neighbours who hadn’t met others before too. Ages playing ranged from 12 to 63 and fun for all!
