Only had for 3 months and its flickering, tried everything but it just flickers like an old TV. Disappointed as I used this to help me stream.
13.6.23 – I got in touch with the company, who was very helpful and kind. They sent me out a replacement device. Like I said, it works great and I’m glad I have a new one to continue streaming with, definitely deserves more stars than 5!
Thank you!
excellent service product arrived before due date and worked immediately no hassle.
I have approx 30m run of HDMI and tried about 7 hdmi hubs over the years, all failed miserably. Not this one! Works great sound and image all great and not dropped a single frame! Don’t hesitate to buy!
was able to capture ps3 with a capture card in hdmi , still use red/white analog for audio sadly
Excellent piece of kit, using it to watch films on two TV’s supplied from a sky box, no drop in sound or signal
Worth the money
It’s a great product but wasn’t what I needed. This will duplicate a single feed but cannot be used to display an additional monitor from a single output.
Did the job, the input went into the sky box and the 2 outputs worked both back to back tvs with 2 HDMI cables. You have to watch the same on both tvs, very easy set up, plug in and go
I’m using this with my Elgato HD60 Pro so I don’t have to deal with the terrible passthrough from that for my Switch.
The best part about this setup is that the splitter doesn’t even require a power source! Or maybe that’s just for 4K. Anyway, the colours and latency seem good, so not many complaints from me. Other devices see it weirdly though, as it’s kinda acting as a virtual monitor with 2 outputs. For example, changing your RGB colour range doesn’t make your monitor refresh.
I can use both screens well. One is 4K and one is 1080p and I have no issue.
I bought this to be able to watch my cable TV on either of the downstairs TVs. It works really well, including with 4k over a 5m HDMI cable.
There is a brief (1-5s) blackout if watching the cable on one TV and the other is turned on – presumably this is as it works out the right TV parameters. But this is obviously only occasional. Generally I’m delighted with this.
This is actually a switchable HDMI. Not a full splitter. Took me a while to figure this out. Bought another one to replace this
This splitter works as intended, only problem I had was the connection for the power seems loose – the cable doesn’t feel secure when inserted.
We watch various TV channels via Virgin Media (VM), the VM cable enters the house via our lounge. Whilst renovating the kitchen and lounge, decided we also wanted to watch VM TV channels in our kitchen but didn’t want to pay for an additional box from Virgin. This great little device solved the problem. We ran a new HDMI cable from the lounge to the kitchen and plugged into the kitchen TV. You then connect up both TV’s HDMI cables and the VM TV box to this device. Device then splits the signal from the VM box to both TV’s, both sound and picture quality is great (I presume the quality of the HDMI cable will also aid in this). One point to note, this splits the signal, therefore you need to watch the same TV channel on both TV’s. If you want to watch separate TV shows, you will need a different solution. This device is also very compact which was a welcome bonus but does require it’s own power source (supplied in the box). Whilst we use Virgin Media, I can’t see any reason why this won’t work for another TV source (such as Sky etc).
This is a good splitter for what you’re paying. I’ve used it to split my Ps4 & Nintendo switch hdmi signals into a separate capture card. I’ve also used it to split a Hdmi signal from my PC into a capture card on a separate streaming rig. The only issues I’ve run into is if you are splitting a signal from an Nvidia Graphics card and one output supports audio but the other does not (for example, to a hdmi monitor with no speakers and a HDMI capture card) you will get no audio source in Windows and no audio output. You also need to make sure you power the splitter using a micro USB cable, especially for playstations or you won’t get a signal. The socket for the micro USB cable is flimsy and a bit deep into the casing which makes it hard do plug in. Overall its a good solid splitter, good image, no noticeable delay or drop in quality.
Ideal for watching cctv on main tv & cctv on smaller tv but both have to be powered up & switched on if you’re only wanting the smaller screen on ,can’t comment on sound not using i
Unit stays cool in operation and works as described. Only issue I found was that the end device reported back to the host device alters as you plug in additional connections. Since my computer remembers default 2 screen settings on a per HDMI device basis this meant that adding an additional monitor caused the layout to change unexpectedly. Only a small annoyance though.
Enables me to get satellite output, recordings and streams in the kitchen, bedroom as well as the lounge. Use good quality HDMI leads, although these are less easy to thread round the house than the RF aerial lead I previously used. HDMI cables are not flexible and have prugs permanently connected, so you need 20×14 mm holes through any walls. I take power from Freesat USB port. One off payment instead of monthly for Multiroom, but I have to go to the lounge to change channel. Note, not only do all TVs show the same channel, all TVs have to have the same format as the outputs are identical. e.g. if your main TV is 4K , I suspect you have to run it as HD if the others are not also 4K.
I bought this in order to connect three TV screens showing the same output across all of them. It works fine for my needs and I power the splitter with a USB to laptop lead. Beware that if you have connection issues it could be because one of the HDMI leads has come out of the splitter because of movement (this happened to me but luckily I spotted it after about ten minutes of scratching my head).
Unusually, I haven’t added a picture because it’s in use and doesn’t add much value to the review anyway!
I ordered this with a little hesitation thinking that this little box just isn’t going to be able to output as it’s described. Wrong! It’s brilliant.
Connected the input, the power lead, the outputs and switched on. (the plug doesn’t come with it but a general USB charge plug does the job perfectly – I used a spare Amazon charger)
Job done! Perfect output, fully synchronised in great quality.
Now able to run the 4k Firestick on the projector and two large screens.
A superb solution and excellent value for money.
This is a good item! But please, if you’re not great at tech just like I am but want to find a way to use two monitors on your PC with only one HDMI slot, DO NOT BUY THIS! You want to get a *USB to HDMI* adaptor. There is nothing wrong with this item, I’m definitely going to use it as it’s still super useful – just not for the reasons I bought it for. I was told that a splitter would “do just fine” from a computer savvy friend of mine, but as it turns out… Nope! This just duplicates the screen onto two monitors. I’ll have to wait for another delivery to be able to grind my MMO and watch TV or use Chrome on the side, please don’t make the same mistake as me 😛
TLDR, don’t be dumb like me if you want this for dual-monitor PC shenanigans, get a USB adaptor instead.
I decided to pick one of these splitters up a while ago because I was trying to edit some videos from a capture card.
Unfortunately my laptop screen was too small, so it made using it as my primary screen almost impossible to accurately control what I was doing.
While I was browsing through Amazon and eBay, I came across this product which was exactly what I was looking for to make my job so much easier, as I could split the display perfectly.
Now instead of struggling to record my screen output through my capture card and edit on my 13″ MacBook, I can also mirror my original output through my large display.
It also came with a short HDMI cable and usb power lead so it’s perfect to power through any spare USB port on either the tv or computer.
If you want to expand e.g. from one satellite or cable box out to 3 tv’s you can – easily! I have had no problems using mine from an AV Receiver to 2 TV’s. I haven’t got a 3rd TV to test it but, may in the future hence the extra port. It’s so easy, turn off everything …. then, you connect the HDMI IN (next to the power in … single HDMI port) via the HDMI lead included to the set top box out … then plug your TV HDMI to one of the 3 HDMI OUT ports – then plug it in to the mains and turn on … worked perfectly for me first time.
Occasionally have to do meetings and training sessions where I need to quickly set up whatever display/projector setup works for the room. Useful thing to have in my bag for whatever situation, as well as some HDMI cables and power extension leads, so I can position projector/displays where they are needed.
Very simple to use – connect the input cable from your laptop, then the other two cables to the displays/projector, then connect the USB cable for power.
Sometimes when setting up, the sound only comes out of one of the two displays, but I correct this by unplugging the monitor with sound and plugging it back in again, then setting PC to use this device as sound output. (Your computer will only “recognise” one of the two displays, so you need to set the sound output to this if that’s what you want.)
Amazing results. Extremely clear pictures on both TVs. No loss in the quality whatsoever. Very pleased. This was my initial feedback earlier. However, since then the unit developed an intermittent fault, which meant I very briefly lost the picture on my second TV. Sadly, it started to happen more and more frequently. Hence, just the four stars.
So I contacted the seller, who quickly sent out an updated version to replace it, absolutely free of charge. It’s very early days with the new version but I’ve had no picture drop outs yet. Very pleased with the resolution provided.
