This little screwdriver is surprisingly useful. It is small and lightweight but is handy and has a lot of power. The provided screwdriver bits are about 3″ long which makes them very useful and the selection of bits is handy. The screwdriver provides selection of torque ranges to make the driver more efficient. The case is well thought out and constructed of a lightweight metal that should protect the tool and bits for ever. The top of the case locks onto the base with a simple twist of the wrist and will keep bits from getting lost. I am impressed with this set and frankly I use it all the time. The tool and selection of bits allow for a variety of jobs in a convenient package.
Now I am writing this review after almost one year of owning this screwdriver. Before I get into the reason for my rating (which will be revised once my support ticket is dealt with) I want to make it clear that before this screwdriver just dropping dead all of a sudden, it was my amazing!!! and I recommended it to everyone I know.
So after owning this for 10 months and using it rather frequently as I like to tinker with tech. The battery wont output or even recognize as being there anymore. I was using the screwdriver to take out the 4 screws for my PSU when I put it down took it out and went to install my new PSU…. Low and behold the screwdriver just wont turn on. Now I fully charged it prior to taking my PSU out so I knew it was fully charged but seemed weird so I plugged it back in thinking maybe its dead… somehow…. My charge cable shows 0 watts going into the device showing that the battery is no longer working.
Now I have heard alot of horror stories of how Hoto just flat out wont warranty your product if bought through amazon. So I will keep this review updated as I keep hearing back from Hoto about my support claim.
UPDATE!!!
After reaching you to Hoto tools on amazon I was asked to provide video proof of the screwdriver not working. Which did become a little difficult as amazon does not allow you to upload videos larger than 10MB. So I had to upload it my video to youtube/google drive. However after they had reviewed the video I was informed that I would be getting a brand new one sent out that should arrive in 5 days. No need to send back the old dead screwdriver either.
Well after 2 days the screwdriver arrived in the mail. They had sent be a brand new sealed in box one. So thank you HOTO TOOLS for the extra carry case, bits, and an upgraded model of the screwdriver!!!
It is rather apparent that the model that I bought last year isnt in production as the gears feel different, the feel is different, and the screwdriver is much more responsive.
All in all amazing experience from an already incredible screwdriver. I was already highly recommending this screwdriver to everyone I know and after this experience I will continue doing so.
At first I wasn’t too sure about this, but after using it for a while I love it! This electric screwdriver is easy to use and has great battery life. I’m a 65-year-old woman and I always let my husband do stuff like putting furniture together. He is no longer able to do it, so I tried it using this screwdriver. So far I’ve put together a dresser and two end tables, and this tool made it a breeze! I just had to learn to keep a firm grip on it and then I had no problems.
Elegant, clean and minimalistic design, just like all HOTO tools. Over all it is great little tool for what is design for, plenty of adjustable torque, LED light, unique case holder with some most common bits.
No USB power adapter (tuned to the tool) makes it bit pricey if it is not on special.
Very compact and just a great tool set overall! Must have!
Works like a charm. Well made. Compact easy to store design. Love this item.
I bought this to build a computer. Very powerful and easy to use. I have been using it as my go screw driver for electrical and electronic repair needs. I would recommend this driver for most of your hobby or repair needs.
There isn’t a screw this can’t handle. Long screws. Short screws. Even those pesky sticky screws are no match for this. I don’t think there is a screw style this can’t handle.
This small kit is done beautifully. Very elegant as seem to work nicely, but I have not pit it to use yet, but will let you know.
I got so tired of carrying my power drill everywhere. with an 18v battery it was too heavy and loud for stuff like light switch replacements. I wanted something smaller and didnt need much power at all. This thing fits the bill perfectly. I can do so many quick tasks with it, and it surprisingly has enough power to drill some anchors into drywall. I with the sound was a little less high pitched, but overall its sleek and effective.
I loved the concept of an electric screwdriver. After using it I don’t ever want to go back to a regular screw driver. Makes building furniture so convenient. Always start on the first setting so you don’t over screw things.
This could be an ornament or piece of art, so can be placed close to hand. Works better than expected.
I bought this screwdriver for a project I was doing. I needed a small lightweight electric screwdriver because the project had a lot of screws that needed to be screwed in and I didn’t want to use a manual one. I bought it mainly because of the reviews and the simple elegance to it. When It arrived I was shocked! The first thing that came to mind to describe this tool is “If Apple was to make an electric screwdriver, this is what it would be”. The build quality on this is very impressive, the simplicity of the design is very Apple like. The case design is ingenious. It is a very well though out product. There is one rocker button for forward and reverse, a turn knob at the top for on/off and torque setting (of which there are three choices) and a USB-C port at the bottom end for charging, that’s it. No unnecessary buttons, knobs or extra features, just plain, simple design.
So how does it work? I used it on my project and was very happy with it. It has a lot more torque than I though it would. If I had to pick a negative point on this product it would be that it has so much torque it spins the screwdriver out of your hand when your done screwing something in. Unlike a drill, which when it reaches it torque limit makes a grinding sound to let you know it doesn’t have enough torque to continue turning the screw or drill bit, this has so much torque on the lowest setting it spins the screwdriver out of your hand when you reach the end. The battery seemed to last a long time, I never ran out of power on my project and used it quite a bit. it has a nice assortment of bits that come with it and they seem to be good quality as well. The case is a metal cylinder, in which the bottom holds the bits in the outer part and the center holds the tool itself. A metal cylinder sleeve fits over it and locks into place by turning it. This is the best built, simplest design I have ever seen (again, very Apple like). I would highly recommend this product to anyone wanting a high quality, easy to use electric screwdriver.
Was going back and forth on this since I first saw it after searching for a E-screwdriver. My uses will be mostly small electronics so I couldn’t decide on this or one of the many many “mini” E-screwdrivers. Worried maybe this was to big? Nope, this is perfect for PC’s and A/V equipment.
Also noticed the torque ratings as you shop, you’ll see this one is way beyond the mini’s, for obvious reasons, but I think this could really hold you back. This thing is AWESOME. I got mine on sale but it’s worth it either way.
Pros:
-The torque compared to other handhelds is tops. Again don’t discount this or you’ll be electrically unscrewing screws you had to start manually!
-It will accept normal drill bits.
-Has a brake (you can turn it like a normal screwdriver -important-)
-forward/reverse
-some find the “ergonomics” to be bad but is the screwdriver you’ve used for last 30 years not same or worse? It’s a cylinder.
-feels very well made.
-it’s AWESOME
cons:
I didn’t have this 15 years ago.
Pros:
-A surprising amount of Torque
-The tool bits are actually great quality. I don’t think enough people mention this.
-The LED’s are useful and auto shut-off to save battery.
-The aluminum carry tube is a nice touch.
-Grip is perfect. Nice and Girthy … ( )
-Stops on a dime
-Doesn’t heat up
-Fairly quiet for an electric motor like this
-Long battery life
-USB-C charging
-Tool doesn’t look like a weapon from Power Rangers. You can tell HOTO put a lot of thought into the design and ascetics for this tool. It performs and looks fantastic. It’s as if Apple designed a screw driver but decided to sell it at a fair price (Apple Pro Stand *cough*Cough*)
Cons
-I wish I could leave the LED’s on as a flashlight, but honestly I’m nit picking this con. It’s not meant to be a flashlight after all. But it would be nice.
-Product says its light weight, no its not lol. It’s not 100 pounds or 50 Kilos or anything, but its not ultra light or anything amazing. You don’t hold it in your hand thinking “Oh…its so light.” Not really a con in my book, but it might be a deal breaker for someone else. I think the marketing department went a little overboard here, but that’s nothing new with tool advertising.
-Non removable battery – Really HOTO? Why? _
-No waterproof/resistant rating. This isn’t advertised as a heavy duty tool for industry, but it would be nice to have some peace of mind if it ever got wet if you’re a field tech working outside.
-Spins at 180ish RPM, not 220. Eh… close enough. lol
-Advertising 5N.m of force when the photo shows max of 4N.m (don’t worry, we’ll just blame the marketing department again).
General Opinion:
Overall its a great tool. The only issue with this tool is a non-removable battery. Not the end of the world, I can take this apart and it looks like the tool uses a 18650 battery. The marketing for this is a little crazy as I mentioned in my Cons, but not nearly as bad as other tool companies. If I had to buy another one I would, without hesitation. In fact I’m buying more as gifts. Hopefully that answers if I would recommend this product.
Anyways thanks for reading, y’all have a great day now.
Worth the money much easier than a drill perfect DIY accessory for the g works & guys who do for self
The HOTO Electric Screwdriver, 3.6V Cordless Screwdriver Set, is a compact and convenient tool that has become a valuable addition to my toolbox. This nifty little gadget has made my DIY projects and household repairs a breeze.
First off, let’s talk about the design. The HOTO Electric Screwdriver is lightweight and ergonomically designed, making it comfortable to hold and easy to maneuver. Its compact size allows for precise control and access to tight spaces where traditional screwdrivers may struggle.
The cordless feature adds to its convenience. With no cords to worry about, I can move around freely without any limitations. The 3.6V lithium-ion battery provides a decent amount of power for most household tasks, allowing me to tackle various screwdriving jobs without the hassle of manual effort.
Using the HOTO Electric Screwdriver is a breeze. The one-button operation makes it incredibly simple to use—just press the button to rotate the bit either clockwise or counterclockwise. The built-in LED light is a helpful addition, illuminating the work area and ensuring visibility in dimly lit spaces.
The screwdriver set comes with a variety of different bits, which is great for handling different types of screws. The magnetic holder securely holds the bits in place, preventing them from falling or getting lost during operation. The set also includes a convenient storage case to keep everything organized and easily accessible.
In terms of performance, the HOTO Electric Screwdriver handles most light to medium-duty tasks with ease. It works well for assembling furniture, fixing appliances, installing light fixtures, and other common household repairs. However, for heavier-duty projects or driving larger screws, it may not have enough torque or power.
The battery life of the screwdriver is decent but not outstanding. It lasts for a reasonable amount of time on a single charge, but it’s always a good idea to keep it charged up for uninterrupted use. The charging time is relatively quick, so you won’t have to wait too long before getting back to your projects.
While the HOTO Electric Screwdriver is a handy tool overall, there are a few areas that could be improved. The torque could be a bit stronger to handle tougher tasks, and the battery life could be extended for more prolonged use. Additionally, the construction feels a bit lightweight and may not be as durable as higher-end models.
For me, the HOTO Electric Screwdriver, 3.6V Cordless Screwdriver Set, is a handy companion for quick and easy fixings around the house. It offers convenience, portability, and ease of use, making it suitable for light to medium-duty screwdriving tasks. While it may have some limitations in terms of power and durability, it gets the job done efficiently. If you’re looking for an affordable and practical electric screwdriver for your everyday household needs, the HOTO Electric Screwdriver is definitely worth considering.
This is a great medium powered screwdriver, for really heavy duty work you may want more grip and torque but for around the house and flatpack assembly it is convenient and powerful to use. Not great for really fiddly work but that makes it better for medium sized jobs. For the price it is really good.
The screwdriver is really well made, absolutely solid and the bits are fantastic quality. The magnetic isn’t very strong so don’t expect it to pick screws up from somewhere and there is little difference between the torque settings. I think I’d rather have them as speed instead of torque.
No small bits so don’t expect to be able to use it on laptops or phones but perfect for servers, PCs, general bolts and screws.
he fact that this is all housed in one nifty tube is amazing and all the different heads are fantastic. There are three torque speeds for all your screwdriver needs and charges via USB-C, what more could you want? The cable that is supplied for charging is very short however it will still do the job. I imagine most people will have a longer USB-C cable lying around the house anyways.
It also looks really sleek and sexy. It currently sits on my PC desk (which is very clean and minimalistic and this doesn’t look out of place at all. It could pass as a fancy water bottle in how it looks.
The actual screwdriver itself is ideally sized, I imagine there might be cases where it is tricky to reach the screw however for those odd occasions, you wouldn’t be mad this doesn’t reach.
It is an absolute steal at 40% off at the moment so grab a bargain while you can.
