My Dad asked me to find him a new bird feeder as his current one was plastic and allowing the rain causing the food to go mouldy. His only specifics were that the food was covered somehow- this feeder more than delivers. It’s practical but also very pretty, the solar light can be turned off if needs be.
The pictures are shown on the windowsill within hours of each other and it was charged.
It was so well received that I received a request the next day to buy a 2nd one. His Grandsons had seen it and requested one for their garden at home.
So I bought two of these feeders a few weeks ago and I was really pleased with them – great quality for the price and they looked very pretty lit up at night. I filled them with peanut granules and they were a hit with all the birds and our resident squirrels. All was going well until today when I walked out into the garden and found one of the aforementioned squirrels had got one of his back feet stuck in one of the holes and couldn’t free himself. He was understandably very distressed and even more so when I was trying to free him as he didn’t understand I meant him no harm. Luckily I did manage to dislodge his foot from the inside of the feeder and he shot off like a rocket. He didn’t stay away for long, so thankfully he seems to have got through the ordeal unscathed, but unfortunately there’s no way I can continue to use the feeders now. So in conclusion I would definitely not purchase any of these if squirrels visit your garden, but if it’s only birds that will be feeding from them I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Product seems study and well made, the sparrows have no problems emptying it out as quickly as they can.
I really appreciate the warm glow it gives off, it creates a more comforting feeling than the bright white solar lights.

Needed a new much sturdier bird feeder after a crow found a way to get into the old one. This one also looks good & the solar powered lid adds a nice touch. So far the crow hasn’t managed to break it so fingers crossed it lasts!
