How to measure your garden tap?

There are multiple garden tap sizes and Hozelock offers a tap connector for every size, but which is the right one for your tap? Measuring your tap and buying the correct tap adapter can be confusing, as the measurement used is sized according to the standard British Standard Pipe, also known as BSP. This measurement refers to the size of the internal diameter of the pipe. So when you measure the outside diameter of your tap’s thread this doesn’t correspond to the BSP – refer to our handy conversion guide to ensure you purchase the correct connector.

I recently purchased the Hozelock Indoor Tap Connector for my modern kitchen, and I must say, it’s been a real game-changer. My kitchen tap, like many newer models, lacks the traditional threading that most connectors are designed for. This Hozelock connector, however, has proved to be the perfect solution.

The adjustable stainless steel collar is a fantastic feature. It allows me to customize the fit for my tap’s unique size, which falls between 20mm and 24mm. The build quality of the connector is impressive — the stainless steel not only looks sleek and modern, but it also feels robust and durable. It’s clear that Hozelock put thought into ensuring a tight and secure connection, which is essential to prevent leaks and wastage.

The setup was incredibly straightforward. The easy-to-follow instructions made installation a breeze, and I had the connector up and running within minutes. The tight connection to the tap is reassuring, and it doesn’t budge during use. I’ve been using it for a while now, and I’m happy to report that there have been no leaks or issues whatsoever.

The only reason I’m not giving this connector a full five stars is that the price feels a tad steep for what it is. However, considering the convenience and hassle-free experience it offers, I’d say it’s worth the investment, especially if you’re dealing with threadless taps like I am.

In summary, if you’re facing the challenge of connecting a hose or other accessories to a modern threadless kitchen tap, the Hozelock Indoor Tap Connector is the answer you’ve been looking for. Its adjustable stainless steel collar, secure connection, and ease of use make it a worthwhile addition to any household. Just be prepared to pay a bit more for the convenience it provides.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis item does what is says but I can imagine people returning it saying it doesn’t fit. It is very tight on some taps. The reason is, is that it has very stiff plastic where the tap fits in. The trick is to put the connector upside down in very hot water, leave for 2 minutes then put on tap. The plastic softens but then as it cools on the tap it grips it. I would say it is reasonable value as there is not much else out there.

Nice and easy to use, get a little dribble sometimes but if you take off and re attach a bit tighter it generally stops. I was struggling to find one that would suit my tap as it’s got a pull out bit on it but this works fine

We didn’t have outside tap in our new house (I know, barbaric..) so got that and it’s really good. It’s for a mixer tap so pay attention what you are buying it for. It was great to fill in children’s paddling pool (no more ice cold water only )

I worried that this would come straight off as soon as I turned on the tap. I’ve seen other say they have to hold theirs in place during use. This wasn’t the case at all! I can put my mixer taps on full blast and fill the paddling pool to a nice warm temperature and it stays in place perfectly. So happy I got this! It saves me having the hand fill the pool with buckets of hot water to try warm the pool up

Make sure you get the good size for the intended purpose. It was bot my case (doesn’t fit on kitchen tap) so I had to order another one. Otherwise good quality, plugs on any other product from the same brand

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFits the tap well but needs a good push to get a tight seal. Hose clips on and off easily. Make sure you tighten it well. Unfortunately you have to turn the hose on/off from the tap, otherwise the pressure builds up and it pops off the tap shooting water everywhere. Our tap is easily reachable from the garden through the window but could be a problem for people that don’t have the same access.

I’ve been using a bucket system to fill my son’s pool for the past few years. I decided to look for an adapter for the indoor tap so I can run the water directly to the pool. This adapter works really well on the kitchen tap. Doesn’t fit the tap in the utility room unfortunately. It was a little tight when trying to get on the tap but not impossible. I’ll still have to use buckets to empty the pool into my water butt for reuse, but at least this has cut the workload in half.

4.0 out of 5 stars Making filling the kids pool a doddle!
