This mouse is a very sleek but big enough to use in place of a main pc mouse if needed. Simple usb wireless connectivity and requires one AAA battery. Fits in the laptop bag nicely without creating too much of a bump in the bag. No messy wires to wrap up.
I originally bought one of these to skeptically try it after years with wired mice… 5 years on, I have one for all my computers/laptops.
Battery life is so good that I find the one on my main Office Desktop needs changing only once a year, yet it is in use every day. Ergonomics are good, if not the very best, but more than adequate for general computing/graphics. For gaming it would probably be just adequate, but I would always recommend a fast-hardwired Ergo-mouse.
Yes they do eventually wear out, but to no greater extent than a wired mouse….. Recommended!
Ergonomically the clicks are not very positive so it doesn’t feel that you have selected something. Highlighting and dragging often failed, so frustrating to use. In the end it stopped working. Felt plastically and cheap. So have gone back to a trusty Logitec. So all in all would not recommend.
The roller wheel does not feel very smooth at present, only time will tell but it installed first time with no issues. The only negative comment I would make compared to why previous product is that the mouse does not sleep when not in use, you need to remember to turn the mouse off to save on the batteries.
But operationally I have no issues with it at all.
The performance of the mouse is great, the wheel is a great feature and the two buttons provide a positive click when pressed. The only down size is its a smaller and shallow mouse so doesn’t fill your palm. Maybe it feels a little “incomplete” in your hand. That been said if it’s used as a travel mouse it’s great because it doesn’t take a lot of space in you laptop case. Overall I really like it, just being knit picky.
Positives –
it looks good with its sleek design..
it glides over the mouse mat smoothly..
left and right buttons are quiet..
plug in and go..
Negatives –
pictures are incorrect. Advertised having glossy buttons with mat black lower half. It’s actually all glossy.
finger prints are constantly visible on the all black version..
the wheel button in the centre is VERY loud if you want to scroll faster or push it, something to be aware of if you’re in a quiet environment..
Personal opinion –
changing from a standard mouse shape to this one took a few days to adjust. I no longer have the support for my palm area which I thought was going to be an issue. I’ve since got used to having my hand rest flatter. The mouse also feels very small but again, it’s something to get used to.
Overall, quite happy with it.. but I reckon I would opt for a more conventional mouse shape next time which isn’t in the near future.
I have just received the mouse and so have opened the package (not too overpackaged which is good – relatively easy to open).
A simple leaflet is enclosed with clear diagrams on how to install and get going.
It could not have been simpler, worked straight away.
When I first opened the package I thought the mouse looked a little ‘shiny’, but got over myself on that one, it’s fine, it’s not about to enter a beauty competition. 1st world problem etc.
I cannot comment on battery life as I have only just received the item, however, a plus that they include a battery in the packaging.
I do like the design feature of the usb ‘stick’ (which is very compact) being able to be kept inside the mouse, clever.
I like it, clever little design. If you do have large hands, the mouse may be a bit on the compact side, but I am regular female sized when it comes to hands, so is fine.
I noticed some comments on the wheel on the mouse, on first impressions it glides smoothly and is pretty seamless.
A very good mouse for the, price
Arrived quickly, was well packaged and looks nice. Works fine on my laptop using the little USB dongle, but unfortunately won’t work on anything else that does not have a USB port for the dongle – i.e. my iPad, which was the main reason that I bought this. Not sure why – it is. A Bluetooth device after all, but apparently it’s just not a thing that this mouse can do.
My own fault – I should have looked into it more before I pressed the ‘buy now’ button!
The packaging cannot be opened without taking severe damage, so I don’t really feel that it is in a suitable state to be returned so I suppose will now be my spare mouse for the laptop.
I was worried about buying this due to a top review complaining about faults over 2 mouses etc… But I’m really satisfied.
The mouse comes with a with HP standard 1 year limited warranty, so why the other reviewer decided to purchase another mouse or replacement parts is on them.
This is an easy to use mouse, just have a quick view on the simple instruction sheet.
For anyone who isn’t very tech savvy, you’ll feel comfortable setting up and using this stylish mouse.
The mouse works on every surface I’ve tried; Table top, books, sofa arm. It performs perfect on each.
To help save the battery, remember to turn off your mouse after use with the simple switch of the power button underneath the mouse.
I use this mouse often and have not yet found one negative or performance impacting issue. I’m really satisfied.
Overall including the amazing price, fast delivery, comfort of use and all the above… I just have to recommend this product.
I think this is probably isolation speaking, but I have never been so impressed and excited to have a new computer mouse. It comes in lovely cardboard packaging which is easy to open – so you don’t have to fight some tough plastic with scissors that ends up slicing you as you try and break into the packaging.
The mouse itself looks really sleek. It feels extremely comfortable and ergonomic, fitting perfectly in my hand. I think it being more flat/level than what you imagine of a generic mouse is why it is so comfortable to use – you aren’t having to arch your hand at all, it just rests on top. There was no delay in connecting the mouse to your computer, after having inserted the receiver and pressing the connect button on the bottom of the mouse, it was ready to use instantaneously.
I was a little confused at first as to how to open the mouse to insert the battery (that’s another thing – it comes with a battery provided! Products that require batteries never come with them anymore! It was a wonderful surprise!). The bottom half of the top of the mouse just lifts off, revealing where the battery lives and where the receiver can be housed when not in use. I’ve included a video so you can see.
All in all, this is a really wonderful mouse. Hey maybe I wouldn’t be so thrilled if it weren’t the most exciting thing to happen to me in 40 days, but I do love this mouse. So glad I purchased.
I used to use this Microsoft Wireless Mouse (4000) for my gaming/movie computer, but I got sick of it since it consumed batteries in like 3 months. So, I began searching for a wireless mouse with better battery life.
Besides the Microsoft mouse, I had so many Logitech mice, so I was looking for a mouse of different brand for keep stuff separate. Eventually, this HP mouse popped up, promising great battery life, but also being warned it was small. But I went and bought it anyway.
It’s a nice looking mouse, and the black/silver one stands out from my mostly white IKEA furniture and black PC.
Tracking is vast improvement over the Microsoft Mouse, it works well on IKEA tables and such. No more scraping and banging the Microsoft Mouse around, I tell you.
And yes, it’s small, though I don’t mind, since I don’t use it that extensively. I just use it to click open programmes and such. However, it’s pretty clear that if you are a adult man – with pretty big hands – it’s quite a bad idea to get this for intensive use. I think women and younger people might find this more usable for work.
As for battery life, I can’t say just yet, since I just started using it. But I’m fairly confident it will last.
