Spiners are small brass pieces of metal sticking out of the center of a better quality domino tile. They make it a lot easier to mix the tiles around when setting up each hand.
The picture on the lid implies that the dominoes inside the box have spinners, whereas they do not, as illustrated by my picture.
I have also discovered errors in the instruction book… it says that you use 6 dice to play Yahtzee… several misprints…
Great price, so many games, all in 1 box- great for storage and organisatio
A great compendium of games, really pleased with the quality of the components. Would recommend.
Very pleased with this compendium. The boards are robust and the pieces/counters brightly coloured. The ‘rules’ of the games are a bit sketchy however the internet can fill in when more information is required. I recommend.
These games was bought for our grandchildren for when they visit, to help stop them getting bored, We all play the games together and have plenty of fun, also the children have never heard of a lot of them so we find it very interesting explaining of how we used to play them back in the day. This set is very reasonably priced and is made of very sturdy materials for boards and counters etc. Well worth the money
Kids love this. Having so many games in one place is a great spcae saver.
Looks very durable and the boards are nice and thick. A little bit of weight to the counters/chess pieces which is nice (can’t expect much weight at this cheap price). Looks good value for money. Box was a little dinged in the corner as per picture, which is a shame as I’ll keep it in that for storage; but it’s still functional. Very much looking forward to games night with my 7 year old granddaughter!
What a terrific bargain for a compendium of traditional games. I was amazed at the quality of all the contents in this ” treasure box” of games- at such a great price. I paid more for one set of dominoes equal to the set included in this box. Do not be put off by the very low price- the quality of this product is superb and looks robust. Bought this to distract my 7 year old grandson from the games console when I look after him after school ( so really for my sanity!). Will have to read through the instructions as some of the games I have never even heard of but I hope he will enjoy good old fashioned board games. Really recommend this compendium.
I bought this as a gift for my young nephew but we all have fun playing it! It’s a great collection of many classic boardgames. The quality of the pieces is good especially considering the price. This is hours and hours of fun. It’s also great at teaching kids a variety of boardgames. I would definitely recommend buying this.
As I remembered having a games compendium as a child and that it proved ideal for family and friends to be included in games together I bought this item as a family present for my son and his family, carrying on a tradition. I`ve not opened the seal on the box so can`t judge the quality of the contents but based upon the size of box, the weight of it and the list of contents I think it should fit the bill for family entertainment. It`s my opinion that it could/should be a bit cheaper in cost but if the contents provide interest/fun for 2 or 3 years it could be worth the cost. Delivery was speedy and efficient. I like this product.
My husband and I have loved this games set during lockdown. You get a lot for your money here. Although it’s great how many games are in the box, the quality of the pieces isn’t wonderful. We were disappointed at all the plastic bits. The boards themselves are very basic. But then, it’s nice that it is lightweight and fits into one box.
Bought it for my 4 year old niece -helped her to quickly pick up numbers and also to understand winning/losing. Has been a great set for her play dates. It offers a lot to choose from but I dont think any one individual would know all the games in the pack. All the different boards and pieces are of good quality as well with clear pictures (a lot of other options were either too crowded with pictures or too many colours, ….) and also includes an instruction booklet for a variety of games.
Some of the games in the instruction leaflet are similar to other games, and some are not as much fun as others. But there is plenty of games for all ages and abilities. The best bit is that are no batteries required!
For the price, I am delighted with this box set and would happily recommend it.
Highly recommended!

We have only had this compendium just over a week and my children have already played a selection of the games including several which are new to them. It is a real delight watching them learning the skills for traditional low tech games with some real educational benefits.
They have already had their money’s worth and will continue to enjoy it for a long time to come.
The quality of the set is far from luxurious. There is alot of plastic, but there is so much crammed in, it is excellent value for less than 20
Really glad I got this. Was looking for a game of snakes and ladders, but this compendium contains that and much more. We wanted to get some simple, hands on traditional games and get away from so much computer and TV stuff for 4 year-old, and it really was good to play snakes and ladders on a wet Saturday. It created a lot of howling every time he went down a snake, and a few tantrums, but also some highs when he went up the ladders (and also won all 3 games!). More importantly it’s teaching him – patience, that life is full of ups and downs, some you win some you lose, and that there are good losers and bad losers! So although his Innotab is educational, this kind of game teaches them about life. Oh yes, and we can play chess when he’s in bed too!
