Very easy to use. One thing to bear in mind is orientation of sensor and laser. For instance, when close up to a long, thin heat source like a pipe, it is important to bear in mind orientation of the ‘gun’. Otherwise the temp sensor will not be reading the pipe despite the laser pointer falling on it.
As other reviewers point out, beep can become annoying!
I’m an appliance repair man, so use this pretty much daily for fridges, freezers, ovens, washing machines, dryers and dishwashers, basically anything with a heater in it. It’s accurate enough to pour a bath with (aim for 39C to get it hot but not scalding) and instantly tells me if an engine or appliance is doing as it is supposed to without burnt fingers or faffing about with probes. Can’t believe it was this cheap.
I have never owned a digital temperature gun prior to this so wasn’t sure what to expect but I needed one to check the temperature of wax melting to make candles, this gun fits my purpose perfectly. All you need to do is point and pull the trigger and you get an instant reading on the large display, it really couldn’t be easier.
The display is large and informative and the unit and handle are ergonomically designed for ease of use, I have had the SOVARCATE Digital Temperature Gun tested against a calibrated professional IR thermometer and it was spot on to within half a degree.
If you’re looking for an accurate temperature gun that won’t break the bank, give this one a try (I’m glad I did).
Good to check the temp of my wood burner camp stove, works on the bbq provided the outside surface is not shiny. I expect similar to apply to checking temperature on my espresso machine (a discreet spot of matt black paint should do the trick)
This is great and works really well but the instructions made it very confusing. I ended up watching a YouTube video instead. Apart from that it’s a gem of a product which seems to be super accurate every time!!
Unable to ascertain how accurate this is otherwise I’d have given it five stars on all counts. A great bit of kit. Used it to check the heat given off by my car’s engine and compare it to the temperature gauge. It’s good fun just checking the radiators in the house, had no idea they were so hot.
Good value, easy to use.
I bought it to help get the right temperature range to open an iPad for battery change: it was ideal for this.
The reproducibility of the readings is not great, but it got me in the right ballpark.
This piece of technology is fantastic and greatly increased my ability to gauge when to top up the fuel necessary to keep cooking at the correct temperature.
I used it for a pizza oven.
