Tried these as alternative to the Phillips Hue as they both work via Zigbee and a third of the price
They are very easy to set up and my wifi picks them up at the extremity of its operation
Probably not as well made as the Hue items and they look a little flimsy in the ground but they work and operate perfectly
Absolutely superb. Highlights the plants in the borders, makes the garden a special place at night. We’ll recommended.
Works with Philips Hue. Note that they work as a set, you can’t control individual lights. Nice quality. You will probably need to buy an extension cable.
These lights and all Innr lights (strip lights etc) no longer pair with Hue – be aware.
Well made and operates smoothlessly with Hue bridge. I use two lights to create a good highlight for a tree crown. My one grumble is that buying a single light add-on is not easy or comes at a ridiculous delivery cost.
The innr outdoor spotlights are great value for money. They ability to add upto five made it easy to really light up my garden and impress my friends.
A lot of garden lights seem to be just marker lights and not that good at illuminating any actual objects. These are much better – I have one aimed at a greenhouse and can see it clearly at night. The colour you choose affects visibility but white is very bright.
They’re very easy to install. They also pair very easily to my hue hub.
One caveat is that zigbee is a mesh network, so you need to install them in range of at least one other light.
I’ve gotten around this by installing another garden light at the top end of the garden, then this one at the bottom, the signal will hop from one to the other, and then a hue plug just inside the back door. So if you have signal issues, you kind of need to put more hops in. It does work.
The price is fairly steep at time of review but the product is solid and reliable, and bright. The colours are very vivid.
There are a total of 16 million colours available to choose from in the app. I only had time to try 14 million of them, so far, although I think I got the general idea. If I had to choose my favourite colour, I’d have to say that it was the default setting. Call me vanilla if you will. However, if I thought I heard a strange noise in my garden, I’d be far happier to get a clear view than to scan for intruders in one of 6000 shades of indigo.
If you already have the extra kit and are intent on having garden lights that can be operated by voice commands, these are certainly a lot more reasonable than the Phillips products. However, I wouldn’t personally have valued that enough to pay the still significant mark up vs ordinary garden lights- hence the star deduction. I have to question the psychology behind a need to give vocal orders to a machine, which are rarely prefixed nor suffixed by the word “please”. To me it speaks of some kind of slightly odd Napoleon complex, to want to control and boss around an inanimate computerised slave. Whenever I want lights turning on or off, I simply tell my wife Doreen to go and do it for herself.
The product is very well priced compared with the competition. Works exactly as it should and a half the price of its nearest rival.
I feel bad comparing them to the Hue lily but that`s the reason I bought them because they offered most of the features of the Lily for less than 1/2 the price.
Positives
Well made casing seems to be all metal
Connectors are well made and cables are solid
Things to be aware of
The lights are much smaller that the Hue Lily
The lights have a power adaptor type plug similar to outdoor Christmas lights, unlike the Hue which has a moulded plug, this power adaptor model may not suit everyone as it makes it slightly harder to install outside.
The lights (all 3) operate as a single bulb in the Hue app which means all 3 will be the same colour you cannot individually control each light as you can you the Lily.
That said all in all a very well made product the works and at a reasonable price.
