I bought this dye for my eyebrows originally but my other half saw it and tried it on his beard. It covered the grays and the colour is nice – although slightly darker then advertised. Overall I’ll use it on my eyebrows and will try and update but for men it’s great! Just be careful as it stains the skin (lips) if you get carried away but nothing a make up wipe wouldn’t get off providing you check straight after the application 🙂
Pros:Natural looking results,Long lasting colour,Easy application
cons:Can stain skin,Package contains only a bit product
Overall, this is a fantastic product that delivers on its promises. If you’re looking for a reliable beard dye that offers natural results, easy application, and long-lasting color, Just For Men Moustache & Beard Real Black is definitely worth trying!
Effective, but please do not forget to abide by the recommended time.
My mature Viking look was turned into a raven black nightmare, because I forgot to time the dye.
The result was a comic book dark beard that looked unnatural and, in the end, there was no option but to trim it down to avoid being stared at during my next shopping trip to ASDA.
Yes, I fell for the tiktok trend and don’t technically use it for it’s intended use (beard). So I bought this and honestly 10/10 does the job, literally need a drop and it completely covers your eyebrows for weeks and only rarely needs a touch up. Really cheap in comparison to woman’s alternative products (yeah I wish we got as good quality as men do for their bare minimum range of beauty products but it is what it is and I am pleased! :D)
First time I’ve tried this and I’m pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to apply and how well it works. I don’t have a big beard so I don’t need to use very much and this has done me 4 applications so far and I think will do one or two more. It’s the easiest, fastest and cheapest way to make yourself look and feel a bit younger – it looks natural and I don’t feel self-conscious afterwards – unlike dying your hair, which always looks fake anyway, takes longer and is much messier. I’ve given it 4 not 5 stars because it does stain your face too, which you’ll have to scrub off – make sure you have a dark facecloth and towel ready!
For smaller beards, not much is needed – otherwise will waste quickly.
Really easy to mix and apply and the colour is a great match to my beard. Doesn’t seem to last longer than a week before the greys start showing again which is a shame as I have a medium beard.
I use this to dye my eyebrows every 6 weeks. Brilliant stuff. Would use again.
Brought to get rid of ginger tinges out my beard works great lasts few weeks
Saw Liz Earle’s tip of using moustache dye on eyebrows as comes in better shades. At 52 is never dyed my brows but they needed a bit of darkening so I tried this using a small eyeshadow brush to apply. Just fantastic results
Very dark I recommend a shade lighter especially if you don’t have any grey hairs like me but want more colour in your beard I’ll definitely use a shade lighter next time very dark and don’t freak out when you have dark lines around your beard etc you need to shampoo and wash dye out in shower after 5mins lines go away, don’t leave in any longer plus no need to use loads two small lines is more than enough and don’t apply more than ONCE in the same spot unless you want beard to look black! Careful with the brush head as this dye splashes and won’t come off your walls and other materials you don’t want dots everywhere. If on glass mirror or ceramic it will wash off.
Lasts for about a week, does a subtle job, already bought 2
This one turned out a bit dark for me so went down to the medium brown, very good value for money I can do my full beard and moustache 2-3 times easily and my beard is pretty thick! You really don’t need to use a lot just makes sure it’s spread in evenly and leave it on for the recommended time! Comes with a handy little applicator and gloves so you don’t get it all over your hands! Last up to about a month maybe a month a half (I start noticing the lighter hairs coming through after about a month. But YMMV)
This worked surprisingly better than I expected. The colour is a little darker than I thought (I guess my hair is closer to blond than light brown). It does fade a little quicker than expected though – you might need to apply once a week if your beard grows quickly or you’re trying to maintain stubble like me.
I have a dark brown (almost black) beard. I used this for grey patches and it was a perfect match.
Was nervous about trying a shade lighter (as recommended by reviews) but thankfully it doesn’t lighten at all. So it worked well.
Easy to use and mix, quick to apply and only have to wait max 5 mins, great quality, nicely packaged, portable, a lot for the price and very worth it!
Effective and made my eyebrows look so natural I was afraid it would be too dark, but I got 2 shades lighter than my actual dark brown eyebrows that are sparse. It doesn’t go everywhere I didn’t need to use any guidlines, just the brush and freewheeled the product onto eyebrows.
Easy to use, quick working, long lasting (2 weeks or so). Multiple applications from one supply. Only downside is it gives a very uniformed, obviously dyed effect until after a few washes.
This is a great product if you stick too two rules
1. Take an antihistamine prior to colouring the beard
2. Leave on less than recommended time
If you leave on for five minutes it’s virtually black
.
Do the Greyest patches first for a short time wash off and dry then go over lightly the overall beard for a short period even the colour out . It will always be a hit & miss thing with the dye and it will
Always be darker than expected but it will gradually fade but not immediately be very mindful of this and you’ll
Get good results . He colour is never the same as the box picture . And medium brown doesn’t go as dark as light brown does strangely . It’s the only one on the market so you can’t compare to anything else really ?
I bought this as my dark brown bed has started to show a patchy white as I get older, as well as a little ginger. Once received (and considering it’s a potent chemical) I read the manual – considering you’re applying this to your face I highly recommend the patch test beforehand which is done 48 hours before application. The gloves are huge in this box and got in the way so I discarded them and used some nitrile gloves instead. The instructions and method to mix the two gels is very easy and doesn’t give off much of a smell whatsoever. My first go I mixed a small amount which in hindsight was too little for a beard roughly one inch long, so mixed the gels to the full length of the guide in the tray the following time round. Brush on – but be slow with this as the brush can flick the dye everywhere, and I’ve found it tough to remove from a white sink (the missus is unhappy!). Wait five minutes and wash off in the shower using a shampoo.
As per most users, the medium brown can be VERY dark if you wait the full five minutes, so I’d recommend a shade up from your natural colour, this also gives the beard a little depth against your natural colour so it doesn’t look fake. The colour lasted around 1-2 weeks at most which is a shame, but you can have this applied and washed off in under 10 minutes so not too taxing to apply twice per month.
I’ve actually trimmed my beard back to 5-10mm and what I have noticed is this colouring isn’t that effective on the base of the hair where it’s thicker, so if you have a short beard I would not recommend this product, hence 4 stars.
Like many men of a certain age, I suffer from a beardy dilemma: do I leave it to go completely white (as mine is naturally) or fake it and hopefully knock a few years off my grizzly grandad fizzog? The third option, shave the thing off, isn’t an option. Just for Men is pretty much the only dye for beards and moustache hair that I’ve found, so it’s a good job it works. I’ve tried most variants when it comes to colour, having very dark brown hair when I had hair. I have shaved my head for at least 20 years now, so colour matching isn’t a concern. Not looking like some joker with a magic marker has gone to town on my face is. For that reason I reckon the blacks and dark browns are best avoided. I tend to go for either light or medium brown, depending upon which is cheapest at the time. Then, every month or so, I apply a light brushing through of the dye and leave it to set for five to ten minutes (max). This way I don’t get the painted on look, and by allowing some grey/white to streak through the whole effect is far more natural in my opinion. I’ve never used the supplied gloves, not really needed. I mix the solutions (they come in two small tubes that are resealable and usually last me three months, three applications as I only have a small beard these day) when I’m in the bath and only get my hands into it when I’m shampooing it off. Nice and clean, nice and easy. I’ve attached a photo so you can see the result I get when using the medium brown in this way, and remember that without it my beard now grows through pure white! As I say, I find that one box lasts me three applications and I only need to reapply once per month, so the value equation works out OK. I’ve never experienced any ‘orange beard’ problems, or burning etc – then again I don’t go daft and leave it on for ages.
