My family and I where totally amazed not just how easy it was to make butter but we where totally gobsmacked the amount of butter we got from 600ml of double cream. Unlike the time the instruction said it would take ie about 10 minutes it only took 6 minutes of slow churning. This purchase has really made me chuckle and ive loved the experience of using it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really easy and quick to make butte

I’ve never made butter before, thought I’d do it randomly.. One of those impulse purchases lol.
Enjoyed doing it, used 1 pot of double cream and a decent amount of butter came from it, about 30 minutes, the handle kept catching when spinning.. Added some garlic and herbs and used the butter with dinner. Really good buy 🙂

I saw one of these in an account on Instagram and thought what a fabulous thing to make your own butter – when I saw one for sale on Amazon I bought one and have not regretted it – it’s my Sunday routine – make my own delicious butte

I bought this for my mother and she absolutely loves it! It’s a great tool for making homemade butter, it’s easy to use and the results are great. The churner is made of durable glass and it comes with a special lid that keeps the butter inside while it’s churning. The handle is easy to grip and the churning process is smooth and consistent.

My mother has used it to make butter with different kinds of cream and it works great every time. The butter comes out creamy and delicious. Clean up is easy too, just rinse it out and it’s ready to use again.

I’m so impressed by this churner that I’m tempted to get one for myself, it’s a great addition to any kitchen, especially for those who enjoy making their own butter.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI use it to make my butter on a regular basis, it’s fine for weekly use. Works well and quickly in churning, is easy to clean.
Lid doesn’t come off while churning but would perhaps be better if it was a screw on not a clip on
My grandchildren have also had great fun using it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPurchased for a xmas gift for my sons partner, the following day she sent a photo of the butter she’d made an said my son had used some of the buttermilk in his coffee, overall, it was an easy process an was pleased with the end result, the only criticism, she will add a bit more salt next time.

5.0 out of 5 stars It worked

Jar looks solid upper part does not. After one use holds up very well will see if stays like this. Leaving cream to get up to room temperature before it’s crucial. One advise don’t give up 🙂 my first butter took 40 min. Overall for this price definitely give it a go.

Used it every wk end to make different butters, recipe book is handy. The buttermilk in scones, Yorkshire puds is heaven. You get both , yummy
Cheaper than a block of butter really

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThe whole family now gets involved in making butter when I find reduced cream in the supermarket, kids love having a turn.
It’s definitely a work out on the arms though. Takes about 15-20 minutes to make, less if the cream is room temperature. The seal on the lid could do with being tighter as it does slip when churning. My partner had to pull the handle out a bit as it kept catching on the lid clip.
Overall its great, does exactly what it’s ment to.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is definitely a workout for the arms but the result is totally worth it. Easy to use and every now and then I stopped to scrape down the sides with a spatula. In less than 30 minutes I had turned a large pot of double cream into a pat of butter and a jar of buttermilk that will shortly become waffles. Excellent device and I should have bought one sooner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Arm Day!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt definitely makes butter! Some sort of non slip base would be useful as it can move around a bit, plus some sort of spout to make it just a bit easier to separate the butter milk from the butter. Usefull though.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese work great in the butter Making process, they are expensive for what they are, but needed.
I started to make my own butter because of how expensive it now is to buy.
They will pay for themselves. Well made and sturdy.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI am very happy with my purchase of the Kilner churner! I’ve used it four times and froze individual servings. One thing to remember is don’t put too much cream in the jar, as it doesn’t thicken. 300 mls is more than enough for butter and butter milk.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI saw this on a video on FB and straight away bought one, I am pleasantly surprised that it bludy well works it’s amazing, i didn’t think it would be so easy one second i was like “might give this a break for a bit” then in a matter of seconds it turned to butter. Stunning, awesome, proper chuffed.

I got one star down on sturdiness however because when you turn the handle it constantly hits the metal clip holding it onto the glass jar, they should reposition the clips. Other than that, it’s awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars Omg I didn’t think it would be so easy

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI had no idea how easy it is to make my own butter! Lessons learnt – the churner takes one large pot of double cream and makes one decent sized pat of butter. Make sure you leave the double cream out of the fridge for at least two hours before using otherwise it takes ages. My most recent batch was out of the fridge for about 3.5 hours and it made the churning so much easier. I use Maldon sea salt and grind the flakes with a pestle and mortar before adding it to the lump of butter. Make sure you rinse it well under a cold tap, then use the paddles to shape it. I store my butter in greaseproof paper. Really worth buying and the kids love using it!

This is a Butter Churner. I want a bash at making my own to see if it does have a better flavour. Haven’t used it yet but I am impressed with the quality. It does look sturdy and well made. If I have a little gripe, it is the size of it. Would have liked one about twice the size but I don’t think that size is available.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersKilner. What can I say about such an iconic brand? I own several Kilner jars so it was a bit of a no brainer when I wanted to start making my own butter. You do have to make sure it’s nice and clean before you first use it but then you’d do that anyway wouldn’t you?

Make sure your cream is room temperature before attempting to churn. I’ve tried chunring cold before just to see how it would work and well…it didn’t. After half an hour I still had a jar of cold double cream. When your cream is at room temperature this little butter churn will churn it quickly into your own butter and it’s your choice to make it salted or unsalted. This churn is great for the novice and expert alike to use and I’d recommend it for anyone that wants to give home-made butter a go. Just be prepared for the wheel to become very hard to turn when you’re almost there, but it will soon become easy to churn again when you’ve scraped all the butter off your paddles and back into the jar – oh, and put a few trays of water in ice cube trays the day before – you’ll need the ice to wash the butter when it’s made – and you also get lots of lovely buttermilk as a by-product that you can use in other recipes. I’ve found this makes lovely buttermilk pancakes!

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersThis is a fantastic product. Incredibly easy to make butter and it now takes me about 8 minutes to convert double cream into the creamiest butter you could want. Tips on use – try to have it on a hard surface when you’re churning (not on your lap in front of the TV as I did first time) – it’s just easier to churn and seems to turn into butter faster when it’s on a solid surface. Don’t be afraid to have a peek into the jar mid-churn to see how it’s doing. My first go I have several peeks and pokes and it didn’t seem to adversely affect the final product – although it did take the best part of an hour to churn ! I’ve now tried all available double creams in Sainsburys and Tescos – I was surprised to see the organic / higher quality looking creams had higher fat and sugar contents. I tried Elmlea – it takes up to an hour to churn and then you get about a third of the butter you get with the same amount of conventional cream. I now use the standard own brand double creams and it churns in about 8 minutes. The butter milk is delicious to drink or can be used in cooking. (I put muslin over a jug / bowl then pour the butter and butter milk in, lifting the butter out in the muslin). And I’ve found that rinsing the butter whilst it’s still in the muslin means you don’t lose any and is less hassle then trying to rinse it in the jar, as is recommended. The churner itself feels quite sturdy.
