used this on my laptop that does not have an earphone socket so used this with my phone headphones. microphone also works through this adapte
I have a Sennheiser gaming headset which I use for work calls and really like. This headset has separate 3.5mm jack plugs for the earphones and the mic. On my old laptop, I had separate input jacks for these, so all good. On my new laptop, there is only a 3.5mm audio out socket. However, the headset itself came with an adapter to convert both jacks to a single 3.5mm input jack for mic and earphones. I decided to get this little adapter so I could continue to use my headset on my new laptop, but via USB instead.
The adapter works absolutely perfectly – I plugged the headphone jack into the 3.5mm input on the adapter and then plugged the adapter into a USB port on my laptop. Windows 11 recognised it straight away and after a quick test, everything was working perfectly. The sound quality coming through the earphones as well as via the mic is excellent, every bit as good as it was using the individual plugs on my previous laptop.
An adapter for 3mm split jack for audio and mic. Really great quality. Sound quality is OK but, can get a little feedback through mic.
Purchased a budget headset to use for Skype chats at work, however I didn’t realise the headset I purchased had a single jack, and the front ports on the pc only did mic in OR audio out. So this cable is the ideal solution. Works perfectly.
For some reason my PC front aux port would pick up my headset but not my MIC – buying this USB to aux cable has resolved the issue and my friends tell me I sound clearer and crispe
I’m sure its fine as a headphone jack but I cannot make it work as a microphone jack which was the main reason I bought it, its got a little microphone logo on it but when I plug a mic into it nothing happens
Got this for my work laptop to use 3.5mm jack steel series headset rather than rubbish one I got from work. My HP laptop base station is cranky and wouldn’t work with a standard audio splitter cable. But this works straight out of the pack. More than fine for conference calls. Plug in and it just worked with windows 10. A nice touch is the logo tells you the right USB side up. I think there may have been very slight more noise on video calls but not intrusive. That difference may be more the laptop as the headphones sounded just a little better when plugged in on their own to my own gear. Great value for converting a jack headset to usb
My mic is rly quite using this adapter. Other than that it has surged me well.
I kept having to unplug my headphones from the monitor which was a pain to straighten back up then plug them in to my mixer when using my keyboards, purchased this to make it easier so it’s constantly plugged in to the monitor. Not much to say about it as it’s just an extension. The little things do help
Brought it for my wife’s computer as the 3.5mm jack packed up. Coming from that part of the world, a product called Kiwibird for her was a no brainer. Plugged into the USB port, connected her headphones and she had sound again. Happy wife, happy life.
Was using an old motherboard for a virtual server rig running Windows 2019. However there was no sound coming out of the on board speaker out connector. Plugged this in and immediately picked up in windows and sounds started working with external speaker plugged in.
The sound is great, you can’t tell the difference. But one small complain is that, when you insert the headphone jack, at first they dont work and you have to push them in abit more untill u hear a second click, for them to work, tugging the headphones even lightly will make it stop working.
I recently bought a gaming PC, which has two 3.5 audio jacks at the top for audio and microphone. The problem is that the only wired headset I have is a set of Apple Earpods. I did not want to use a bluetooth headset when I’m gaming for hours at a time, and I did notl want to get a new headset because I find the Earpods extremely comfy.
This thing solved my problem! It acts as both an audio and microphone jack, and the Earpods have been working perfectly with it. Even the sound quality is pretty good considering the price. Very happy with it!
Arrived promptly and package fitted through the letter box. Need to have headphones with a built in volume control but otherwise works brilliantly and really is plug and play in Windows 10.
