So far I am very impressed with these scales. As there is a life time gaurentee, I do hope that if anything goes wrong there won’t be any problems.

Perfect for demanding cooks. I tried the accuracy with weights I have and they were all mesured within 10mg. Very good for the money.

Incredibly accurate even when dealing with 0.00g, I’ve cross checked it by using gram scales and normal kitchen scales, I measured credit cards and other small items btw. Easy to clean good sized surface area for weighing.

This is a nice little kitchen scale, and can handle small, medium, or even large bowls.

The maximum load is 5Kg, and it is accurate right up to that point, to within 0.1g. It was certainly as accurate as I am able to measure it..

The packaging is very minimal, a thin glossy-printed card boxbox with the scale in bubblewrap inside.

The LCD display is large and clear with a pale blue backlight and I had no problems using it.

The controls are good and have everything covered. All the different measurement units are available. You get two trays that fit the surface perfectly.

There are three power methods, direct USB cable, internal recharging, and AAAx2 batteries. Having multiple options is great, and the AAA should last a couple of years of use.

The unit itself looks very modern and stylish, so top marks there.

For those people with a small kitchen, this could be a welcome gift due to it’s very small size.

The price of 25 seems about right for a scale of this size and quality that can go up to 5kg.

Recommended, particularly if you can get it on sale for 20 or less.

I needed a more accurate and more reliable scales for my baking and cooking. i brought this because it measures in 0.00 which is great. The scale itself feels very sturdy compared to my old scale and feels like it will last longer as it isnt a scale that is in two loose parts. It also comes with a lifetime guarantee as well. The scale is also usb charged as well which is great. it is very accurate and is worth the price for me.
i would recommend this for any cook.

hese turn on instantly. easy to use the settings. fast, accurate, easy to clean.
Not much more to say about scales other than this, which I think is the most important thing… If I dropped these and they broke, I would buy them again tomorrow.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThese scales are exactly what I’ve been looking for! I needed scales that were accurate and would weigh even small amounts, so the fact that these weigh to a tenth of a gram was perfect. I ordered these before I went to bed last night and they arrived before 9 this morning! Naturally I had to try them out straight away. I weighed some things that were less than 1g and the scales picked those up and weighed them accurately. With my old scales (which were also digital) anything less than about 7 or 8g just simply didn’t register. What I also love is the fact that you can set the shut off time to one that suits you. So you can set it to manual only, or auto shut off at 1, 2 or 3 minutes. The scales come with two quite shallow trays which are great for bulky things that won’t spill over, however with the Tare function you can use any bowl you like and zero the reading before adding ingredients. There are also about 9 different weighing units you can switch between, although I mainly use grams. And the feather in the cap for these scales is that they come with rechargeable batteries and a charging lead. What more could you ask for? Really very highly recommended!

Came promptly and worked out of the box allowing me to feed my 8 week old puppy exactly the amount recommended by my Vet. What more could I ask?

Really excellent set of scales with a very clear display which says ‘hello’ when first turned on! Can be switched between different units (g, kg, oz etc). Comes with two weighing trays which cleverly double as protective lids for the scales when flipped over. Best thing of all though – rechargeable batteries (supplied), plus an appropriate charging lead – I am one of those terrible people who has been known to replace a whole gadget rather than hunt out obscure/expensive new batteries, so this is ideal for me and other lazy so-and-sos. Highly recommended!

I have really increased my baking during the lockdowns and needed a practical gadget that doesn’t take up too much space.
These scales come with a small tray which is optional to use – I just used the flour bag! Works for me.
The power is either a small length usb or through 2 rechargeable batteries.
Displaying lbs, ozs and metric, it doesn’t matter how old the recipe, it’s good upto 5kg.

My only criticism is the small tray, it could be deeper. Having said that, it was easily washable with the tray being fine in the dishwasher.

Really pleased overall. Very accurate and precise.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI really like these scales, I got them to replace a similar but smaller version that stopped working after a few years of use.
My plan was to use these for weighing out water treatment salts for making beer, but after using them for a few weeks I have found them to be useful for various other uses.
Right out of the box I checked the accuracy against some calibration weights and there was very little deviation across the range of weights tested which is a good start.
There are two clear plastic weighing trays which double up as protective covers for both the scale plate and the larger one covers whole thing, giving good protection against water and dust from above. I don’t use these trays for weighing directly as the plastic seems quite brittle and may scratch or break easily when being washed up, there also quite shallow so not ideal for ingredients, I use one of these trays then another container on top for weighing into which works well for me.
The top capacity of 5kg is ideal for weighing out hops into a big hug, and the 0.1g accuracy is good enough for other ingredient and additions measurement.
The display is bright, with all information in a large, clear font and backlit display makes it really easy to read.
A feature I find really useful is the liquid measuring mode, this is a feature that wasn’t included with the older smaller set of scales and has come in handy.
After 3 weeks of use, maybe 10 uses a week, I checked calibration again and still pretty close.
Still running on original full battery charge, and once it does finally run out of battery, it can be plugged in to usb to recharge rather than having to find more batteries, great!

The scale works well, the screen is easy to read, and the rechargeable batteries are way more eco-friendly than some batteries I would have to replace every few months.
It’s easy to clean and looks nice. It’s a bit expensive, but hopefully, it means it will not break anytime soon.
Very happy with it, I would recommend it to anyone.

This is a small digital weight scale which it has a non slip base and it is made of stainless steel weighting surface, also with LCD screen, double trays and automatic shut down function. It is very easy to manage with menu and also to read the result which it gives very quicly and with accuracy. Delivery was fast and well packed

These are very good scales, they come with two transparent trays of different sizes.
The scales switch on very quickly and the buttons are really responsive, no having to push them twice, they work great the first time they are pressed.
You can easily ‘tare’ between ingredients, no trouble at all.
The weighing area is large and can easily cope with bowls and dishes.
They don’t switch off quickly like my previous set of scales so you can wander off and come back and finish weighing your ingredients. Fantastic. Love them

These scales aren’t small, nor are they massive. Gracing my kitchen with ease as it’s only 165mm wide 205mm by 30mm deep. The scale measuring pad itself is 155mm squared
There’s a little screen on the top, just below the scale measuring pad, this screen a mere 30mm by 60mm
It gives you the options of kilo’s, grams, pounds etc. So it’s for everyone really.
It can be used using 2 AAA batteries or plugged in using the USB cable which charges the batteries inside.
They are made of stainless steel which makes cleaning them down so easy.

It comes with 2 trays, one at about 165mm squared, the larger tray is 220mm by 170mm.

You can zero the reading if you put something like a bowl on it before pouring in the thing you want weighing. This saves any guess work when it comes to how heavy the bowl was in the first place.
In all, a fine set of scales which come in handy in the kitchen. They are easy to use and the information popping onto the screen is easy to understand. Well worth the money indeed.

I’m surprised it seems to have taken so long to see rechargeable scales. Often electronic scales take those expensive coin batteries which you always find you’ve run out of when they conk out. As well as being rechargeable they will also work by AAA batteries, i.e. ones you are likely to have in stock (a pair are included). The charging port is USB micro B, a bit surprising when everything is moving to USB C and the micro B cables are becoming rarer to come by. You do get an appropriate micro B to A cable with it, but it’s annoying that you get a cable with absolutely everything which is just more excessive waste, frankly. People should be compelled to buy their own cables if necessary, in my opinion.

You also get not one but two clear plastic lids with it which can double as trays for measuring. One is a shallow square one which fits fairly tightly over the weighing platform, the second a deeper, bigger one which covers the entire apparatus more loosely. I’m not entirely sure that it’s a bonus really to have both, if anything it’s a minor annoyance to have to remove two lids every time you want to use it. For cooking you are likely to want to use a proper bowl to pour stuff into anyway as even the larger tray is only around an inch deep.

The instructions are mildly incomprehensible in parts as we come to expect with a lot of electronic goods, but fortunately for the purposes of most of us the basic functionality is largely self explanatory anyway. The accuracy seems OK comparing to other electronic scales I have at least – either they’re both right or both wrong.

Overall a decent set of scales, but does seem rather overpriced for what it is.

The scales arrived safely, and they come nicely packed inside a well-illustrated retail box. Along with the scales you get two trays, 2x AAA rechargeable batteries, USB to Micro USB charge cable, and the user guide. The weigh plate measures approx. 16cm x 16cm, the large tray measures 17.5cm x 22cm, and the small tray measures 16cm x 16cm.

The quality of the scales is good; they are weighty, well put together, the screen is large and easy to read, the rubber feet grip well, and the trays are thick and sturdy. Overall, I’m pleased with the quality of the scales.

You get 9 different measurements in total, some that I haven’t come across before such as DWT, TL, and OZT. Of course, you have the standard measurements like grams and ounces, and you can also measure liquids and items such as coins. I tested the accuracy of the scales using some calibration weights and they are perfectly accurate.

I love the display, its so easy to read and the backlight is very handy and only comes on while you are using it to save battery. You get a nice greeting when you turn it on and its ready to use within a couple of seconds. The tare function works great and the included trays are really useful, and I like that they double up as a protective cover for the scales.

Overall, I think these are a decent set of scales which are accurate and good quality. The price seems a bit high for what you are getting as there are similar products that are cheaper out there but apart from that I cannot find fault with them. If you can look past the price, then I highly recommend these scales and I feel they are worth fours stars.

A nice set of kitchen scales, I’ve got a simple manual one so these are a treat! They seem to work perfectly, I’ll keep the info guide handy till I get used to them. Comes with a lifetime guarantee. Also a usb charger and 2 AAA batteries. Good size tray to cover the top in storage and or measuring food in. Easy to use and clean. Good price too. Perfect size for standard mixing bowls etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice set of scales.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersLike many people during this pandemic I have started baking and now do so a couple of times a week. I needed a decent set of kitchen scales for this purpose. I really liked these scales. They are slim and take up very little space. I really liked the way the scales fitted inside the 2 plastic trays provided which meant that they were easy to store and took up minimum space. You can use the 2 plastic trays to weigh small quantities of foodstuffs but if you are baking it is easier to use a normal baking bowl as you can then add one ingredient at a time to the bowl, setting the scales back to zero after each ingredient. This makes baking very easy. For this reason another reviewer’s complaint about the small size of the trays makes no sense. Use a bowl instead of the trays! The display screen was clear and large which made it easy to read. I also liked the fact that the scales were rechargeable. I remember the battery going dead on my old scales and not having the right size of battery in the house – very inconvenient! Overall I thought these were good scales which were very easy to use. Happy to recommend.

This is a sleek stylish scale with a big, easy-to-read illuminated display, raised buttons (more reliable in the long-run than touchscreen and flat buttons) and a large weighing surface area ideal for the kitchen where you can just put your own mixing bowl directly onto the scale and start adding ingredients; use the tare function to zero the weight after each ingredient. You also get two plastic trays included in the box if you want to use those (rectangular tray: approx 8.1″ x 6.5″ and square tray: approx 6.5″ x 6.5″).

It’s a sensitive scale that seems really accurate; it can measure in 0.1g increments from 0.1g to 5000g (it’s grams by default but there’s also ounces and other units of measure). There’s a handy auto turnoff feature and you can use batteries (2x AAA) or charge the scale with a USB cable, which I think is fantastic.

All in all, a really good scale especially if you want a big display and a large surface area to place your saucepan or mixing bowl directly on top of the scale and still be able to read the display. It’s lightweight and looks decent for the price and importantly, it gives precise and accurate measurements.

Normally when I’m batch cooking, Ingredients tend to fly around the kitchen making a mess, Especially when I’m weighing ingredients for a recipe. This larger model kitchen scale is ideal for those who batch cook or have to make meals for a large family.

The scales are accurate and precice so there’s nothing to complain about. The measurements are fully comprehensive with all the mod cons you would expect from a modern reliable scale. Overall I’m very pleased with it.

KUBEI Upgraded Larger Size Digital Food Scale Weight Grams and OZ, 5kg/0.1g Kitchen Scale for Cooking Baking, High Precision Electronic Scale with LCD Display

Handed to my wife to test.

    In the box.
The scales, weighing bowl, USB cable and batteries.

    Build quality.
The weighing platform is stainless steel so easy to clean. The overall quality is very good. The readout is very easy to read.

    Power.
It can be powered by batteries and rechargeable ones plus a USB power source. Our kitchen sockets have a USB socket so it is easy to power.

    Weighing.
It weighs up to 5Kg at a time. It can also weigh very small amounts less than a gram which may be useful for coin collectors and weighing gold etc. as it is very accurate. It can weigh in metric or imperial and has metal weight values like Troy Pound and penny weight which is strange for a kitchen scale!

    Overall.
A very nice accurate kitchen scales with plenty of features if you want to weight flour as well as jewellery items such as gold etc. It is fine but you pay extra for the extra weighing modes which may be over the top for some.

I want kitchen scales to be reliable and accurate. I want to weigh flour, sugar and fat mainly for bread, cake and pastry making. These scales are supplied with a clear plastic dish to use for flour, for example. Or solid ingredients can be placed directly on the stainless steel base, but that means recalibration to take account of the plastic dish if you used that first.

The dish is a decent size, but the sides are shallow. I prefer a smaller dish with higher sides. The unit can be charged bu usb and seems to charge up quickly and no issues with it retaining the power. Or you can use 2 AAA batteries, supplied with the scales. The display with weight is clear and easy to read, a big plus. Nicely boxed so would make a good gift. Just a bit fiddly to set up, so I’ve knocked of a star.

  25. Anonymous says:

The scale is contained inside a nicely decorated cardboard box which would make it a nice looking gift for housewarming present. There are a few too many plastic bags holding the parts to call it environmentally friendly. There are two clear plastic trays of different sizes. The LED screen is a very good size to clearly see the weights. there are two AAA batteries included and a USB charger, which is the same size as a Kindle charger. There are four buttons; ON/OFF; TARE; MODE, and COUNT. and a small instruction sheet.

The measurements are a bit strange for a kitchen scale, I don’t know many people who would want to weigh jewellery or gold on them but these scales do just that. The Mode changes the weights between G (Grams); LB (Pounds & ounces); DWT (Pennyweight); OZT (Troy ounce); OZ (ounces); GN (Grains); TL (Tola = 3/8 troy ounce (exactly) = 11.66g); ML (millilitres).
The maximum weight is 5000grams or 5kg. I do like the size of the weighing tray and the clear LED which lights up. the two plastic trays are very useful, one of them is slightly larger than the scale which is helpful when weighing large joints of meat. They seem to be pretty accurate but i don’t have a calibration weight to test them, but I’m only weight food items and not jewellery or gold (I wish!) so the weight shown is what i will take as true. I’ve never heard of this manufacturer before so don’t know their history or reputation, so can’t comment. I like the fact that batteries are supplied but i removed the batteries and charged it up on my laptop with the USB, it doesn’t have to be plugged in to use the scale, and that’s the cheaper method, rather than buying batteries every two minutes. They have now replaced my previous best scales in my kitchen and i really like them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good size weighing plate and has jewellery weights

  26. Anonymous says:

The scale comes with two solid clear plastic trays which can protect them in storage. It’s charged up via USB (another lead to lose) and does support calibration with weights (honestly you don’t need to be that accurate). You have to delve into the tiny print to try to puzzle out the extra settings, and I am still somewhat confused. They seem to be developed as cheap lab scales or for, ahem, nefarious occupations which need to measure items carefully.
